There is a decent amount of content for you to get your hands on and if played in short sittings this content can be pretty fun and enjoyable. While the presentation side of the game doesn’t have a huge amount of depth I still enjoyed what both the visuals and sound design delivered to me. While the presentation side of the game doesn’t have a huge amount of depth I still enjoyed what both the visuals and sound design delivered to me. The gameplay is pretty much a clone of Gnomes Garden and with me being a fan of them game’s I’m sure other fans will appreciate the gameplay like I did. I found the core aspect of the game to get repetitive somewhat quickly so if played for long periods you may become bored or tired. There isn’t much variety present in the levels so basically every level plays out the same way. The story in the game fails to capture your imagination and everything the game throws up here is very basic and completely forgettable. While the game throws up a challenge every now and then I never felt in trouble which made the gameplay not as compelling as it could’ve been. I was looking forward to DayD: Through Time and that’s mainly because I’m quite a fan of the Gnomes Garden series. Unfortunately though this game isn’t as good as the Gnomes Garden game’s and I think that’s mainly because this game is basically a carbon copy of them game’s and they don’t really throw any new ideas into the mix. Don’t get me wrong it can still be enjoyable but it’s only enjoyable when played in short plays because it does get repetitive and tedious way too quickly. The main reason why I think it gets repetetive quickly is because there isn’t much variety present in the levels and each level basically plays out the same way which is a problem in my opinion. Another problem for me is that there isn’t much of a challenge present in these levels as well so you don’t get that rewarding feeling when completing a level. Thankfully it isn’t all doom and gloom though because the gameplay is technically sound and you do get good value for your money because there is quite a bit of content for you to get to grips with. Despite this though DayD: Through Time just doesn’t do enough to get a recommendation from me because it just has too many shortcomings and if you only had the money to buy one then I recommend that you get one of the Gnomes Garden game’s instead of this game. However, if you really like the Gnomes series, give this one a try also. Expand

Despite housing a generous amount of content, the game’s core systems lack depth and variety, and whilst DayD: Through Time makes a few functional improvements when compared to Gnomes Garden, it still falls short due to its tedious loop. That said, if you’re a fan of this simplistic concept, DayD is certainly going to be serviceable. If, on the other hand, you prefer something robust and challenging, look elsewhere.
