Whilst Haven isn't the most ambitious and lengthy game out there, it certainly offers something "different". Think of it like this romantic space narrative adventure that combines a bit of Journey's magical and relaxing movement/exploration elements and add in partial survival mechanics mixed with a little bit of some nostalgic rpg-esque turn based battles. Think of it like this romantic space narrative adventure that combines a bit of Journey's magical and relaxing movement/exploration elements and add in partial survival mechanics mixed with a little bit of some nostalgic rpg-esque turn based battles. What really draws you in to this tiny little indie game is its JAW DROPPING ART AND MUSIC. Plus the fact you get to be a perv and intrude on a couples personal moments like a creep. Short, rather simple but a nice distraction and escape. Check it out on Game Pass and watch my short little review here: https://youtu.be/JgOdGz0vGfA Expand

Haven is the journey of two lovers that gave up everything and escaped to a lost planet to finally be together. Glide through a mysterious landscape, explore a fragmented world and fight against what’s trying to tear them apart in this RPG packed adventure about love, rebellion, and freedoms. Backing it are fundamental sound connections in light of the fact that regardless of how violent shared lives can be, your accomplice is consistently there to offer a consistent hand. Haven meshes that warmth into a delightful sci-fi RPG about the misfortunes of love crazed duo. Regardless of whether I was cheerfully getting ethereal waves on repulsive force boots, blitzing outsider critters during energizing turn-based fights, or simply zesting up suppers, it was magnificent seeing its heroes' charming relationship seep into each movement. Furthermore, those highs hit that a lot harder in the splendid center mode. However, every sound relationship implies being willing to endure issues, and for Haven's situation that implies choosing to disregard significant length of required, tedious asset gathering across infertile scenes. With an irregular way to deal with pretending games that centers around the relationship of its hero couple as the story as well as its mechanics, Haven stands apart from each other science fiction experience that I've played. Were it not for soul-crushingly repetitive rust tidying and slope searching taking up such a large amount of the mission's runtime, Haven might've solidified itself as an unequaled incredible RPG. Nonetheless, the exciting stream rides, agreeable battle, specifically proper interpretation of center, and startlingly human connection between its leads compensate for any depressed spots. Regardless of anything else, Haven demonstrates that affection overcomes all. I can confidently nudge you to the Xbox digital games store to grab this one, especially if you can find it on sale. The price of admission is well packaged as the games experience so you won’t be disappointed. Expand

Expand

Absolutely stellar writing and dialogue. I will dip into this game every year or so for a long time to come, just to spend a sunday afternoon with this wonderfully realistic and relatable couple. The gameplay is good enough, but not the main attraction

Haven is a fun and endearing little gem coming from the indie developer Game Bakers. You might know them from their previous title, Furi. Both titles are excellent, but Haven is a much different game in terms of the vibe that it gives off. Very chill and relaxing. You can play Haven solo or co-op. I've heard the co-op is great, but I played it by myself. The game centers around two lovers,Haven is a fun and endearing little gem coming from the indie developer Game Bakers. You can play Haven solo or co-op. I've heard the co-op is great, but I played it by myself. The game centers around two lovers, Yu and Kay, who escape a planetary system known as the Apiary so that they can be together. Think of Romeo and Juliet, if Romeo and Juliet managed to survive and escape. The gameplay mechanics are relatively simple. You spend most of your time gliding along flow streams (their form of energy), similar to the game Journey. You can collect rust - basically a corrupted form of flow - and use it to construct different items and power ups. The goal is to clear each planetary fragment of rust pockets, tame the various creatures that you encounter, explore your surroundings and uncover some of the mysteries surrounding the planet Source and the backstory of your characters. Yu and Kay are really the stars of the show. Their relationship feels authentic and real, and mirrors the ups, downs and silly moments that couples have in real life. I really enjoyed watching their interactions, whether that be cooking, having a drink of Applebrew, or just talking in the Nest and hanging out. They get my vote for best video game couple. The soundtrack is perhaps one of the best that I have ever heard. It was composed by the electronic musician Danger, who I think also did the soundtrack for Fury. Give this game a chance. It's not perfect, but it really sticks with you. For $25, it's a steal. Expand
