Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a game with utter chaos wherever you travel and this is this game’s strongest asset is that no matter how many times you fail, it makes you want to come back for more punishment. Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a shooter and the main goal is to defeat every varied enemy that appears similar to the classic Gauntlet in regards to killing spawning enemies.Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a game with utter chaos wherever you travel and this is this game’s strongest asset is that no matter how many times you fail, it makes you want to come back for more punishment. Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a shooter and the main goal is to defeat every varied enemy that appears similar to the classic Gauntlet in regards to killing spawning enemies. The premise sounds simple enough, but don’t let that fool you because the game definitely packs quite the challenge. I enjoy games that challenge me, and Hellmut: The Badass from Hell has an excellent balance of fun at the same time. The only real frustration I had from Hellmut: The Badass from Hell was the fact that obtaining some of the items does require a bit of grinding. Grinding won't be a problem if played in shorter sessions, because the game features an array of different characters that all have their own uniqueness about them. Playing as each character is fun because of the uniqueness each provides in it's own way. Hellmut: The Badass from Hell has a few technical issues but it still gets more right than it gets wrong. Looking past the lack of content and lack of depth in the gameplay shouldn’t be much of an issue, especially to fans of games of the genre. Hellmut: The Badass from Hell might not be the best shooter available on the Xbox One, but it’s definitely a decent addition to the genre and if you’re a fan of these types of games then you’ll definitely enjoy what it offers. It takes you on an action-packed journey filled with lots of hellish moments thanks to the fantastic art-style and sound design. So go to hell and back with Hellmut: The Badass from Hell on your Xbox One and enjoy the ride. Expand

Ambitious dualstick action with randomly generated levels and love-it-or-hate-it retro-design that mostly unsuccessful tries to emulate games like Enter the Gungeon.

It may not bring massive changes to the genre table, and it may rely on a tried and tested formula, but there’s no denying that it’s a solid experience that offers a few good hours of fun, plenty of replayability and comes ready for newcomers and veterans alike to get stuck into the madness.

A fast-paced twin-stick shooter that doesn't do a lot to stand out but offers a blast of fun in short doses.
