    Old school rules here ! Adrenaline arcade style game , been waiting a long time for this kind of game to came out on XONE ! The different gameplays are variate and the controls are a bit fluffy!!! But the real deal here is that it s difficult , realy hard to finish first , not like those game where you just had to uprade a bit your engine and then get far away with nobody behind you, noOld school rules here ! I gave a ten to this game because every time i comeback and sit on the couch, take the controller , start the game,........ i feel like i m 16 again with a big smile on my face thinking about not !     I won this game on twitter and started playing. The game is a little difficult at times but extremely fun, you can collect cars and upgrade them and race against the AI in career mode or play death match or well made mini-games in flatout mode. As a bonus there is also multiplayer and you can play all the fun mini-games with 1 controller with friends, which makes it a great game for whenI won this game on twitter and started playing.     There’s a career mode here where you take place in racing cups, speed trials, and arena battles…
    Winning races and destroying opponents will earn you cash to buy better cars or upgrade your current car…
    The only problem is the payout is far too low…
    A low payout mixed with unbalanced rules makes getting through this career mode a drag…
    There is way too much emphasis on the total insanity aspect of this game…
    There’s a derby cup, classic, and all-star, but the rules remain the same unbalanced mess…
    You aren’t rewarded for being a flawless driver like let’s be honest.. I am of course…
    jokes... a little... I do have my moments…
    But there is a nitro boost to help you in races…
    The thing is that sure you get a little from jumps and sharp turns… but you only really get nitro for ramming into other cars..
    because of this enemy ai is extremely aggressive, constantly spinning you out…
    doesn’t sound like a big deal until you realize that being out in front means there’s no one for you to hit.. There’s no way to fill up your nitro...
    you aren’t rewarded for maintaining certain speeds or dodging obstacles…
    because of this you have everything to lose by holding the top spot…
    it’s way too easy at the last moment for an opponent that’s been ramming into cars all race to use it nitro to catch up to you and then spin you out… forcing you to reset your car and be placed in the middle or near the end of the pack when you were in first place…
    this unbalance makes the racing segments of the game feel unfair..
    Sure coming out on top against all odds is thrilling...
    but being first the whole time and then losing because there is no nitro reward for you makes the game feel cheap, and ultimately makes winning feel like you got lucky…
    this of course could be balanced out by high payouts for wins and damage.. But you don’t get that… the payouts are low so you can’t just go buy a better car... you’re stuck with playing the same tracks over and over until you can afford one…
    The tracks are well designed and fun to play through though.. easily the best part of the game…
    Outside of the grindy career there’s flatout mode which features stunt tracks where you try to nock items down for example for the most possible points, beat the bomb which is a race the clock checkpoint style challenge, carnage where you destroy as many items and cars as possible, and finally death match which like the arena modes in the career is a demolition derby style game, expect here you have infinite lives trying to get the most kills, while in the career its more last man standing…
    and finally there’s multiplayer..
    Which is completely broken...
    I’d tell you how it plays but for 1 it’s a ghost town, no one’s playing it, and for 2 the game would crash every single time the match start counter got to 0, so don’t plan on buying this game for its online…
    The negatives of this game could be overlooked if the payout killed the grind…
    But unfortunately that isn’t the case… this game is an imbalanced grind that you’ll lose patience for…
    I give Flat-out 4: Total Insanity

    Believe it or not, I found this to be the best FlatOut game yet (if there's anymore that come out in the future). Sure, the graphics aren't exactly the best for PS4/XBO standards, but the rest of the game has that certain charm to it. It's like they knew what kind of audience would buy this, because they have everything the other FlatOut games had, plus more. They have local multiplayer inBelieve it or not, I found this to be the best FlatOut game yet (if there's anymore that come out in the future). Sure, the graphics aren't exactly the best for PS4/XBO standards, but the rest of the game has that certain charm to it. It's like they knew what kind of audience would buy this, because they have everything the other FlatOut games had, plus more. They have local multiplayer in the form of turned based gameplay, as in up to 8 people can pass one controller around when it's their turn. I would've preferred being able to use up to 4 player split screen, but this gets the job done. There's also more mini games along with racing and destruction derby. The physics still aren't the best, a bit too slidey, but you get use to it. There's a lot to do in the game, and was only $40 upon release day. If you're a FlatOut fan, this is definitely for you.… Expand

    La série des Flatout a toujours été une série merdique et ce quatrième épisode reste fidèle à la triste tradition... Il est développé par Kylotonn le developeur français qui s'occupe des récents WRC et le moins qu'on puisse dire, c'est qu'ils en font des kilos, des tonnes et des mégatonnes !

