    Dark Quest 2 is quite a niche game and one I’d say to fans of retro turn based RPGs to give a go. But you really need to be a fan of the genre to make this a worthwhile purchase.

    The presentation side of the game has been done really well and for me both the visuals and sound design combined together extremely well. I really enjoyed the story that was present in the game because it always kept me invested and it made the gameplay elements matter more. In terms of content there is a fair amount for you to dive into and the content was varied enough to keep things fresh and interesting. There is a diverse cast of heroes you can play as and with the added inclusion of interesting skills it means the RPG elements shine brightly. Sometimes the game makes you rely on luck a little too much which can be pretty frustrating. There are few technical issues you have to contend with every now and then and whilst none of them are particularly game-breaking they can harm the immersion levels a little. I found it to be a little linear from time to time and more character progression would’ve been nice. Dark Quest 2 is a simplistic RPG that never becomes too overbearing and even though it’s not in the higher echelons when it comes to this genre it’s still a worthy addition. I often find that a decent story makes me enjoy an RPG game even more and thankfully I’m pleased to say that the story present in this game is interesting and it stays that way throughout. You’ll be pleased to know then that there is also a decent amount of content that accompanies the story and this content has enough variety to keep things fresh and ultimately keep you satisfied during your adventure. You will notice however a few bugs within this content and while none of these are game-breaking so to speak they can still be a little off-putting. Thankfully though I was able to look past these issues in the end and I’m glad I did because playing as each hero is well worth it because each hero is diverse enough. In terms of difficulty the game isn’t too much but be prepared for a little bit of luck-infused combat which can be a little annoying from time to time. That being said despite the niggling little problems Dark Quest 2 definitely gets more right than it gets wrong and whilst it may be a little linear for some it definitely does enough to warrant a recommendation from me and I definitely recommend to those who like a fun and enjoyable RPG adventure.
