    The game has a decent story I just didn’t think it had enough and in the end you start to realise that the story is a little on the bare side. Does Dead Cells do enough to get a recommendation from me? Dead Cells is one of the most interesting and exciting game’s I’ve experienced so far this year and I don’t mind admitting that I didn’t expect to enjoy the game as much as I did. There is just so much that stands out in this game that’s it hard to pick what my favourite thing was, which obviously isn’t a bad thing at all and in the end as far as rogue-like adventures go this is up there with the very best and even if you only have a slight interest in this specific genre then Dead Cells definitely has to take a place in your game library.… Expand

    This game is the dark souls of alchemy experiments gone wrong, meaning you have to fight in a permadeath Metroidvania. Good game 8/10

    With its beautifully twisted take on the Metroidvania formula, Dead Cells is at once one of the most frustrating and most satisfying games I’ve ever played.     Nice roguelike with great music and atmosphere. Dark souls in 2D. Not very hard, but very intresting game.

    This is a Metroidvania combined with a bit of Bloodborne and Super Mario Bros (yes SMB 1, but with only one life), made me remember my young me playing Super Mario Bros for the very first time. The feeling of achievement and the planing of every run makes it like no other modern game.

    L'indé de la semaine a inventé l'eau tiède ! quelle innovation... il paraît que les jeux triple A (les méchants jeux à gros budget, salauds de capitalistes...) ne se renouvellent pas mais quid des daubes indés très fraîches et... très "novatrices" ?

    Eh bien, ça recycle à l'envi et ça fait du rétron (rétro étron) à savoir de la 2D puante 16 couleurs en pixel lard... en hommage aux années 80, il paraît (c'était mieux avant ?) ; ça fait aussi du "rogue" c'est-à-dire que la sauvegarde n'existe pas : tu recommences comme un crevard... comme dans le temps, ce vieux temps où l'on avait pas de contenu.

    Oh ça, la "durée de vie" a l'air très bien : à force de recommencer, t'en gaspilles du temps pour rien ! effet retors, tu peux même pas apprendre par coeur le niveau (à force de recommencer) puisque sa configuration change (oh putain mais c'est "procédural"... moi j'appellerais plutôt du porcédural : de la prog de goret branleur).

    Et puis, c'est vachement difficile, comme ça, tu recommences encore plus : elle est pas belle la vie dans ton jeu indé de merde ? Et donc,quelle innovation dans le "gameplay" que de taper sur des ennemis à l'infini comme dans un hack et slash tout moisi ! putain, quelle créativité, vraiment ! y a pas à tortiller, vous êtes des "génies"... du pas ludique.    … Expand

    A game that I find myself putting hours upon hours into and for good reason: It is a very enjoyable experience. The combat is sleek and very fast paced and the level design and enemies help make it better.

    Esse jogo é perfeito! Dificilmente me vicio como eu me viciei em Dead Cells. A grande variedade de itens, com uma jogabilidade extremamente viciante, com um toque de LevelDesign muito bom, torna ele um grande concorrente ao GOTY.

    Awful game and community. Do not recommend to anyone. There are many better rouge lite games out there. This is just poor man's dark souls

    This was fun to play. I subtract 1 point for having to start from the same place every time you die, and another for not having a proper story.

    A very enjoyable and tough “roguevania”. This game is not as hard as it seems, as basic enemies can be killed quickly. The bosses however, are very challenging and unique. Combat is fast, responsive, satisfying, and rewarding. You start from the beginning level when you die, but various factors keep the game feeling fresh upon death.

    There are a ton of items to unlock with your cells,    A very enjoyable and tough “roguevania”. This game is not as hard as it seems, as basic enemies can be killed quickly. The bosses however, are very challenging and unique. Combat is fast, responsive, satisfying, and rewarding. You start from the beginning level when you die, but various factors keep the game feeling fresh upon death.

    There are a ton of items to unlock with your cells, which helps on further runs. Trying to obtain high-tiered gear creates a risk-reward aspect that is very thrilling and worthwhile. Everything is randomized (weapons, level layouts, bonus weapon modifiers), so no 2 playthroughs are the same. It is extremely satisfying to have all of your weapon's modifiers and main traits align, dealing over 100% bonus damage. Due to the tight combat, near endless amount of items to unlock, and roguelike aspects, this is a must-play game that can be played almost indefinitely. - 8.5    … Expand

    El género roguelike no es un tipo de juego que me entusiasme, pero Dead cells me enganchó desde el primer momento y no tuve frustración ni desgana de comenzar de nuevo desde el principio cada vez que moría porque siempre notaba que cada partida iba mejorando tanto como jugador como en su progresión. Jugabilidad muy divertida, infinidad de armas, retos, y un pixel art precioso. Imprescindible

    Dead Cells may very well be both the best Metroidvania and the best rouge-like game I have ever played. With it's charming visuals and it's stellar combat, this game leaves very little to be desired. Progression in this game feels WONDERFUL compared to other rougelikes and manages to feel very rewarding and punishing at the same time. I would definetly recommend this to anybody who is aDead Cells may very well be both the best Metroidvania and the best rouge-like game I have ever played.     It's a very good action game. The story makes you wonder a little bit. But of course, it is boring to pass through the places you have passed over and over again after a while. Until then, it's a perfect game. You should also push and see the finale.

    This is easily my favorite game of the XBONE / PS4 generation and definitely my favorite metroidvania game. From the moment i started it i was HOOKED. The gameplay, the weapons, the synergies, the biomes, the music, the enemies, the progression, it's all just so perfectly made.. years later i still can't put this game down and i'm still at my 4th boss cell.     Very addictive combat that allowed you to beat the game in so many ways. The bosses that were in the game were great and there is a large variety of enemies, levels and weapons to stop the game from getting repetitive. The most satisfying weapons was the twinblade but that was also due to the amazing sound effects.     I really liked the game it has a very diverse range of swords bows shields mutations and the runes are very cool and have several uses the enemies are also very cool the game has a good difficulty for a respectful sousloke and the biomes are very diverse and cool the boses have several mechanics and they are pretty cool too

    Dead Cells is an excellent game that will challenge and delight seasoned roguelike addicts, yet Motion Twin has also made it accessible to newcomers. The combination of roguelite and metroidvania genres wraps the bitter pill of permadeath in a sweet coating of exploration, with a solid progression system and plenty of reward loops to help inexperienced players get into the game. Meanwhile expert players can speed run, ramp up the difficulty level and equip the gear and mutations designed for skilled users. Dying repeatedly has never felt this good.

    I simply cannot think of anything that would make the Dead Cells game experience better. Its hard but not unfair, runs like a dream and plays like a lump of Teflon draped in silk. You need to play this game, and the retro graphics, while they may not be to everyone’s taste, really suit it, ensuring that it is just a pleasure to play.
