    Edgar Bokbok in Boulzac is a Point-and-click style Fetch and Trade game. You play as Edgar, accompanied by his chicken Precious. Edgar is a gourd farmer, and he uses an odd contraption to keep the lionflies away from his crops. One day, the machine gets damaged, and Edgar ends up having to go to town to find some Razidium to repair the machine. That's where the game gets a bit strange. TheEdgar Bokbok in Boulzac is a Point-and-click style Fetch and Trade game. You play as Edgar, accompanied by his chicken Precious. Edgar is a gourd farmer, and he uses an odd contraption to keep the lionflies away from his crops. One day, the machine gets damaged, and Edgar ends up having to go to town to find some Razidium to repair the machine. That's where the game gets a bit strange. The Townsfolk are more concerned with these green pendants than anything else. You unravel the plot by finding items and trading them around for other items, or useful knowledge. The game isn't very difficult, or long taking me somewhere around two hours. The story is unfortunately almost as dry as Edgar's well. It's not bad, just lacking. Everything is text-based with no voicing and did contain some light humor that kept a smile curled on my face. There were a few times you will need to combine items, but not many as most of the uses are fairly straightforward. One fun mechanic was sneaking around with the chicken, it was fun stealing the keys as you "hid" while playing as Precious. Overall this was a fun little game, and fans of the Point-and-click style gameplay will feel right at home here as you move Edgar around a scene, looking for everything you can do.… Expand

    While some of the puzzle solutions are a little obtuse at times, much of the progression will simply come from trial and error and talking to everyone you come across. Edgar: Bokbok in Boulzac never takes itself too seriously and contains a funny, strange and wacky story that’s worth the journey, even with the minor frustration. While I did expect it to have more humor, Edgar and Precious had enough moments that made me smile throughout, as it should for you as well, just wait for a decent sale though.

    Whether Edgar – Bokbok in Boulzac should be your next purchase or not is dependent on what you’re after. It’s a very laid back, weird, wacky, and interesting story, in which there are plenty of minor side-tales to pad out the adventure to around three hours in length. The inventory ‘puzzles’ won’t be overly taxing at all, so there’ll be no need to get stressed, but it does become tedious without something else to break-up the random conversations and, unfortunately, there aren’t enough properly funny moments to make you laugh out loud.

    La Poule Noire have done a fantastic job with Edgar: Bokbok in Boulzac. It's a funny, feel good time of a game that doesn't take itself too seriously but delivers an enjoyable story filled with likeable characters and beautiful artwork. Edgar: Bokbok in Boulzac does a good job in introducing a humble new hero that everyone will enjoy.
