    Hovership Havoc is exactly what its title suggests; you steer your hovership around the enemies and navigate areas of complete havoc. The game starts very tough, though that is by design as you would get bored if it was too easy. It is a competent arcade twin-stick shooter for skilled gamers, stick at it and upgrade wisely, and you will start to get a knack for things.

    It’s not going to set the world on fire, but Hovership Havoc is certainly worthy of a closer look. And if you like spaceships and twin stick shooters with a twist of rogue-like action then this will fill a gap.

    It may be a solid shooter but if Hovership Havoc featured more variety and visual clarity, it would have taken things to the next level.

There is no story really, like most Twin-Stick games your objective is simple, destroy all the enemies and move to the next stage. At first, the game feels Hard, you're slow with a low rate of fire, and after just a few stages it get too much fast. But even though you start over when you die, you get to upgrade your ship, and change your loadouts. There are four ships, and as far as I can tell they each retain their own stats and load-outs. As you increase your ships stats, things start to level out a bit, but the further you get, the more intense it becomes. Every five levels, you regain health and have an opportunity to upgrade. Every other five levels, you encounter a boss. The Boss fights take you out of the overhead view and take you into a 3rd person perspective. It adds a change that keeps things fresh. At first, I felt the slow gameplay was a turn-off, but the more I play the more fun the game felt. The Clean and Crisp 3d Graphics and futuristic soundtrack lend to the feel and the fun by keeping the mood. With a ton of weapons to unlock and random drops on stage, you've always got some extra variety. Everything is done in a futuristic theme with robots, we have 4 ships to choose from, which have different main weapons. Of course, why would you do that if you could just make it detachable modules, but oh well.

    So this is a simple shooter. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. Done simply, few levels, enemies too. Yes, they are nice to destroy, but no more. There are only three bosses, there are also few levels, although there are many variations of levels, but they all feel the same. The idea is not bad, but the game as a whole feels mediocre and insipid. You can try, but only for fans of the genre and only if all other games have already been tried.
