Heaven Dust (HD) is a huge reference to classic Resident Evil (RE), especially the ps1 version of them. However, that's not a bad thing.

The game borrows heavily from its inspiration, things like music or sound effects are straight (or very close) to the PS1 originals, take for example the sounds of dogs in the distance when getting into a garden. The setting is a mansion, and things from gameplay like looking for clues for puzzles, keys to certain doors, and obviously, the zombies. However, HD does away with the "Tank" controls which can feel disappointing for fans of the original RE but it's understandable since they can be a hassle for newer players.
Tough, the game does feel kind of slow at points, not having a run option attached to a button is a huge miss, the shooting mechanic could have been improved for the console, and finally, the sound effects are a little too high and can't be adjusted.
So, in conclusion, this is a good indie game, if you are a fan of the original RE this could get a smile out of you.

Heaven Dust isn’t an awful game, but it has some awful parts. Uninspired gameplay and a lack of originality aren’t enough to make the game worth a recommendation. However, there’s just enough love put into that, perhaps, old-school Resident Evil fans could have a good time.

Heaven Dust presents itself as a downgraded take on the Resident Evil franchise and that's exactly what it is. There are some fun puzzles and old-school Resident Evil fans may get a kick out of exploring the mansion and finding all the similarities between it and Capcom's franchise, but otherwise it's hard to come up with a reason why most survival-horror enthusiasts would want to play this.

For existing fans, there is some joy to be had in this Resident Evil love letter. For those that never played the originals though, Heaven Dust isn’t a patch on the games that inspired it.
