    Highly unoptimized for console. You literally play at 20-30 FPS even in next gen. The sound engine is the absolute worst for trying to hear your enemies, the most important thing in the game. Enemy shoots to your left, he could easily be to your right, doesn’t matter if you have headphones. If he’s shooting above, he could be on the same level as you, can’t tell. Don’t waste your money.

    I played the first insurgency years ago on PC and was sad that my 2016-ish PC couldn't handle sandstorm but I was excited when they finally released the console version after a delay. I play it alot. Even if you aren't the most skilled at PVP or competitive there are multiple PVE modes that you can rank up on just as well. The weapons sound great better than that obnoxious generic "boom"I played the first insurgency years ago on PC and was sad that my 2016-ish PC couldn't handle sandstorm but I was excited when they finally released the console version after a delay. I play it alot. Even if you aren't the most skilled at PVP or competitive there are multiple PVE modes that you can rank up on just as well. The weapons sound great better than that obnoxious generic "boom" in Call of duty. You can actually hear the metal clank or reverb after shooting in a wide open field. The customization is very good. You can create your own character male or female (there are a limited number of faces total but still much more than other shooters that try to sell you skins). You can unlock different pieces of cosmetic gear and nothing is locked behind a paywall. A newb can have the same weapons and attachments as a seasoned vet- it's all about skill. I play it on the "underpowered" series s and it's smooth 60fps with the same bugs that plague the other versions so no complaints.

    My only gripes with the game is the lack of content updates. I mean the last few content drops were only some costumes, a map, and a few weapons. I wish we could get more maps just so we could play the game in more ways.    … Expand

    If your into slow paced tactical shooters, and sick and tired of arcade shooters like Cod, then this is a must buy. There are a few bugs, but they are being patched. Most fun ive had in pvp since the early days of Rainbow Six Siege. Thank you developers! Im Having a blast!

    Absolutely a 10/10 experience for me, I've been wanting this kinda game for so long on consoles now it's finally here. It has some minor issue which are easily fixable. The proximity voice chat and the sound design are what make this game different from other shooters

    This game is awesome! I don’t think I’ll play Battlefield or Call of Duty again.

    So, the reason for this review being so bad is the state of the game. To start off: the game suffers from constant crashes and instances of visual or audio glitches. - There are guns that fire and don’t make a sound (and no, no suppressor is equipped) - Bullets that don’t do anything (I’ve been on co-op and dumped 10+ bullets into an AI at point blank range with a gun that’s a 2-3 shotSo, the reason for this review being so bad is the state of the game. To start off: the game suffers from constant crashes and instances of visual or audio glitches. - There are guns that fire and don’t make a sound (and no, no suppressor is equipped) - Bullets that don’t do anything (I’ve been on co-op and dumped 10+ bullets into an AI at point blank range with a gun that’s a 2-3 shot kill even at a distance) - Glitch with the visual where the screen will flicker black, or a variety of ambient colors (and no, this isn’t my setup, it’s the only game I play that does this) - The maps Tell and Precint are basically 95% of the time gonna crash your game. I’ve played with a big group, and four of us crashed out of those maps at one time before. This also happens solo/ basically anytime you play those two maps. - The maps in general are pretty bland, and some of them have design flaws players utilize. On ministry, if you hold down A and B objectives, you basically dominate the game. Players literally get spawn trapped forced to walk into enemy fire to get around. There’s a few other maps that could be considered broken this way, but I’m sure they will never get changed. - i would love to see the DEVS continue to shine this up, and make it into a cult classic like a CS:GO (it’s really got the potential). Add more color to maps, fix the problems, add more game modes, and you got a hit!!! THE GOOD - So the good: this game is f****** awesome! It’s like a hybrid between Pub G and Rainbow Six Siege. Combining the bad graphics from pub and the tactical, close quarters shooting of siege. - I love the variety of weapons! As a gun enthusiast all the weapon and attachments are like a big wet dream. The coolest part is a lot of guns could be considered “meta” for different engagements, so they are all almost worth trying and using. - I love the HUD. Very discreet but almost perfectly done. The compass they use on the bottom is really cool, as most games have stuff like that up at the top of the screen. - the proximity chat is amazing! I love going to capture and objective and hear the enemy team talk. It’s cool because they can also talk to the enemy; which leads to some hilarious verbal exchanges! OVERALL Overall this game is worth the buy. Don’t let my score of 4 fool you! This game is gold, just almost unplayable in its current state with the crashes and glitches! Once fixed I’ll come back and see if I can edit this and give it the score it deserves (an 8 or 9).… Expand

    VOICE CHAT IS STILL BROKEN 6 MONTHS AFTER LAUNCH AND GRENADE LAUNCHERS AND BUCKSHOT LAUNCHERS ARE STILL SUPER WEAPONS WITH ZERO BALANCING TOUCHES SINCE LAUNCH NOT TO MENTION THE WORST HIT REGISTRATION YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE do not buy DO NOT BUY

    Compared to most modern shooters its good but the slow pacing and unusable explosives ruin the game for hardcore players.

    One of the best fps game I have ever played. Everything in this game was beautiful, the landscapes, the guns, the tactics but mostly the amazing soundtrack design. You could be turning your head expecting the gunshot to happen in real life. It’s kind of sad that the devs don’t update the game frequently because it’s 2000 players could have went up a lot.

There are two warring factions, “Security” and “Insurgents”. In this game you can customize your character for either team and there are some micro-transactions. There are two ways to play, Versus and Co-op. Co-op is a mode where you are in a team with other players, however unlike versus your team goes head to head with bots. In both modes before playing you select your region. Now because this game isn’t wildly popular I select North America and Australia to get into a game faster. (Because I live in the US) I believe that this game could have pulled off a campaign however I love the game how it is. The reason this game is a 9 out of 10 is because sometimes the game will lag a bit but otherwise this game is great.… Expand

    Insurgency: Sandstorm is a unique Xbox shooter, and an absolute blast to play when you really get to grips with its core mechanics. While the shooting on offer here perhaps most resembles something like Rainbow Six: Siege or PUBG on console, Sandstorm carves out its own niche by offering authentic gunplay across a wide array of game modes, including plenty of co-op action for those who prefer some PvE gameplay. Its unforgiving shooting mechanics won't be for everyone, but Insurgency: Sandstorm rewards those who really learn how to play it, resulting in one of the most satisfying first-person shooters on Xbox today.

    Insurgency: Sandstorm finally reaches the Xbox coast after a successful launch on PC. This tactical shooter will put you in the center of the Middle East conflict with astonishing realism where cooperation and coordination between team members will be essential for a positive outcome.

    Insurgency: Sandstorm isn’t the prettiest game I’ve played, graphics could be crisper and cleaner, but it’s raw and gritty. As someone who isn’t as comfortable with PvP gaming, my reflexes can’t keep up anymore, though I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing Insurgency: Sandstorm. Co-op play with a team against AI was a much more pleasant experience than I anticipated and actually found myself wanting to play more than expected.
