Even with some of the same reused carboard cutouts for fans, these minor blemishes are easily overlooked because of the attention to detail in the areas that truly matter.

Sound design is as good as ever, with crackles, burbles, and all the intoxicating sounds to make every race all the more exhilarating. The music is more carry over from Forza 5, and I prefer it off, but it is refined and made bearable for those that love some epic scores set to their races. The menu music is soft and sets the "calm before the storm" mood perfectly.

Gameplay and physics are amazing, cars feel like they have weight, tires feel like they have a limit and the puddles change everything when hitting them.

Overall, anyone with a Xbox One that may even be remotely interested should pick this game up. And for those that do not have a Xbox One and love racing games, should buy one. Forza 6 is that good.

What can I say. The best Forza ever, the best racing game on this generation of consoles. Forza 5 seemed to be unfinished work. Forza 6 is a different story. That's the beauty in pure form.

    - Car handling may look the same from youtube, but trust me it is so much better than Forza 5's. I can actually drive the 458 and Ariel Atom this time. Suspension and steering feel on a controller at least is much better, as if they now tell you what is happening to the car, then you know what to do to fix it and it works like clockwork.
    - The puddles with the rain may sound gimmicky, but they really do change up the course. E.g. a large pool of standing water on a highspeed kink forces you attack it at a different angle lest you slide off the track, which makes things interesting when you're 2-wide with an opponent.
    - Night, I like how dark the place becomes. And racing with cars that don't have headlights online is just hilarious fun.
    - 24 car races may not make the biggest difference in single player, but online it makes it much more exciting. Well, unless you only want to win, because it's really hectic. Personally I find it enjoyable ducking and weaving through massive pileups, and there's more chances of finding someone to battle it out during a race.

So far, for me, this is the best forza motorsport yet. However there are people who want certain features e.g. auction house, storefronts, car gifting/clubs, being able to select cars for ai to drive, to return. Along with that, there is still room for improvement for the career mode, making it more structured like codemasters racers, and adding qualifying so that sp races aren't overtake simulators all the time.

However, for what it is, it's still a robust racing game that has a large car list with wide variety, and every car is modifiable, leading to endless possibilities of four-wheeled beasts that you could drive on 26 of the best circuits around the world.

I used to love playing GT back in the day and NFS, also great games but I can only play them so much. I just wish they would bring F6 to pc. And GODDAMN those head and taillights look good at night. Not sure how they're going to top this one. Bravo Zulu.

The highest point in the Forza franchise, a masterpiece. This is without a doubt the most beautiful, smooth, pleasant racing game on console.

There seems to be a lot a bashing of this game due to the lack of dynamic weather.. I for one don't see the issue. The majority of races in Forza are so short that the weather remaining constant is more of a reality than radically changing.

The new mod system is unnoticeable, none of the dares make huge impacts and to me it seems they were added to Aline the game with what halo 5 has done with adding REQ packs to the war zone mode, the only difference being that Halo 5 makes it worthwhile. the most annoying part of this game has to be that it was given a large graphical upgrade compared to 5 yet they came out on the same console, and like 5 and Horizon 2 this game has hundreds of 4-6 race championships that are painfully repetitive.
I would advise picking up Forza Horizon 2 instead, its open world, has a great soundtrack, a story mode with the single player experience and is way more fun. Forza 6 takes itself too seriously, which makes it extremely boring. If you need something else to do while binge watching on Netflix than this is the game for you (That's How I got through the first 50 hours of play time).

Just a generic speed rating.

I got fed up and quit playing for a long while. Then I gave Forza 6 another try, and found a drivatar setting that turns off aggressiveness. I run it at above avg or one step higher and usually get into 1st place within the first lap, so that's a good sign. But, any AI level higher fakes the cars rather than increasing actual driving skill which ruins the experience. The AI cars still crash stupidly around every corner. Such terrible AI. But at least they don't actively go after you with that setting turned off. They still accelerate without regard for the car's actual capabilities. Fake challenge.

Drivatar AI is so stupid it's almost unplayable solo in career mode. Out of 23 cars, the bottom 12 will just try to ram you off the track while the top 12 will speed up or slow down %-wise regardless of the cars' capabilities (such as top speed, which is ignored). This is supposed to be semi-pro/pro racing, and half the cars ram right into the player!? And Turn 10 thought that was a good idea? AS if that's how pro racing works? What is this, Daytona USA, circa 1995? At higher difficulty setting, the top 2 cars will accelerate like Star Wars pod racers regardless of the car, and then if you manage to pass them, they suddenly seem to have engine trouble because they fall WAY behind quickly.

