    This metroidvania took me around 6 and a half hours to complete and can be played with up to 4 player cooperatively…
    After hearing so many great things I as excited to go back and play this game before guacamelee 2 came out, and boy am I happy I did…
    admittedly guacamelee took so time to grow on me.. I didn’t instantly fall in love… at first I was a little confused why everyone loves it so much… sure the art style is nice and the game is full of humor.. But the gameplay, the platforming... it all felt super simple and button mashy… but as the game goes on it just gets better and better…
    no 2 hours of this game feels the same… the game slowly spoon feeds you new abilities that are mostly for traversing, allowing you to go back to past areas if you’d like for its collectables to help upgrade your health or endurance, but these also double as combat moves for the challenging and constantly engaging combat moments…
    the game increasingly gets challenging with both its platforming as well as with its enemies it introduces.. So you never feel like you’re just going through the motions... every minute of this game is engaging and keeps you hooked… there are costumes you can unlock to challenge you more or balance the character more towards your play style.. This is such a complete package from start to finish, a world that entices you to explore for its secrets, so many moments I would laugh out loud at the dialog, decently challenging bosses...
    I actually felt like bosses were more of the time to relax and breathe before you’re thrown back out into platforming through this world… guacamelee is wonderfully placed and is a must play game for platforming fans or metroidvania fans alike

    L'étron indé du jour se déroule au Mexique, n'affiche pas plus de 16 couleurs et est gaulé tout en "graphismes" carrés et angles droits, à croire que ç'a été barbouillé par les gamins attardés des stagiaires qui ont démoulé ce gros cake. Ils ont dû utiliser leurs règles toute neuves qu'ils avaient reçues pour la Rentrée, ceci expliquant cela.

    C'est évidemment de la plate-forme mongolienne et on regrettera l'absence du petit plombier à moustache ainsi que de tout champignon magique. On se consolera en tapant sur des tonneaux de tequila et Dieu sait qu'il en faut de la tequila pour "jouer" à un truc pareil.

    On cognera aussi sur des ennemis échappés du folklore mexicain, on bourrinera plutôt dessus puisqu'il faut les taper comme dans un jeu de baston et enchaîner les cons-bos, dans cette version "Super Mongolito **** Edition" ici.

    Voilà donc l'étron criard et de mauvais goût et "frais", tellement "frais" qu'on te l'emballe dans du papier-journal comme la poisscaille avariée du marché. Du coup, la console se met à sentir très fort, il faut tout passer au karcher après !    … Expand

    This is a fantastic game. Plain and simple. If you enjoyed any of the metroid games or something in that vein, give this a try. It is one of the few games I have replayed so far for the Xbox One and I did just about everything you could possibly do in it. It's simple enough for newbies and definitely has some challenging bits for the more experienced. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now keep inThis is a fantastic game. Plain and simple. It is one of the few games I have replayed so far for the Xbox One and I did just about everything you could possibly do in it.     This is one of the best game I've played on my Xbox One, the story is attractive and there's a lot of good jokes in this game. I love the game mechanics and easy controls. The single player campaign is not too short not too long and the bosses are challenging. The 2D graphic design of this game is also why I love it so much, it's really colorful and beautiful.     Really loved the fact that this is a 2 player co-op game that doesn't require an online service to play. The guys over at DrinkBox Studios did a great job at bringing a comical twist to this plat former which strung me along to the end. I got this during the xbox live game of the month for free but would definitely pay for it if you missed your chance.

    Guacamelee! Is a well made and intensely challenging platformer. Quite pretty to the eye and definitely had me coming back to finish it.

    Highly recommended.

    I got this free, so lets review a gift horse? Bot boring... not compelled to play more than 30 mins... maybe because it was free. The game is well polished and slick controls.

    Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is a fun experience. The gameplay is good, and the story is funny. My only complaint is that it throws a lot of new systems at the player at once.

    Fighting is fun especially with friend on the second controller. Got couple of laughs during the story but voice acting would have completed it. Some moments of platform jumping puzzles took me away from the enjoyment but they can be overlook. Mainly I took two points away from the perfect score because this genre is dated.

    Fun, nice artsyle and a somewhat difficult metroidvania title. Easy? Don't use video guides then, try and solve its puzzles by yourself first. Well worth checking out.

    What a great game!!! Just bought it to try something light (while I wait for Arkham Knight) and it was very surprising. Even it is very steoretyped it is also wonderful, the way it feels, the graphics and all the open 2d world is very impressive. Finally a nice, simplistic game to remember since Super Mario World.

