Unfinished game (recognized by developers) but it is a good graphic adventure that has a rare but interesting history and that for those who like the genre is highly recommended.
It's a shame they left us half with this game

I don't know what the reviewers were thinking. This game looks and feels like an early Kinect experiment - and it can be redeemed if you still have a Kinect sensor attached. But if you don't, just run away - flailing joy sticks around in QuickTime events is way less fun than flailing your hands around. The story is beyond the pale: sometimes it's fun because it's SO weird, but when II don't know what the reviewers were thinking. But if you don't, just run away - flailing joy sticks around in QuickTime events is way less fun than flailing your hands around. The story is beyond the pale: sometimes it's fun because it's SO weird, but when I realised that most of the jokes are on women with no agency, rampant homophobia and absurd plot twists, I just regretted the 3 hours I spent on it. The only thing that kept me going is the gazillion of tiny achievements and collectables. But that's also the worst insult of the game: you finish it with less than 200 gamerscore, and then you have to play it again to get more. And of course the more you look at the jokes the worse they become.
If you do have Kinect, it might be worth a look - once you've finished Dance Central, Fantasia, Fru and even the golf games. It's for free in game pass. Just don't take it seriously - thankfully it doesn't take itself seriously either.

A brilliant wedding of motion and voice controls to the action-detective genre. Swery has made one of the best Kinect games of all time, with an interesting story and wonderfully eccentric characters.

Gráficos regulares, pero compensa con historia y banda sonora. Un gran juego si lo consigues de oferta. Lamentablemente no hay fecha para la temporada 2. Sin mucha utilidad con Kinect, es mejor el mando.

Imagine if Heavy Rain and Telltale games made love while on a bunch of acid. This is that game is their baby.

It has a unique art style very much in the vein of a graphic novel. It has many of the same interaction types as Heavy Rain and a super trippy and weird story. It is unique and has so much **** crazy stuff happening I don't know where to start.

This is just another game where if you do not have a kinect then there is no point to the whole thing because using gamepad is the worst and is boring!!!! The storyline is ok but I wish they gave me more things to do!!

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die is, by far, the weirdest video game that I have ever played. Words cannot express how strange I felt upon completion of it. Honestly, it cannot be said whether it was good or bad, but I can say it was intriguing.

It's totally worth the money, even though I got it for free over the Xbox Live Deals.

Fantastic game. Nice relaxing change of pace. The more you put into it trying to gather (and read) all the collectibles and the more you get to know the characters, the more you will adore this game. The music is outstanding and the humour is great! I can't wait to play the rest....

I hadn't followed this studio previous work (Deadly Premonition, right?) but i watched the trailer of the game and i can say that it looked pretty interesting. That main character is funny, interesting and just kinda gives you a good vibe and his detective partner is good to relax the situations (and apparently is a good cook). While in the game you meet all kind of bizarre characters and they mostly have good characteristics (some are over the top but that is what gives the game a lot of its personality) the game gives a TV Serie vibe (with even an intro) and playing it will probably give you a smile.
The gameplay is a little slow when using Kinect but it is definitely the way of playing it (except those pesky parts that you need to do something on time). The action scenes are the best i have played for an action game on Kinect, they detect you correctly, are not too complicated, look cool and are really funny.
The game is a little short but i can tell that is mostly good except for little filling. The only thing that really bother me was the Stamina system which really was pointless and cut the experience a lot.

9--Give it a shot if the trailer appeal to you, is a pretty solid game and i can't wait for the next episodes.

An insanely quirky game that changes the mood extremely often and stays fresh. I see this game has gotten some flack for being so strange and pointless, but I can assure you that the ones saying this just aren't diving into the game as much as they should. The first season can be cleared pretty quickly if you just do what is required of you, but if you take the time to search things out and read all the clues then you'll get much more of an experience from it. Even taking the quick route, this game is fun and does have some good mystery elements. At times it can be so overly quirky that it's painful but it just adds to the screwball cast of the mystery. After downloading this game at no cost I can't say that I have any complaints other than a few random graphical issues here and there. There is a lot of content here to find and unlock which really does give you more of an urge to replay the first episodes which in turn you have you finding and seeing things that you didn't catch the first time. A game I highly recommend to fans of 'Catherine' or even the quirkiness of 'Resident Evil: Revelations', because this is how the mood and characters of D4 feel. Fun while it lasts, but not a huge amount of replay in this first season (prologue and 2 episodes) and defiantly has you eagerly waiting for the sequel. Expand

Fun game, especially now, since it's free. May make you rage a bit though, if you're an achievement hunter, as the action sequences can be a bit confusing at times. Other than that, the story is interesting, and it's definitely a fresh and unique game.