Another thing that irritates me is you get a ton of money and free cars and really don't even have to work for them. I get that Turn 10 wants players to experience a lot of cars but there used to be a challenge to it. I also miss seeing ACTUAL component names and performance data. Now it's dumbed down to the point it's not fun at all for a gearhead. Since when did Ford make a 5.7L V8? Or a V12? That ruins the fun for me further beyond the driving problems.

Previous Forza games used actual hardware from real companies for upgrades, like Roush and Saleen equipment to upgrade Mustangs, and real Ford engines for engine swaps. Instead, it looks like every category has the same generic 5.7L engine upgrade: Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. Unless I missed something. That sucks. For the Fords, you should see the 5.0L (GT/Boss 302), the 5.2L GT350, the 5.8L GT500, etc engines. Such a shame. So much potential. And where is the Boss 302 Laguna Seca? Where are the REAL cars? After the 12th Lambo I have lose interest in supercars and want a real-world driving experience pitting real American cars against other real American cars--or maybe an exotic from time to time. No luck, the cars are too limited.

Forza 4 was far superior to this game in the most important aspects that matter to a racing fan. From the car upgrades to the car SELECTION to the AI, this is a downgrade. Besides larger scale tracks with dust and night and rain, the graphics aren't far enough beyond 4 to accept the dumbing-down of the game to this low level.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Disappointed to say the least. I'm not what you'd call a big gamer but have always enjoyed racing simulation games (not arcade) and every once in a while I do get addicted. Forza 4 was one of them. The mix of Cars, Gameplay, Career mode, Upgrading, Time attack, Graphics etc was fantastic at the time and eventually found myself quite high up leaderboards on most tracks in most classes of car. Now to Forza 6. After reading many great reviews and seeing the game I thought yep buy an x box one and Forza 6. Wrong move. First what's good about the game :- Yes the graphics are amazing, the amount of cars to choose from is also great, the fact you have rain and night time is also a nice addition but all that is superficial because what made Forza 4 great was the way you could drive the cars with precision shaving tenths of seconds of a lap to get higher up a leaderboard. The only problem usually came by just catching a yellow line by a fraction. With Forza 6 they have tried to make the car handling more realistic but with it being a game you don't get the feel that's needed for realism, so basically when you drive a track you are constantly wrestling the cars to stay on which actually takes all the fun out of driving them. Tiny movements of the stick create massive oversteer or understeer far too easily. Tiny touches of the brakes do the same as does moving the steering a little bit too much so the cars fly off the track far too easily. One of the great things about Forza 4 was, you would race a car, earn credits move up a level where you could pick a car of your choice. By using cars you would get affinity to that brand which in turn eventually allowed you free upgrades on that brand of car which was great. In Forza 6 all that has gone. Now when you go up a driver level you get a spin of a wheel which picks your prize for you either money or cars so you often end up with something you don't really want. Your affinity to a brand now earns you money but all your upgrades cost you this money as none are now free So where you used to be able to try out different combinations of upgrade to get the best mix for free now it'll keep costing you. In summary turn 10 have just taken away the most important things that made Forza 4 such a fantastic game and made Forza 6 a fantastic game to look at (if you look at most other reviews everybody bangs on about visual effects and graphics etc) but not really anything special to play. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Forza 6 is what Forza 5 should have been, consistent 60 fps, rain and night racing along with 450 cars, it great but it's not without its flaws, cars are far to heavy and under-steer far to much, damage modelling is decent better then GT but not as good as Project Cars. indie cars are a letdown, far to easy to drive with no real feedback as if it were just thrown into the game last minute. Sun glare is still a bit to strong on certain tracks and the 3D puddles are overused far to often. Tracks look very good and night racing is certainly tense and challenging. The AI are very inconsistent even turned up to a level that suits your driving style they can be to aggressive even though they are aware of your track position. I've often found myself being smashed from behind and then pulverised constantly until the last car has passed me, this is were I believe the AI has no idea how to react other then to stick to the track and ram you if it means following the course. The cars are modelled beautifully in and out and they sound fantastic for the most part, I have come across 1 or 2 vehicles that don't sound dead on to there real life counterparts, maybe there just a little to much distortion drowning out the more growly sound. Some of the smaller cars engine sounds are to exaggerated making them sound like V8 monsters, it's just overdone to me. Micro transactions are a poor chose by turn 10 and really annoyed me, for example I stumble across Paul walkers iconic Orange Supra in the Toyota Dealership from the first Fast and Furious film and I'm dead excited to test it out only to find that I must pay to drive it, turn 10 put the the DLC cars into the game but unfortunately they are locked behind a pay wall witch is completely ridiculous. Over all I found Forza 6 a solid racer with many positives and negatives, it's not for everyone and it's not accessible for everyone either but it's not a bad racer by any means. Expand