    Certes, Flatout ne fait pas dans la dentelle, ni dans le raffinement ; il se complaît comme de coutume dans le beauf' et le brutal mais grosso merdo, le jeu est d'une trop grande confusion pour convaincre : trop hystérique, trop bourrin, trop con.

    Les chignoles tiennent la route comme des otaries bourrées et le maniement est trop délicat et imprécis, un comble pour un jeu d'arcade...! les concurrents (ou plutôt les cons currents) sont d'une agressivité sans bornes et ne semblent là que pour vous rentrer dedans. Mais bon, à la limite, on finit par s'y faire en gérant correctement sa nitro (que l'on récupère en détruisant tout le décor sur les bas-côtés...) afin de dépasser la smala de débiles enragés et de leur mettre un vent.

    On se dit alors qu'après avoir amélioré son engin, le jeu n'est pas si mauvais que cela... Hélas, les courses avec les armes font leur apparition et leur utlisation est mal aisée (maintenir LB + A, B, Y ou X ?!) et les "cons courant" sont plus agressifs et hargneux que jamais, vous laissant irrémédiablement en queue de peloton. Déjà que c'est un bordel monstre mais là, c'est vraiment le pompon !

    Graphiquement, ce Flatout est assez présentable -nonobstant ce flou affreux avec la nitro et une solution AA peu performante- et maintient ses 30 im/s sans faillir. Les effets sonores sont généralement de qualité pour leur part ; la musique est à chier mais on peut lui fermer son clapet, donc ça va.

    Quoi qu'il en soit, le bilan demeure largement négatif pour ce Flatout qui frise l'insanité dans ses mécaniques de jeu foireuses et sa beaufitude alarmante.    … Expand

    At least a racing game that doesn't fall under the simulation category, FlatOut 4: Total Insanity re-introduces the arcade racing genre to the current generation. The game controls quite well and with an array of beautiful tracks to race around, I see plenty of replay value in aiming for high lap times on the leader board. The online unfortunately is very basic and not so populous howeverAt least a racing game that doesn't fall under the simulation category, FlatOut 4: Total Insanity re-introduces the arcade racing genre to the current generation. The game controls quite well and with an array of beautiful tracks to race around, I see plenty of replay value in aiming for high lap times on the leader board. The online unfortunately is very basic and not so populous however getting into an online lobby is a ton of fun much like I remember the games from previous generation arcade racers. FlatOut 4 however is not as good as FlatOut 2 but is a vast improvement over the previous abysmal game, FlatOut 3. It reintroduces the FlatOut mode as well as the stunt mode. The graphics are average at best however the detail of the environments I found had the biggest leap over FlatOut 2. FlatOut 4 barely has anything new to offer (apart from some new abilities in a carnage race mode) but is still very enjoyable to anyone who has a lust for the arcade racing genre.… Expand

    absolute garbage. the graphics look like a two generations ago but that wouldn´t matter one bit if this game wouldn´t have the most awful nonsensical random driving physics ever. nothing feels like it has any weight at all its floaty and glitchy. you can the first cars you can get actually are fine but already the next one makes you regret the purchase even if you get it for free. i´mabsolute garbage. the graphics look like a two generations ago but that wouldn´t matter one bit if this game wouldn´t have the most awful nonsensical random driving physics ever. nothing feels like it has any weight at all its floaty and glitchy. you can the first cars you can get actually are fine but already the next one makes you regret the purchase even if you get it for free. i´m driving a 4x4 landrover it should have at least a little weight but insteat it feels like it weighs about half a gram. any little bump will make you flip and roll all over the place the slightest touch by another much lighter car will shoot you straight into outer space. it´s an absolute joke did nobody test this nonsense ever?… Expand

    Flatout 4 feels like a game destined to reinvigorate the franchise and just ran out of steam. I am a massive fan of the original game and its sequel, and while this is light years beyond the abomination that was the third game, it still falls short. More tracks, more variety, and some much needed polish would have gone a long way in bringing back this cult classic. As it stands though, arcade racers still sit dormant in today’s gaming landscape.

    After a half dozen hours in the campaign it simply dawned on me that while FlatOut 4 has its moments, namely in its entertaining, yet offline only Stunt Mode, the campaign itself was simply average. The main problem is that it feels like a grind and there’s no hints at what’s needed to unlock all of the customization items like paint jobs and exhaust flames. FlatOut 4 is completely serviceable game, but there’s a lot of issues with its AI and buggy physics, as I’ve fallen through the world more than once. While it won’t bring the series back to the forefront with its rough edges, it has a decent amount of content within, topped off with a delightful stunt mode that will constantly having you aiming for a higher score, even if it is a solo affair.