This game was super unique and I really did enjoy it the whole way through. In a sea of ultra generic nonsense, D4 really stands out as a game that pulls as far away as it can from conventional gameplay, conventional storytelling, and conventional sanity in general.

I can only hope that the game garners enough attention to warrant a sequel.

An episodic, point-and-click adventure game in the same vein as the works of Telltale. However director Swery's special brand of weirdness that made "Deadly Premonition" such a cult hit gives this game an identity all it's own. His unique style pervades through every part of it.

The story is instantly gripping. Unique themes are prevalent throughout and the tone is constantly shifting.

The story is instantly gripping. Unique themes are prevalent throughout and the tone is constantly shifting. Moments can range from serious and emotional, to goofy or downright odd. An interesting and compelling world has been crafted and I can't wait to see where the tale goes from here. The only thing I would like to see improved are the graphics. I get that they were going for a graphic novel style with the cell-shaded graphics, but so many other games have shown how to do it better. This is far from looking next gen.

Gameplay is also on the very solid side. As typical with the genre you'll be exploring the environments and solving some great puzzles, but Access Games has thrown in some great scenarios. Plenty of side-quests are made available by the characters you'll meet and they usually offer some goofy thrills. Quick-time events are fun, mostly because of the crazy stuff that's happening on-screen. It's just a shame that you have to put so much emphasis on watching the inputs, because you miss some of the entertaining stuff that's being caused by them.

Overall though the only real issue the gameplay has is that the controls can be a touch awkward at times. I am basing that off of the controller method, as I was not able to test out the Kinect option. Still it didn't take me long to get used to them.

"D4" is a real treat that takes the oddball charm that I loved so much in "Deadly Premonition" and applies it to a compelling episodic adventure. With so much mystery in it's story and such a delightfully weird cast of characters the wait for season 2 is going to be grueling. Luckily there are plenty of reasons for me to dive back in to 100% percent this while I wait. These first three episodes can provide a unique experience for adventure game fans and I recommend you give it a look. My total score is an 8.9/10.

From the outset it is obvious that the entire game is meant to use the Kinect so I dusted the thing off and spent twenty minutes actually trying to find a place where it would work. It doesn't. Looking around requires some bizarre full body lean rather than a simple turn of the head and for some reason it was inverted so leaning left went right and vice versa. Then to interact with anything you have to clench your fist, which only seems to get recognised one tenth of the time. After ten attempts of leaning to the left, looking to the right and frantically trying to grab at an object I just gave up and turned on the controller instead.

Whilst this makes the game actually playable the controls are still genuinely hideous and awfully clunky. Without actually using the Kinect the game kind of has no point and the whole grabbing and pushing mechanic no longer makes any sense.

Perhaps there is a good story in the game but I couldn't get past the first five minutes without giving up entirely. The painful controls, bizarre stamina mechanic and overdone cell shaded style just get in the way completely.

For 15€ this is a steal - great modern adventure game with an interesting story, lots of content (6hours on my first play through) and kinect is NOT mandatory.

Buy it, you won't regret it. It's just a pity that Microsoft won't support it. If i hadn't browsed the store had no idea, that it was already available.

It probably would be more intuitive to play an adventure game with a steering wheel and pedals, when compared to the controls that D4 brings to the table. On top of that, the game is crippled with a stupid hunger minigame, that requires you to hunt food, or else you run out of stamina. The story is quite compelling and the wacky characters try their best to keep the game afloat, but the controls and the core mechanics just aren’t up for the task. [Feb 2015]