Say goodbye to Career mode. The Career mode is what made the Forza series so much fun - buying a crappy car, upgrading it to be more competitive in other classes, and racing it over and over. None of that exists in Forza 6. In the new Career mode, there are little races which require you to buy and drive a different car for every race. They even auto-upgrade your car to be competitive, a nice way of dumbing it down. All the little things in Forza 6 they changed, just ruined it compared to Forza 4 (the last Forza game I really enjoyed).

The list of terrible changes is long:
    - The menu system sucks. Buttons do different actions at different menus and it will forever confuse you.
    - Test drives start right away. Say goodbye to drag racing.
    - Test drives don't show your ghost. Say goodbye to learning the track or racing yourself.
    - Test drives don't save your laptimes. Say goodbye to recording hot laps.
    - You can only bring certain cars to certain race events. Say goodbye to driving a muscle car in aJapanese import race.
    - Career mode sucks, which I already explained above.
    - Rewards are completely random, it's literally a slot machine system, you get credits by getting lucky, not by driving better.

I'm a single-player kind of guy when it comes to racing sims. What I love to do is buy all the cars and thoroughly test them. Put them through the quarter mile, half mile, full mile, record the times. Drive them over and over at my favorite tracks racing my previous ghost and see how the upgrades affect performance. Taking a dinky Trueno and upgrading it to become a beast in Career mode and racing it against other cars. All of those things, I can no longer do in Forza 6. They improved the game mechanics but ripped out the game play in the process.

Yes, the tracks are well laid out and the cars are rendered almost to perfection. There is no doubting that the graphics and game-play physics are outstanding. It is indeed a fun game to play and look at, and with twenty four cars on the track, night racing, and rain, what could possibly go wrong? Sadly a lot, if you bought this game to enjoy a single player racing simulation experience. Where should I begin? Ah yes...

DRIVATARS: A great concept in theory, but flawed in it's execution. It's like Turn 10 decided that "If you don't want to race online, we'll bring online racing to you". Just as with 'Forza 5', you are stuck competing with Drivatars from various skill levels, which sadly means you are competing with people who chose to crate their Drivatar using full on arcade settings. For those of us who choose to race with all handicaps off, it puts at a disadvantage at times. The arcade mode Drivatars cling to the track like slot cars while your fighting through each turn hanging on for dear life. Even when you tune your car's handling, it can often times become impossible to hang with them. The game is in dire need of settings or options that allow you to add or delete certain drivers/Drivatars, as well a force all Drivatars to use the same setting you are using. Sadly I am being forced to race with friend's Drivatars who do not play racing games, but took the time to create Drivatars with full arcade settings. It has turned most of the racing into a smash up derby fest which has completely ruined career mode, and speaking of career mode...

CAREER MODE: 'Forza 6' is supposed to be a racing simulator to a certain extent, so one would expect "Career Mode" to simulate an actual racing career, where one rises through the ranks from the bottom to the top via seasons, qualifying laps, and point standings. Sadly that isn't the case here. Instead we get a pathetic grind that is more of an achievement mode than it is a career mode. It's an awful concept, where you can't advance unless you finish in the top three in each race. This can become a grind if you like to play with a competitive difficulty setting. You can find yourself growing frustrated as you are forced to play the same track over and over again. This leads to the temptation of lowering the difficulty level just so you can advance to the next track. Whoever came up with this concept should be shown the door, as they have ruined career mode which is one of the main reasons most play racing simulators in single player mode. It's supposed to be the heart and soul of games like this, but sadly 'Forza 6' had it's heart ripped right out and replaced with a flawed pile of cow manure.

