    Overall Score: 3.5. Unfortunately, even after the improvements on the gameplay and a much deeper Dynasty Mode, Maximum Football 2020 is not good. This game has serious bugs, glitches and issues, which will be fixed soon. I do love the customization options. I do respect the guys playing this game. Hopefully things get better in the future.

    this game is trash, you can return kickoffs for TD's almost every time. Guess they wanted all football games to be even TRASH across the board this year. Madden's trash Axis football is trash and this game is trash

It's rough around the edges, but a game that has some serious potential given the development team and their willingness to listen to and accept constructive criticism. Not perfect by any definition, but worth an investment. Customization is top notch and gameplay is good if you can get over the lower tier graphics. If you want something other than Madden,this can aid the suffering but not replace it. Madden still good ways ahead, but not as far as they should be.… Expand

    This game is worth the price. The gameplay is good and the customisation is top tier. The graphics is lower than other sports games but that is because they are working on a way lower budget. The only bugs I have found have been fixed already or can be easily fixed. The only thing I have a problem with is some of the achievements seem to be broken.     Maximum Football 2020 is a video game for Xbox One published by Canuck Play Inc.. They are determined to create a football game that is affordable and capable to stand along side of other offerings on the Xbox One and I'm sure other gaming platforms of choice. This is the follow up to last years 2019 version which didn't quite meet my maybe too tall of standards from the lofty expectationsMaximum Football 2020 is a video game for Xbox One published by Canuck Play Inc.. They are determined to create a football game that is affordable and capable to stand along side of other offerings on the Xbox One and I'm sure other gaming platforms of choice. This is the follow up to last years 2019 version which didn't quite meet my maybe too tall of standards from the lofty expectations of the games feature set and description. I remember a day when there were so many options for video game console football video games, today we seems that we are struggling to find an alternatives. No matter the football experience from a purely structural standpoint, Canuck Play brings the goods in franchise and season modes. For as good as the franchise mode options are, the customization is almost what it needs to be in comparison.. You can create or edit everyone in the game. You can also customize the league, the teams, and even design logos which is quite a cool feature. Some old school gamers, such as myself are willing to sacrifice some visuals if the gameplay and features make up for the shortcomings of visual elements. Maximum Football 2020 accomplishes a lot more this year that last, but fails miserably in the gameplay department once again. There is so much wrong here, that I almost don’t know where to begin or end. Let’s just say it’s not fun playing the actual game of football in Maximum Football 2020. I would at least like to see the fun factor in next years offerings even if the studio doesn't bring it in the visuals department. Football games have a long history and to stand up in that long running history a game has to be fun, like Tecmo Bowl, it didn't look great but it was so fun they brought it back on Xbox 360. This is all the Maximum Football 2020 franchise really needs is to focus on the fun factor and I think it will find its niche. I don't expect retail graphics for the lower price of admission but let's see more fun factor and raise the bar a little more. I think Canuck Play Inc. is headed that direction, this is a young franchisee and I'm sure they have a lot more up their sleeves for next years next generation installment.… Expand

    Having played both last years game and this years, I commend the team at Canuck for the improvement. This year’s game does play a lot more smoothly, the graphics have been refined slightly and a few added animations and physics tweaking has it playing much better simulation football. It still has a long ways to go, but they listen to their customer base and I will continue to support. The launch was a bit rough with wrong versions of the game being put through by Microsoft and Sony, but that was out of the hands of the developers. Overall, I’m enjoying this years game. Is it perfect, no. Is it AAA? No, but it darn well does a good job simulating football and it’s loaded with customization. Enjoy it for what it is, a sim football game made by like 3-6 people who do it part-time. The amount of features they have in comparison to Madden is just plain sad. Goes to show how greedy and crappy EA is.… Expand

The Canuck Play dev team actually listens to and interacts with their audience and continues to outshine their AAA budget busting counterparts, despite having less than 5 members. Doug Flutie's Maximum Football is the 'UnMadden', and that's a good thing. Although the game is just above bare bones football on the field, its refreshing to play aA huge improvement over last years title. The Canuck Play dev team actually listens to and interacts with their audience and continues to outshine their AAA budget busting counterparts, despite having less than 5 members. Doug Flutie's Maximum Football is the 'UnMadden', and that's a good thing. Although the game is just above bare bones football on the field, its refreshing to play a football game that takes it back to the basics as Canuck Play continues to build on a solid foundation. The physics based tackling system, the deep college dynasty mode, the play creator, the logo creator, etc. will have you immersed in the game for hours and hours, what more could a Football SimHead ask for?… Expand

The team had a bumpy launch day due to problems on Sony and Microsofts end in their online stores, but overall this game is a fantastic simulation football game!     I feel like Maximum Football has finally delivered what we all have been waiting for. A physics based simulation football game. There is more football logic in this game than there has been since 2014. Great job Canuck play. The dynasty is super deep. The football part is great.     I’ve got to be honest, I’ve been following this game for about a year. This is my first time buying and I’m absolutely loving it! The devs at Canuck Play have done a great job of improving the game from last year’s and although there are a lot of problems, (namely many bugs and glitches, strange movement, almost no interceptions) they are committed to fixing them. On r/maximumfootball, theI’ve got to be honest, I’ve been following this game for about a year. This is my first time buying and I’m absolutely loving it! I’m so excited for the future of this game because it will be great. As they are a small team, it will take some time, so if you want a good football game right now, then stay away for a couple of years. If you have some extra cash and want to support a small development team, then buy it. If you don’t mind graphics, strange gameplay, and bugs then buy it! They frequently fix bugs and are so committed to the game that in no time it will be a contender with Madden.… Expand

    I would love for DFMF 2020 to be a good game. I would love for it to be a football game “that isn’t Madden,” and that gives consumers a real alternative. Unfortunately, this isn’t Madden. It’s much, much worse. While it delivers robust options in franchise and customization, the game is just too hard on the eyes, and not fun enough to encourage most people to delve into its underneath layers. Even at a $30 price point, this game probably isn’t worth your time. You’d be better off playing Madden 08 if you’re willing to sacrifice graphics, but still want good gameplay.
