HyperParasite is a 16bit Twin-Stick shooter Rouge-lite. You take on the role of an alien parasite with the ability to take over people and use their body to fight. You'll navigate your parasite through a grunge aesthetic world, in an attempt to take over the President's body. You will harness the hordes of a world in martial law, one body at a time. The game controls are crisp and super responsive, giving way for incredibly satisfying gameplay. Using nearly any enemy as a weapon, you have an endless arsenal from shopping carts to crazy guns and powers. It's very satisfying to run over a cop with a hobo and his shopping cart then hop into another cops body and gun down a few armed crazies. The action in HyperParasite is downright addictive, and pressing forward to attain victory is a driving force that grows with every death. On your quest, you meet another alien, a Wito, and they specialize in dealing with other aliens and provide valuable intel and services. They even have an area where you can save bodies you'd like to use later, so you can store a handful of good bodies to grab when you have to start over. HyperParasite is a great game and will provide hours of fun to fans of Twin-Stick Shooters or Rouge-Lites! Expand

One of my favorite things about this game is that I keep coming back to play it simply because of the humor and addictive gameplay.

Cool, brutal, unforgiving and cool (I said it already). Game's rad, got my butt kicked endless times and I am still trying to beat it, might be the first time this happens. Buy this or die sad.

HyperParasite has a wonderful look and feel, but is marred by its “rogue” elements. It doesn’t do anything to push the genre forward and feels like yet another game that I would likely never finish due to tedium.

HyperParasite is an interesting concept with fundamentally decent gameplay, but where its shines is its heart, as you can tell a lot of passion went into this project. Having seen it evolve over the past year and a half proves a lot of work has gone into making it the best game it can be. It’s hilarious, has tons of pop culture references and more than enough glowing neon that you’ll know what to do with. If you’re a twin-stick shooter fan, HyperParasite is worth checking out and infecting the human race for as long as you can handle its challenging difficulty.

HyperParasite is a tough title to love. The grind-heavy path of progression is a pain to deal with, and the visuals are muddled and unattractive. However, the gameplay is strong and addicting. Even in the face of constant death, you'll want to keep pushing forward.
