FullBlast is an average scrolling shooter that will provide enjoyment for an hour or two. The main problem is that it is far too easy, and its ideas are consistently being stretched too thin. It doesn’t do anything new or different, and what it does do doesn’t quite add up to the full package.

The presentation side of the game isn’t the best I’ve ever seen I actually enjoyed the retro feel both the visuals and sound design deliveredThe presentation side of the game isn’t the best I’ve ever seen I actually enjoyed the retro feel both the visuals and sound design delivered to me. There is a decent amount of variety present when it comes to the enemies you face in the game. I liked the inclusion of a local co-op mode because it does make the gameplay more fun when played this way. The controls hold up really well throughout your time with the game and I was pleased that everything remained fluid and responsive at all times. The game is incredibly easy even on hard and it won’t take you long to complete the game. For me the boss battles didn’t make much of an impact and there wasn’t really much that stood out in these battles.
There is not enough variation when it comes to your weapon and the power-ups you can pick up along the way. The lack of a multiplier mechanic harms the game’s replaybility and this does make returning back to the game a little bit pointless. Does FullBlast do enough to get a recommendation from me? As far as shmup’s go FullBlast is probably in the average category because it has a few shortcomings and nothing much really stands out. That being said it does still get some things right and it isn’t a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. Instead the main problem with FullBlast is its inability to offer anything new and right from the get go this is a game you’ve seen many times before. Thankfully even though you’ve probably experienced a game like this many times before it still offers you some fun and enjoyable moments especially when played with a friend in local co-op. When you play the game this way you tend to forget about the lack of variety when it comes to the weapons and power-ups available to you because playing with a friend always makes things that little bit more interesting. This then means the game does just enough to get a small recommendation from me but there are better game’s out there for you to get to grips with first.
