    Gigantosaurus: This colourful game based on the Disney Junior tv series is a game I was eager to play more than any grown man should care to admit. The gameplay on Gigantosaurus is very simple, while being a platformer it has been toned down to make it playable for all ages. The gameplay on Gigantosaurus is very simple, while being a platformer it has been toned down to make it playable for all ages. While the target audience may ultimately be aimed at parents buying their younger children a new game or something very young children who are unable to play can enjoy, the game is actually enjoyable enough for older people and parents (like myself) to enjoy and take a break from maybe more serious games. With visual aids to help ensure no getting lost and using a selection of the dinosaurs available with a simple switch mechanic and different areas to explore once one is complete, each area big enough to ensure there is plenty to explore for curious minds both young and old alike. With the ability to have 1-4 players even friends and family can join in on the fun and use teamwork to complete the tasks using the skills / abilities of thei dinosaur. Visually as you would expect from a game aimed at a younger audience, offers up bright colours, plenty of contrast and cartoon styled characters with plenty of variety. However, I did notice now and again when the camera gets close to your dinosaur you may experience what looks like your dinosaur struggling to fully render in and get black spots in some situations, however these occassions wasn't too common and nothing overly damaging to the experience. The voiceover plays out like a somewhat story telling to a child, older players may find this offputting though and the option is there to skip, however when in front of the target audience I feel the voiceover is great and is captivating enough to hold attention and bring the young player into the world and invest them into their little dinosaur squad. Overall: Great game for children and a fun casual platformer for the older audience. If you got young gamer kids then this is a good game to add to your library, if you enjoyed the likes of Spyro then again good game for you if you can overlook the childlike presentation to the game.… Expand

    A would-be bland, but harmless kids’ platformer that, due to insulting levels of gameplay padding, crosses over into dreadful territory. Truly, it’s hard to imagine anyone enjoying this tedious, personality-devoid bore of a game.

    If I were to recommend Gigantosaurus to anyone, it would be best suited for kids aged 7-10 years old, and fans of the show of course. I feel like the story is basic enough to understand that kids will hopefully feel engaged. I will not recommend Gigantosaurus to anyone over the age of 10 years old though. I find that a certain people will enjoy this, but I feel like the negatives are outweighing the small positives Gigantosaurus has to offer. As for my view, Gigantosaurus should have developed a little more before coming out of its shell. Gigantosaurus: the Game is simply a gigantic basic kids game and nothing more.

    Gigantosaurus is exactly the kind of licensed tripe that made licensed games practically extinct in the first place. There’s the occasional glimpse of fun, but it’s hidden amongst a cretaceous tar pit of mundanity.
