Aug 28, 2023A nice little campaign expansion, the new gameplay mechanics are great, but the story and the pacing are all over the place.
Sections getting repeated again and again, there are many times where you feel like you're doing the same thing.
It's alright, I enjoyed my time with it for the most part, but after a while I just wanted it to be over.
Final Rating: "Average" ~ 5/10. -

Apr 10, 2021Pretty good. Areas look amazing (not really a gears of war vibe as much as a traditional western fantasy look tho) end boss design looks unreal. Main issue is the ending is awful, as it tries to convince you the ending to the dlc is the new multiplayer mode, which is an awful choice.

Feb 24, 2021Great graphics and physics, the story it’s what you can expect from a gears dlc enjoyable but not the most important part of the dlc. Good shooting as expected and probably the best graphic design available on Xbox series X at the moment.

Banda sonora y efectos de sonido de 10, jugabilidad perfecta. No puedo creerme que un DLC tenga esta calidad. Supera a la gran mayoría de juegos de 60€.

Jan 19, 2021Gears 5: Hivebusters is an expansion I didn’t know I needed. It’s on the shorter end of story campaigns, but makes every minute worth it. It tells such a cool story with great new characters. The environments are beautiful and the gameplay is crisp and superb. I would definitely recommend picking it up.

Jan 5, 2021This fine piece of campaign DLC is for those of us who wanted the main stars of the Escape Mode to be more interesting. This is their origin story, and its a great reason to revisit Gears 5 - if only for a few short but sweet hours.

Dec 25, 2020This is definitely one of the best Gears games. The Coalition’s mastery over Unreal Engine proves itself here. Not to mention the story which not only, and quite gladly, doesn’t involve the Fenix family, it expands upon a universe we were all in love with.

Dec 24, 2020just finished the hivebuster dlc. I can say that I am thrilled! a little over 5 hours non-stop Action (played on Insane). The Visuals are impressive, the story is in my opinion very good and the fights are more demanding than in the main game. hope there is more to see from the Scorpio Squad. maybe even a meeting in Gears 6?

Jan 4, 2021Hivebusters feels like a proper expansion pack to Gears 5 rather than a tacked-on DLC that was really just removed from the main game. The Coalition clearly put a lot of work into this add-on. Though it doesn’t feel like that full step forward that a sequel would be, Hivebusters remains a robust experience and an essential one for Gears fans.
