I have never played any of the Darksiders games. Not for lack of wanting, to be honest I’m not really sure why I never played them. I had always heard good things about them, especially amongst the PSVG staff. I specifically made sure not to look at any past reviews or gameplay so I would have a fresh take.

I had always heard good things about them, especially amongst the PSVG staff. I specifically made sure not to look at any past reviews or gameplay so I would have a fresh take.

Darksiders Warmastered starts the way very few games start, and it’s something that I have always loved in games…….. Ultimate Power

You start the game at the peak of your power, fighting incredibly large and impressive enemies. After you progress through what is best described as Hell on Earth, you reach the big boss. It is a very impressive creature and a fun fight. Think God of War boss fight. You even get some of those fun button pressing sequences while fighting the enemy.

After the boss fight you are treated to some truly stunning visuals and top notch voice acting. Then, you are stripped of all your powers. Now you know what you are aspiring to achieve. The end game if you will.

“Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth. Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible. Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.”

As you begin your first mission after being stripped of your power you will quickly realize just how much you have lost. Enemies are tough, even the lowly zombies roaming around. The level is perfect for adventurers as you can explore every book and cranny discovering unlockables. The game has a very God of War meets Onimusha feel, and that “feel” is great. I love the control scheme, and for a game that release a number of years ago, it looks great!

I know it’s “Warmastered”, but I have certainly played some “remastered” games that don’t live up to that title. (Wink wink Ultimate Alliance)

If you take some time to look through your character menu’s you will see just how much growth you will have. Whether it’s new combos, new weapons to discover or a skill tree that you can develop, Darksiders Warmastered has a lot to offer.

As with most of my other reviews, I’m going to avoid getting into the game any further so that you can experience it yourself. Darksiders scratches an itch I have had for a long long time……. maybe since the last God of War. I truly love this game. It controls great, it’s challenging, looks awesome and most of all, it’s FUN! With enough character development to keep you searching for those hidden chests and collecting all those souls to eventually sell for combos, etc.. Darksiders Warmastered will fill up all your free time.
The best news for me is, once I unlock everything in this game, I get to look forward to the sequel!

El mejor juego de aventuras y hack and slash que he jugado en mucho tiempo, una mezcla perfecta entre Zelda, God of war y Devil may cry, con unos gráficos y animaciones que son una gozada, se lo recomiendo a todo el mundo.

An excellent remaster of the cult classic. The game blends its own unique story and colorful visual style with "God of War" combat and "Zelda" puzzles. It originally held its own against "Bayonetta" and "Castlevania: Lord of Shadows". This action-adventure holds up extremely well. If you've never played it before, this is the perfect way to do so. It looks gorgeous and includes all DLC. IAn excellent remaster of the cult classic. The game blends its own unique story and colorful visual style with "God of War" combat and "Zelda" puzzles. Darksiders is a must for any hack'n'slash fan and its "warmastered" version aren't different!

This couldn't be the more genial thing ever, but off course was made the best way possible, making us enjoy every time War swing his sword or any of the weapons he take in the journey that mix battles, 3D platforming, puzzles, hidden collectibles and all this kind of stuff in a game that has mechanics remembering other great blasts from the last 20 years like Devil May Cry, Prince of Persia, God of War and Legend of Zelda.

Both original and remaster release looks and play the same. The only difference is visual, which doesn't mean too much since the game already have a fine visual with cartoonized style back at its original release. Things just turn a bit more smooth in Warmastered.

I enjoyed this game a lot. Without playing the original it is hard to tell what the Warmastered edition did to improve the game but it looked and played just fine among modern games. There was one really strange bug, the volume meters in the settings are turned all the way down by default so when you begin the game there will be noise from combat but no dialogue or music until you go adjust the volume settings. I had to restart in order to have volume in the long opening cinematics. Once that was adjusted it was smooth sailing. The story was good but it was the gameplay that made the game great. It has a Zelda vibe to it. I liked how a new game mechanic was introduced throughout the game to change the combat and puzzle mechanics as the game progressed. Expand

The remastered edition of a brilliantly designed and masterfully executed action adventure game looks and feels really good on new platforms. [01/2017, p.47]

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition takes a great game and makes it… well, the same. I don't mean to belittle the work done on the remaster; the visual and performance upgrades are really good. It's a great re-release of a great game, but it's a game that still feels rather recent. With nothing additional added to the package, it may not do enough to appeal to fans of the original, but for newcomers, this is the best version of the game.

Warmastered Edition keeps the essence seen in the original game a few years ago. As a whole, it’s a surprising game, which works especially well comprehending in a neat way the affluence of its genre classics, taking it back in a work that it’s already a classic. Without any doubt, it is worth discovering War’s adventure, or coming back if you've already played it.