Mind you, that it is advisable to tune your car, which is a bummer for those who like to race in stock right off the showroom floor cars. Still, if you want to advance, I advise that you tune the handling on your cars before you start throwing more power under the hood. If your car can't handle perfectly through the turns, all the power won't matter and you will not advance in "Career" Mode. of course there is the alternative Free Play...

FREE PLAY: This is the possible savior for those disappointed by the poorly executed "career" mode (or lack there of). They did a few things right here by allowing you to pick the number of laps and the track you wish to play, as well as automatically advancing to other tracks after you finish your race. Sadly there are some serious flaws as well. No practice laps before you race, just in case you want to tweak your tuning and try it out. Then there the lack of Drivatar options. Instead of being able to individually pick the cars of cars you wish to race against, your only option is picking the vehicle class and their drive train options. This creates unrealistically odd situations like heading into turn one at Watkins Glen in your Mercedes side by side with an SUV while passing a car that belongs in the Smithsonian. Want to create a race with only American muscle cars? Nope, sorry buddy, not going to happen here. Turn 10 doesn't think you need the freedom to do as such. It is truly a shame that nobody thought it wise to add such options in order to make Free Play truly free.

With that out of the way, yes, the game is still a lot of fun to play in short bursts, but due to the above stated, there is really nothing to strive for other than collecting cars, tuning them, and pushing them to their limits (or getting in wreck fests online). With no real career mode, a flawed free play mode, and the poorly executed drivatar concept, Turn 10 have taken what was the best console racing game to date two giant steps in the wrong direction. Had I known what I know now, I would not have bought this on release day and instead waited for it to hit the bargain bin. I suggest anyone reading this do the same.

I have bought Forza since it's first relase. I think the series must be near to an end unless Turn10 does somehting to improve the funfactor. Each release upgrades the graphics but it does nothing to make the gameplay more fun. The same tracks and races over and over again...I really miss the old rewarding point system of Project Gotham Racing making the game so much more fun and long lasting.

Driving is more realistic than ever. That I'm afraid is the only good thing. AI is so bad and blind to player actions that I stopped playing after 30 to 35 hours. This isn't a racing sim, it's destruction derby simulator. AI is constantly crashing into something. When AI ruins your game on the last lap of endurance race by deciding to brake in the middle of a straight without any reason so you crash into them.. Let's just say that I would rather cut my face off and wear it as a hat, than play this garbage anymore. Porsche DLC is an instant -5 from me. Porsche should already be in the game. AAA titles are worse and worse every year. I have had much more fun playing indie games lately. And more often I find myself picking up an older generation controller instead of ps4 or xbox one. Even nes and snes.

My score of 3 comes purely from physics and graphics which are both great. But the fact is, that isn't enough for a good racing game.

To start with and what everyone seems to point out is that the game is gorgeous. I could spend hours just using taking photos in the game because of how nice everything looks. What I look for the most in racing games is usually the amount of content it puts out, cars, tracks, how much detail you can put into your cars, and I have to say that 6 has everything I want. It has so many cars each being able to be viewed in the autovista which is awesome and I can customize everything as much as in the previous games and then some, which is perfect for me. Tuning is the same which is fine because it was perfect to begin with. Some people might complain "oh that's the same and that's the same" but that's exactly what I like, everything is the same but improved and not changing the game too much so that it's something different. Driving is fun as always and with the addition of weather is a nice touch. The only cons that I have with the game is that I think the menu could have been better organized, such as the wheels are no longer categorized by manufacturing but instead by the type of wheel which some might prefer but I don't. And the other thing is that I can't seem to turn off the other racers lights in the game as I am racing. A simple option to be able to turn on and off the other racers lights would be nice. And last is turning off the in game race sounds such as the 3-2-1 timer or intro to race music. Other than those which are honestly just very small things but still bother me is all I can find fault. Forza 6 is truely the best Forza yet, it's the best of all there games packed into one and anyone that sees otherwise, well honestly, this isn't the right racing game for you. Expand