    Picked this one up for free with Games for Gold. While the story isn't the best, I really enjoyed both the fighting and platforming/puzzle elements. But where this game really shines is the co-op experience. A buddy and I ran through the game in about 9 or 10 hours while doing most of the side stuff and collecting all of the items in the game. Overall a fun game, especially with a friend,Picked this one up for free with Games for Gold. While the story isn't the best, I really enjoyed both the fighting and platforming/puzzle elements.     This is quite frankly and in all seriousness one of the best video games I have ever played and is the BEST platformer/Metroidvania game I have EVER PLAYED! I have beaten over 130 video games, yet besides guild wars and guild wars 2 I had never done 100% map completion in any other games but I most certainly did in G:STCE. I ALSO did 100% (1000 achievement points) achievements which IThis is quite frankly and in all seriousness one of the best video games I have ever played and is the BEST platformer/Metroidvania game I have EVER PLAYED! I have beaten over 130 video games, yet besides guild wars and guild wars 2 I had never done 100% map completion in any other games but I most certainly did in G:STCE. I ALSO did 100% (1000 achievement points) achievements which I had never done in my life on any xbox, xbox 360, or xbone game. The game scales appropriately for "perfect" ending and hard mode as well. It is fun regardless what you do and the humor is fantastic. BUY THIS GAME!… Expand

    boring. very boring. feels and looks like a cheap IOS game. i have played much better games like this on my phone which are free, and this isnt worth the space it takes up on the console

    It was a game that I started to have been freely given to members of the Xbox Live and I swear I was surprised, the game is fantastic, and holds you for hours and hours, very good, I loved it!

    One of the most surprising good times I've had all year long. Hope you were able to pick it up for free last month, if not, it's still worth the time and the money. Great co-op, not to be missed.

    When this first came out on xbox ones games with gold i was skeptical because i wasn't a fan of the setting it was in but i thought id give it a try and boy was i surprised. First off the visuals in the game are nice and the music score is surprisingly pleasant and had a upbeat spirit to it. If this game was only single player it would be rated a 7 but the co-op puts it up to 9 because of how fun it is to do puzzles and fight enemy's with a friend. I have so many good laugh's when i play this with my friend's.     I got this game yesterday for free on XBOX ONE and I thought it had online co-op but just split screen. But that did'nt stop me from playing more of it! It is a great platformer with (unlike the other) Bundled in DLC and other new areas to explore. It has lush animated graphics and environments. In short, get this game!

You'll pass a series of challenging tests using powers gained from statues; statues that you break, statues owned by a goat man. Some of these amazing abilities include Pollo    Guacamelee is hilarious, challenging, and worth $15.

    The game is a platformer, so make sure you are willing to play in a 2D environment. Run around, break chests, and kill things; that's the fun - oh, and all the hilarity and cameos. I've seen references to Goat Simulator, VVVVVV, Binding of Isaac, N+, Castle Crashers, and more.

    I guess I have to mention the cons. The only problem is I can't really think of any. Perhaps the game could be longer, but I got it while it was free, so I'll live. Really, this game is close to flawless. It's worth 15 dollars, and DEFINETLY worth being free.

    Overall, anyone who has the patience to accept death a few times on the harder obstacles should get this. Good job, devs. This is a true piece of art.    … Expand

    I am very impressed with the details of this game, Definitely DrinkBox Studios performed a great job with that, the music is short repetitive, the gameplay is outstanding and the parodies are another level.

    In context, the game is quite short, fun and challenges you to play again. Undoubtedly I want a sequel.

    Never got a chance to play the original. This game is exceptional. Amazing. Easily among the top two or three metroidvania games ever. And free for xbox one? Just exquisite.

    It's an ok game, gets fairly repetitive after a while and is fairy easy and short, though playing with a friend is worth some fun, and overall its pretty enjoyable I would recommend, if you're interested, getting this while it's free on Xbox 1, wouldn't be worth full price in my opinion.

    Guacamelee is a fusion of intense platforming and beat-em-up combat, framed in Metroidvania conventions and topped off with a memorable cast, distinct setting, a stellar soundtrack, and zesty humor. These ingredients combine to make for a flavor that’s genuinely fresh and incredibly satisfying.

    Guacamelee was already a great game, and while not all of the extras for Super Turbo Championship Edition are beneficial, it's tough to say the grand experience isn't better for their inclusion.
