Freedom Finger: Self proclaimed as a "Bat Sh*t crazy space shooter, Freedom Finger does nothing but live up to it's promise. Gameplay is offered up in intense 2D side scrolling spaceship blasting goodness. As you make your way through the game facing ever stranger foes while following the orders of a crazy General, Freedom Finger is not for a second dull or boring, it is a very strange game and a great concept and had me laughing as well as furrowing my brow and poking my tounge out in concentration at the latest crackpot boss fight. With amusing characters, a funny story line and good voice acting, Freedom Finger dishes out the fun times. Freedom Finger is a 2D side scrolling shooter, it looks great with plenty of color, well designed enviroments and animations and well drawn characters, in what I would describe as an Adult Cartoon kind of style. Overall: I would recommend getting this game to everyone. It's fun, can be played casually but ramp up the setting for a harder time. If you want something fun this is the game for you. I genuinely haven't laughed and smiled at a game this way in quite a while. Expand

Just came back and played the new Aesop Rock levels. DOPE tracks! Freedom Finger still has that crazy story line and acting. Great shmup to come back to. Hope they drop more new levels soon too!

I love that Freedom Finger sticks it, quite literally, to any expectations or tropes of the shmup genre. It’s tough, puerile and loud, while being thoughtful, creative and satirical. The music is fantastic, the challenge rewarding, and its only real hindrance is the ability of your fingers and thumbs.

If you're new to bullet hell shooters, I don't recommend that you start with Freedom Finger. It's a challenging game in a challenging genre. Anyone who enjoys a good shmup, though, would be remiss to miss the opportunity to play this game. You'll love that Freedom Finger isn't just another bullet hell clone and that it will really challenge your skills.

Taking its off-the-wall sense of humour into account or not, there's no denying that Freedom Finger is a great shmup in every sense.