To put it succinctly, Forza 6 is the exact game that Forza 5 could have, and should have been. Forza 6 makes Forza 5 seem like it was never there. It offers all the same content that Forza 5 had, and then builds on it massively. The night racing, and weather effects, keeping split-screen AND keeping a locked 60FPS @ 1080p is a huge technological achievement. The cars (as usual for the Forza series) sound amazing and blow the sound effects of almost every other racing sim out of the water. Having 450+ fulling explorable cars is amazing, and the focus on dedicated racing cars like in Forza 2 is wonderful. It's really nice to have lots of racing cars again as compared to tuned street cars. The new mods system is really fun and challenging, and the prize spins gleaned from Forza Horizon 2 are awesome. The graphics are amazing as usual, and can compete with almost any other racing game out there. The best and most important feature of Forza 6 is the new driving physics. The physics are bar none, the best in the business against any other racing game. It's always been fairly well agreed on point that the driving physics in the Forza series have always been somewhat more "arcadey" than Gran Turismo's more realistic approach, but with Forza 6, I'd say that just doesn't apply anymore. Cars don't feel like they're on rails in the least (looking at you, Project Cars), the tires feel like they are really gripping and doing work, unlike in Forza 5 when it was incredibly easy to lose traction even in a very low end 200hp car. Now, due to the grippier and more realistic tires, rear wheel drive vehicles are much more of a threat to the reigning king, all wheel drive. The tires are hugely improved in that it feels like they have a limit, and it's fairly easy to know when the tires are about to give out because of the sound and because of the glorious Xbox One impulse triggers. The physics in Forza 6 allow a cautious driver to put far more faith in the tires to not slip than in Forza 5. It feels as though if the driver meets the car half-way, the car will do the same. The physics also punish an undisciplined driver, and just like in real life, if you make stupid moves, you will spin out or go into a wall. Of course everything changes when it starts to rain. Rain physics are absolutely grueling, and if the rewind feature is turned off in the assists menu, you're gonna have a bad time. Braking distances are massively increased, and having ABS off also makes things far more difficult. You can no longer floor it out of corners since you'll risk spinning out, and then there's always the puddles. The puddles are one of the most exciting things that have been added to the game. Hitting a puddle with one side of the car drags the car in that direction, and if a tire slips off the track onto the wet grass, it's game over. Puddles completely change the racing lines of a given track. Corners that you might have nailed perfectly in every previous game now have a puddle, and everything changes. They're infuriating, terrifying, and amusing at the same time. The night racing is amazing as well. Hurtling down the Mulsanne straight at 260MPH has never felt so scary until you can't see anything past 200ft in front of you. That's really the most of the new features. The music score is still pretty bad, and appears to be another orchestral score like in Forza 5. It's still not as fun as all the funky and/or terrible music in Forza 2, but it's a step in the right direction, and it's a way better soundtrack than Forza 5. I suppose a review should list the cons as well. Forza 6 doesn't appear have any new visual customization parts for returning cars (although thankfully the paint and decal system is still amazing) and the really ugly "Forza" spoiler and front bumper that create the most downforce (even though it feels like the effect always has, and always will be basically non-existent) are incredibly ugly as usual. The new spoiler than arrived in Forza 5 that doesn't remotely look like a racing spoiler is still there, and the front splitter and canard combo that have been in the Forza series forever still looks digusting on 80% of the cars in game. None of this is to say that the customization in Forza 6 is bad, but it hasn't evolved along with everything else in the game from Forza 5. The drivatar system hasn't really improved too much since Forza 5. It's easy to get to 4th place but the top 3 cars are insanely hard to catch, especially 1st place. It feels like the max difficulty unbeatable drivatar setting is too hard, but 1 step down to pro level and it's too easy. Drivatars also suck at racing in the rain now. Online play also hasn't improved, and really dirty drivers have a distinct advantage. The 20$ VIP double race cash bonus with 5 awesome cars locked behind a paywall is terrible, although the car pass is okay. Overall this is probably the best Forza game yet, and the biggest upgrade to the Motorsport series since Forza 4. 9/10. Expand

Been playing forza since the 3rd installment and skipped the 5th. This was a game that I had to have so even though the steep price of $90 in my country I still got it on the first day. I have about 30 hrs played so far

My initial races were really fun and I felt amazing playing the game but eventually this feeling started evaporating when problems would appear during gameplay, especially after raising drivatar levels and progressing to more difficult levels.

