    The presentation side of the game isn’t perfect I quite liked the atmosphere that both the visuals and sound design created. The story is very minamilist but I enjoyed what was present here because it sets the scene well and it makes you want to get revenge for Sergeant Will. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a lot for you to get to grips with and the content that is available to you lacks in terms of variety. The gameplay gets repetetive very quickly and there’s no diversity which means you end up getting very bored. I found the weapons in the game to be a little lacklustre because they all basically felt the same and there wasn’t really anything exciting about them. The game does feature some upgrades and customisation these upgrades and customisation options don’t really feel like they do anything. Each stage in the Campaign Mode is bereft of any character and the environments present don’t do anything to rectify this. Back in the day I had a lot of fun and memorable times when it came to the rail shooter genre. Unfortunately though there hasn’t been many game’s in recent years that have released in this specific genre so as you can imagine with me being a fan I was looking forward to the release of Heavy Fire: Red Shadow. After playing the game though this excitement soon dwindled because the game just has far too many shortcomings and issues. A rail shooter should always be fun and satisfying but you don’t get that with this game and instead all you get is a game that offers you boring content with no variety whatsoever. I was hoping then that the shooting elements would save the game but unfortunately it doesn’t. Each weapon feels and plays the same way and the upgrades and customisation options don’t do anything to rectify the situation either. The missons present in the game don’t help the situation as well and whilst I enjoyed the presentation side of the game in parts the environments did ultimately lack character. At the end of the day then I suggest that you steer clear of Heavy Fire: Red Shadow because it doesn’t get very much right and in the end it’s just a boring and dull game that fails to capture your imagination.… Expand

    Fun defender game! VERY time consuming.

    I loved ever bit of the 8-10 hours I played last night. Had so much fun, I ended up playing beating it for a second time right after the first playthrough. Spent endless hours on "Endless Mode" After I beat the Campaign. Got to wave 56, After about wave 50 or so, The frame rate dropped like crazy, And crawled almost to a complete stop. Slow-mo    Fun defender game! VERY time consuming.

But after one run through it, You should be able to breeze right through it. Don't forget to check out the "Endless Mode" A few achievements are pretty grind heavy. The game overall is VERY time consuming, But has a lot of replay value. The only bad part aside from the minor frame rate issue in "Endless Mode" Is my right hand hurts from playing too much!    … Expand

    If you like arcade types of games where you're standing in one place and basically on a shooting spree, by all means this is your type of game. However, if you're looking for an action packed, heart racing, engaging FPS, I don't feel Heavy Fire: Red Shadow is right for you. Sorry to say, I'll be aborting this mission.

    The whole Heavy Fire: Red Shadow experience feels like it should be on VR, and that may well be the best way to get anything out of this turret shooter. The price is too high as well – at least for anyone to take a punt on – and even though it does nothing wrong and all appears to work fine, it does become very repetitive quite quickly.

    Heavy Fire: Red Shadow is a head-scratcher. It does what it says it does and certainly contains an extended turret section that spans multiple hours with competent delivery from the development team. It’s also unpretentious, which is something I want to admire. That said, the results are tepid and this version, remarkably, feels like a step back from its already basic predecessors.
