    Hexologic, the mathematical puzzle game, came to Xbox One to make us discover another mode of entertainment. Fun guaranteed for children and adults.

    For a puzzle-specific game, Hexologic isn’t half bad. The game’s short length and its lack of any real challenge will no doubt deter player favor, though, in the face of its decent pace, its accessibility, and its constant introduction of new mechanics, these flaws are somewhat bearable. It’s a game that’s easy to recommend for what it gets right, but I would caution against picking this up if you’re simply looking to be tested.

    On one hand, Hexologic is a gentle and calming puzzle game, and is a great way to unwind on an evening. But then on the other, the menu design, layout and general lack of direction are a complete paradox to the game and will cause more frustration than any of the puzzles will.

    Hexologic is a puzzle game about mathematics which was always my strongest subject all the way thru college. I did however find the puzzles to be a tad easy even on the highest difficulty setting. Fortunately this didn’t stop me from wanting to play the game as I'm a huge fan of the puzzle genre. While overall I found Hexologic was on the easy side, the puzzles do have a decent amount of variety within them. The main reason why there was variety, was thanks to the different mechanics the game introduces along your journey and this did keep things from becoming stale. Once you complete the game though there is little reason for you to play it again, so if you’re looking for a puzzle game that features replay ability you won’t find it in Hexologic. You’ll also not find anything here that makes this game stand out above the many other puzzle games as the presentation or feeling of satisfaction lacked in terns of overall presentation or shine and could have felt more rewarding for completing the levels with a more energetic presentation. Hexologic isn’t a bad puzzle game but it definitely isn’t for everyone and it does have certain things that hold it back. Hexologic probably does enough to get a recommendation from me as a puzzle genre fan, just don't expect too much from it and enjoy what it does offer and you should be pleased as the games reasonably priced for anyone looking for a new puzzle game or any achievement hunters looking for an easy 1000 gamerscore.… Full Review »