    Game AI:
The in game AI also called Drivatars have a lot of problems. Firstly the drivatars sometimes get extremely aggressive, they will hit you, knock you off the track, pit maneuver you and drive insanely. I've been playing racing games for 15 years and this is the first time I felt really frustrated at times because the AI would ruin the gameplay.
Sometimes the drivatars will drive extremely aggressive and fast, they don't have to brake like you do so they get away with insane driving all over the road.
There is also a major flaw in the AI when you raise the levels a bit where you can't catch the 1st and 2nd place car, on straight lines during the race they seem to install rocket boosters or something else because they speed up insanely fast.
At one time I got extremely pissed because I tried everything in my abilities to catch up to the 1st car on multiple tries and it didn't work. On straight lines he would gain an insane lead on me. I got mad and bought the car he was using, and tuned it and still he was ahead of me on straights everytime. In the end he won the race 10 seconds before me and 30 seconds before the rest of the cars.
You can read more on forza 6 forums because everyone has this problem.

Rain driving is very fun, it is a huge challenge and you're constantly fighting with your car. The puddles (new addition) are amazing because you try avoiding them like a plague. Surprisingly the AI doesn't have any rain problems

    More Cons:
    Almost all cars oversteer
    Many car sounds are inaccurate
your own car engine sound is very low volume.
    Some car interiors are wrong.
    Music is bland and boring
No different types of races (rallies, offroad etc)
No Jeremy Clarkson, current narrators are boring

    Good stuff:
    Tracks are amazing
    Amount of different vehicles
Spin system (last 2 spins I won a veyron and laferrari)
    Background graphics are ok
Fun racing when AI decides not to drive extremely aggressive

    It's worth a buy definitely.

It is mind boggling that this game still manages to have no weather after its second iteration on a next-gen machine. A large numbers of the tracks are recycled, idem for the car park. It's especially embarrassing when compared against GT5, which was sporting full real-time solar cycles and dynamic weather. There is better out there for Motorsport fans.

The game has a huge amount of very high quality content, the cars are a joy to look at and to drive and the tracks are recreated very well. Speaking of tracks, this is by far the best selection of tracks available in the Forza franchise. There is not only a decent amount but great variety too, from tight, twisty tracks to larger GP circuits, real life race tracks to pretty cool fantasy tracks and even street circuits.

The career mode is a huge step up from Forza 5, I really feel like the game is taking me on a journey this time, and building up from the lower classes to faster cars later on gives a real sense of progression and achievement. The little introductory videos for each division are informative and well made and add to a sense of storytelling that was sorely lacking in the previous release. Showcases are more fun than I thought they would be, and it seems like a lot of thought went into the selections available.

The driving model is the usual Forza fare, feeling altogether quite similar to Forza 5. With all assists turned off it really does feel like a racing sim, and if you bring too much speed into a corner expect all manner of hell to break loose when you try to turn your car. I found it quite difficult to smoothly apply throttle input (even with deadzones fully adjusted) where it seemed to be hitting full throttle after only about two thirds of the trigger pull. This may be a hardware issue in the controller sensor itself however, as Forza 5 was the same. I don't have a wheel but I would imagine the handling model really needs to be experienced with a wheel and pedal set to enjoy it to the fullest.

The car physics are also really well done, to the point where it feels as if no two cars are quite the same - an incredible accomplishment for 450 odd cars! If you remove weight you will really notice it, and fiddling with the suspension and tyre settings in tuning really make a difference that you can feel on the track.

The sound is a bit more hit and miss. Some cars sound really incredible, and just like their real life counterparts, but there are some oddities. A prime example is my real life car, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV - the engine sound in the game is almost exactly like the real thing, it's uncanny how accurate the exhaust note is as it moves through the revs...except there's this really weird turbo hiss and dumpvalve pop which doesn't sound at all like the real car. The turbo sound is very muted in real life with only the slightest puff on gear change, whereas in the game it sounds like a Group B rally car's turbo. I'm nitpicking I know, but it did stand out for me. Some other observations regarding sound is a very odd crashing effect - the cars sound like they are made of wood. I thought the Forza 5 crashing sound was very good and it seems to be very odd now. The tyre sounds are very well done however, after watching a few races at my local track I can attest that the sounds of tyres being punished in the corners are very authentically reproduced.

I can't comment on the multiplayer aspect, since being from South Africa the lag makes online play impossible. I can only guess the servers are all US-hosted. Perhaps this will change with time, but I'm not holding my breath. On the Xbox 360 when private lobbies were peer-to-peer hosted it was playable, but the public servers just don't work from this far away.

