    Habrxia 2 is set in the aftermath of a brutal attack on space, humanity sends scout ships to the star system that was at the source of the assault. Habroxia 2 is a non-linear, old-school space shooter with upgrades, twenty plus boss fights, and even New Game+. Habroxia 2 is a non-linear, old-school space shooter with upgrades, twenty plus boss fights, and even New Game+. All this wrapped in a retro package combining pixel style graphics, chip-tunes, and stellar gameplay. This follow up to the previous game Habroxia offers special weapons, sixty four ship upgrades, a solid story and even a boss rush mode. As a fan of the original game the sequel offers even more for fans of 2D shooting to enjoy. Again the strong points are all there, value, play mechanics, and accessibility which are also found in the first game. While nothing earth shattering new the genre really doesn’t require that to please fans of 2D retro stylized shooters this one also allows for 360 degree attack movement. With so many games to choose from on Xbox One there’s always room for classic stylized games in my library. If you also are a fan of the genre then you will likely agree this is a must dd to your Xbox One digital game library.… Expand

    Shiny pixels, nice music, and ho-hum gameplay do not make up for the areas in which Habroxia 2 on Xbox falters. Fans of the first Habroxia will likely be upset by the blatant copy and paste content, while anyone who hasn’t played the first could find a more interesting space shooter in many places.

    Habroxia 2 takes my love for old school arcade shooters and gives it a fresh, modern spin. It can be difficult early on, but I always felt I was making some progress thanks to the upgrade systems. Having a full 360 degree of attack movement is a breath of fresh air, as it being able to equip a couple of special attacks to help out. The 16-bit visuals are great (as is the soundtrack), the gameplay feel is spot on, and it doesn’t over stay its welcome at all.
