    Charming little game’s are sometimes better than the massive blockbusters because at times you can tell that a lot more thought and effort has gone into these little game’s. Don’t get me wrong at times I love nothing more than playing a big AAA title but every now and then it’s nice to play a game that offers you a nice relaxing pace without being littered with extra details. Don’t get me wrong at times I love nothing more than playing a big AAA title but every now and then it’s nice to play a game that offers you a nice relaxing pace without being littered with extra details. Gnomes Garden 3: The Thief of Castles is a game that offers you a nice relaxing experience and whilst it has a few imperfections none of them are major which in turn means you enjoy the game quite a lot. The gameplay is mostly about strategy and thankfully the strategy elements have been done really well. One thing I enjoyed about the gameplay is that it’s really easy to understand and in my opinion they’ve got the perfect balance of being fair and challenging at the same time. By doing this it means you want to carry on with your adventure and that’s a good thing because in terms of content the game has multiple hours for you to sink your teeth into. The content on the whole is pretty varied and will no doubt satisfy people who like strategy game’s, but you will bump into a few niggly technichal issues every now and then. Thankfully though these technichal issues aren’t too problematic and you will end up forgetting about them in the end. One of the main reasons why you end up forgetting about the issues is down to the game’s very enjoyable story. I must admit that I didn’t expect to enjoy the story as much as I did but it proved me wrong at every turn and in the end it kept me invested throughout and in a way it made me grow quite attached to the characters in the story. These characters are charming to say the least and defeating the enemies the game delivers to you actually felt like it mattered. Speaking about the enemies they are actually pretty cleverly designed but unfortunately there just isn’t enough of them for me and a few more different enemies would’ve been a nice addition. Without a doubt one of my favourite aspects about this game was its presentation. Visually the game has a really nice old-school vibe dotted throughout and this does bring the different environments to life quite considerably. The sound design is also something I enjoyed and in the end both the visuals and sound design combine together to create a very fun and immersive experience. At the end of the day Gnomes Garden 3: The Thief of Castles offers you great value for your money. If you have any interest in the strategy genre then you will find something here that will tickle your fancy and in the end it gets more things right than it gets wrong which means it gets a decent recommendation from me.… Expand

    All in all, Gnomes Garden 3: The Thief of Castles isn’t a bad game. There are a lot of levels to beat, and even if they do get a little repetitive, there is still a small draw to seeing what the next stage brings. It’s a nice, cute game let down only by a dodgy control method and a general feeling of deja vu.

    Gnomes Garden 3’s asking price is a generous one, and I wont deny that there’s more than enough content to justify its cost several times over. However, that doesn’t cover up the fact that the game’s core loop just doesn’t maintain its initial excitement throughout. This is fun in short bursts, but everything you’ll see here has already been done a thousand times before, to a better degree, I might add. Pay a cheap price, get a cheap game.