To end off, I must touch on some major negative issues for me:

    1. The jagged edges are very distracting. It's a real shame that such a beautiful game with such detailed cars and tracks becomes a shimmery mess due to poor (or nonexistent) anti-alising. At times it looks like it's being upscaled from 900p. I do get that this is more of an Xbox hardware limitation, but still, it hurts the game experience dearly in my opinion.
    2. Lack of free play options. It's been discussed to death on the forums but I must add it for completeness sake, this is a glaring omission from what could have become the ultimate sandbox racing game.
    3. Seating / viewing position in some car interiors makes it very hard to see the track. I would have liked some more common sense applied here. Sometimes the view out the window is only about 1/4 of the screen space, and it makes it very difficult to see where you are going, especially if you have a large lounge and below average eyesight!
    4. The "drivatar" AI behaves very strangely, at times driving incredibly badly and causing massive accidents in the pack, and other times powering around corners like they have melted foam for tyres and leaving you behind. Some work needs to be done on smoothing out their behaviour.

    My verdict:

    Gameplay: 9/10
    Graphics: 8/10
    Sound: 8/10
    Replayability: 7/10
    Overall: 8/10

When I buy a game for the full price, I want to have a full game and not developers wanting to urge me to invest the same amount of money again. Every time I want to purchase a car with the game currency, I have to see 20 or more cars tagged as "DLC". These cars can neither be driven in any way nor purchased with game currency. Players are supposed to buy very expensive expansion packs. The game's microtransaction system is worse than in any free-to-play game, and the developer makes a truly greedy impression. I would give the game 10/10 if I could disable DLC cars and not show them, because the game itself is brilliant, but the microtransactions really annoy and suck.

The demo released prior to the release of this game made me hunger for more, so this was a good sign. So how does the full game fare? Lets continue with the scores, and end with pro's and con's.

Graphics: 8. The graphics are just as wonderful as they where in FM5. With a few aditions, like rain (awesome animation on how it is swiped off your window), night driving (nice lighting effects), dust/sand blowing over the roads, and leaves blowing from some trees. I guess the reason for the graphics where not really improved upon is the amount of cars on track, so all the extra polygons went into the more cars, and i like it this way!

Sound: 7. Again for me the weakest point of the game. Some cars have decent enough sound, but there are plenty that still sounds like a whining buzz saw or buzzing insect. I expected to hear the power from the high pitched F1 car(s), but they came across rather tame here. I'm glad i could turn off the music during the races, as they sound more like movie pieces to make you feel like you are in the center of a action flick, not in a racing game. I would have preferred some driving music.

Gameplay: 9. For me, with all those options (even a new one, being able to turn off the agression of the AI drivers), this game is made to be played by everyone, from beginner to pro, you can make it as hard as you want it to be. The feel and speed of the car can be felt, and just like with the other Forza games, it feels great.

Total score: 8. If the sound had improved, and a few more tracks where offered, it would easy be a 9, but with games like Project Cars offering a lot more different tracks to race on, i'd expected Turn 10 to follow in those footsteps. But what's here is a extremely playable game, with more cars on track, and the rain is not only great to look at, but driving trough those puddles of water also feels great, making the car aquaplanning if you don't ease of the throttle, and also night driving is fun and exiting. I'm hoping the expansion packs will not only contain cars, but just like with FM5, also a few extra tracks will be released.

    Pro's:

    - Rain and night ads some variation, and gives a exiting feel to a race.
    - Lots of changable settings, making this game fun for beginner and pro's alike.
    - Smooth 60 fps makes for a great ride with speedy feel to the faster cars.
    - The new tracks are fun, Rio being my favorite, and Daytona USA being my second favorite.
    - user interface and menues does not only look great, but are easy to use, giving the game a polished look and feel.

    Con's:

    - More cars means no real improvement in the graphics.
    - Sound from lots of cars are missing the powerfull feel.
    - AI sometimes goes weird, sometimes one or two cars are so much faster than the rest, they lead half a lap when you just passed the halfway point. Lucky restarting the game solves this usually.

In short, racing fans will still have a blast with this one, the smooth and speed will provide, and also the new tracks are fun to drive. For me, this is still one of the greatest races on the Xbox One.

A TERRIBLE game. The sound is unrealistic, some cars have design errors, and the graphics like a PS2 game

Forza Motorsport 6 may be the perfect racing game. It does everthing 2013's Forza 5 does and more. There are more tracks, cars, and modes in Forza 6. Also, the core driving experience, technical achievement, and level of accessibility in Turn 10's new racing sim are superb. Forza 6 may be the best racing game ever made.

