Freakout: Calamity TV Show is a Top-Down Twin-Stick shooter. This game is extremely reminiscent of Smash TV. You've been taken from your life and dropped into the Calamity TV Show a gladiator arena from the future. Given a gun, you're subjected to waves of enemies, and then a boss before you're sprung free. Now you have to make it to the rebellion's base, but you have to survive the town.Freakout: Calamity TV Show is a Top-Down Twin-Stick shooter. This game is extremely reminiscent of Smash TV. You've been taken from your life and dropped into the Calamity TV Show a gladiator arena from the future. Given a gun, you're subjected to waves of enemies, and then a boss before you're sprung free. Now you have to make it to the rebellion's base, but you have to survive the town. That's easier said than done, as your guide doesn't know the way, and the mutants have been released on the city. The gameplay is nearly non-stop action as you blast your way through countless enemies. As you progress along the story, you'll unlock new weapons and abilities to use against your adversaries. I personally preferred the Assault Riffle you start with for MOST of the stages, though Akimbo and Shotgun are nice too. The action and the soundtrack mesh together nicely, and the music doesn't have time to get stale, though it's so well-fitting, I doubt it could. This game can go from manageable to hell in the blink of an eye, and bosses are large and fast. Though like most Twin-Stick shooter games Bosses have patterns, that once learned are easy enough to predict. If you're in the market for an intense and brutal game then Freakout has you covered! From my time with Freakout: Calamity TV Show on Xbox One, there has been a multitude of issues that required restarting levels, but the general gameplay structure is interesting enough to account for it. The gameplay itself is solid, and this could be a fantastic title if it had just a little bit more care put into it.

It may look generic at first but once you dive deep into Freakout: Calamity TV Show, you'll be impressed with its over-the-top gameplay.
