Where Gears 4 was a disappointment, 5 is a lot more polished and the script was actually interesting. Graphics are top-tier for this generation of gaming and the controls are as smooth as butter. Didn’t realize there would be such an impactful choice at the end and the game would have an open ending! Can’t say this entry is anything special, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction!… Expand

    The Coalitions has made Gears of War 4-5 amazing games that both Continue the Amazing story telling and action from the original Trilogy, but without making them feel like that these games are relying on the past. Gears 5 story feels fresh, the characters are well written, the Muliplayer is fun and engaging, and the Horde mode brings in a level of varity that a lot of games in this genreThe Coalitions has made Gears of War 4-5 amazing games that both Continue the Amazing story telling and action from the original Trilogy, but without making them feel like that these games are relying on the past. Gears 5 story feels fresh, the characters are well written, the Muliplayer is fun and engaging, and the Horde mode brings in a level of varity that a lot of games in this genre lack.     The combat and mobility of this game is very strange, the movement in general is something for people who really like TPS, in addition to the empty open world, story and lukewarm development, the game can even deliver very good graphics, but nothing too much.

    Gears 5 was honestly a surprise for me, while the story this time around isn't that interesting, the gameplay mechanics are arguably the best in the series, the game feels very smooth to play, and the new additional mechanics are good.

    It also includes two very open areas which you can explore in order to unlock new abilities or learn more things about the world.     It also includes two very open areas which you can explore in order to unlock new abilities or learn more things about the world. There aren't many things you can't do in them, and the side quests are very generic, but it's a nice attempt to make the game more re-playable and fun.

    Lastly, the game takes a while to pick up, the pacing is sometimes weak and the desert area drags quite a lot, but in the end it's definitely a worthwhile experience.

    As for the multiplayer, it works well, there's a decent amount of game modes to choose from, and there are many customization options.

    While very beautiful, the game protagonist didn't click with me, the AI allies aren't that smart or helpful.
    Story was meh at best.

    Para mim esse é o segundo melhor gears, história fantástica, gráficos lindos, gameplay maravilhosa. Só fica em segundo porque o felling de jogar gears of war 2 foi o melhor pra mim, mas gears 5 é fantástico não erra em nada.

    Im returning to this game years later and still a bugfest. It is not an engaging game, and very repatative, though with some fun moments throughout.

    Um dos melhores exclusivos que o Xbox tem.Esse jogo é perfeito em cada detalhe, imersivo, gráfico lindo, gameplay desafiadora e frenética, merecia o Goty mas infelizmente não se encaixa nos padrões dos jornalistas que mal sabem pegar um controle. Perfeito!!!

    Good combat, good story, pretty bland open world snow and desert section but was fun using the sled to travel. Haven't played the other Gears of war games so not too invested in the story but it was decent enough. A large variety of enemies and satisfying weapons kept the game quite interesting. Also missions felt quite distinct from each other, which is a big plus.     way more interesting story the Gears of war 4, and alot of new fun and good ideas added to the campaign, this review is only about the campaign, but so far they improved alot but the game could have been so much more, they are definatly going to the right direction with the campaign

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it.     Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