Low sound, handling unrealistic, the usual heated soup, some cars have errors in some parts of the wet look is made in a just enough, the public continues to be a cardboard cutout in 2d, nice but nothing more

Easily worth a 9 if they would fix the annoying car model bugs and inconsistencies (especially in cockpit view a lot of cars are incorrect) that have been plaguing the series for the last 3 titles.

Otherwise, the game is fantastic and worth a 9. It would've gotten a 10 if it had dynamic time of day.

The best racer on any platform period! The graphics are beautiful in smooth 60fps.
Only complaints are lack of system link and triplescreen setup.
With that it would have been a solid 10!

Very Very boring and terrible racing game that is over hyped. There are far better racing games out there. The graphics are fine...all in all a let down.

The game itself is not perfect as there seems to be unbalanced difficulty with some drivatars, and when racing in the rain the puddles cause massive sliding and temporary loss of control. One big gripe that I have is the mandatory tutorials and the videos (which are well done) but unskippable. Microtransactions return here just like in Forza 5. Overall this is the definitive racer on Xbox One currently (far surpassing Project cars) and if you don't mind shelling out an extra $20 bucks the Nascar add-on is fantastic. Expand

Quite simply, the best racing game you can buy today.
If you were burned by Forza 5's flaws, or were disappointed by Horzion 2 at all, I assure you, this is the perfect place to jump back in. It still looks and plays as great as the past games (albeit it's been updated, so it looks better and plays better than before), and this time there's so much more to do. Double the cars, more than

It still looks and plays as great as the past games (albeit it's been updated, so it looks better and plays better than before), and this time there's so much more to do. Double the cars, more than twice as many tracks, gamechanging nighttime and extreme wet weather racing, a comprehensive and progressive singleplayer campaign, car events that bring back modes from previous games (autocross and endurance racing, for starters), all with the approach-ability and depth that's defined the series for years. It doesn't matter if you aren't the best driver in the world: all that does matter is that you are having fun while playing it.
It's not faultless, I'll admit: there aren't as many virtual tracks as there used to be (I know, I miss Fujimi Kaido too.. [sniff]), and the multiplayer modes aren't as... expansive as they were in Forza 4, and as to be expected, Porsche isn't available at the moment. But make no mistake, it's still a vast improvement over Motorsport 5. And the game available right now is more than worth your time and money. Heck, even the microtransactions have been toned the **** down.
For those of you who are on the fence about this game, try out the demo: if you at all like what's there, then buy this game. And if you're a car guy, what are you waiting for? One of the Xbox One's best games, a standout in a great series, and must have for any gearhead.

8/10 easy rating. Forza 6 is an excellent game and there's really nothing wrong with it at all. The problem is that it's almost identical to its predecessors. Essentially it's Forza 5 with some new gameplay mechanics, updated graphics and new cars/ tracks and environments. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of the Forza series and if someone was to ask me what would I do to make the game8/10 easy rating. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of the Forza series and if someone was to ask me what would I do to make the game better I could honestly say only one thing, bring back the auction house. Older Forza games featured the auction house which game the game more longevity as you had the option to set up your own little business buying and selling cars trying to make a profit, well thats what I used it for anyway. The auction house was removed as hackers sold modded cars through it and obviously that just ruined the game. But since then I feel like Turn 10 just couldn't be assed finding a way to stop the hackers while still having the auction house. I bought Forza 6 on day one played it for a few weeks and really haven't touched it since. Whenever I'm in the mood for a racing game I know Forza 6 will be my go to choice but there really isn't that much there to keep me interested and coming back day after day. Expand

With gorgeous sound and visuals, immersive and expansive modes for single players, captivating multiplayer options, a rewarding economy, and a staggering amount of cars and tracks, Forza Motorsport 6 delivers a powerful racing experience. It single-handedly makes the Xbox One console appealing, and is a no-brainer “gotta have it” title for those that have Microsoft’s gaming machine in their homes.

I must say, I'm not one for racing games, but Forza Motorsport 6 easily wins me over with the overall cars to choose from and easiness in picking it up and playing it.

Forza 6 is friendly even towards inexperienced players, rewards good maneuvers and does not punish minor mistakes as strictly as it could have. [11/2015, p.38]
