    I can easily see why people would like this game. It's colorful, stylish, and unique. But it's for a certain type of gamer. I'm not that type of gamer. Because of it's difficulty and repetition, it puts itself in a class that isn't interesting to me. But more than just my tastes, the game does have additional flaws. 1) You can't turn in your upgrades (even at a reduced price) to get/tryI can easily see why people would like this game. Because of it's difficulty and repetition, it puts itself in a class that isn't interesting to me. But more than just my tastes, the game does have additional flaws. 1) You can't turn in your upgrades (even at a reduced price) to get/try something else. You could argue that this makes the game even more difficult, but I'd rather they increase the difficulty in a less aggravating way to locking you into an upgrade. 2) You can only go so far on simple mode, which isn't made clear at the beginning of the game. Thus, you might play through on simple for the story only to find out that won't get you to the ending. 3) Some bosses/boss parts can be easily defeated standing in a certain spot and/or doing a certain move, which you can grind to find out or watch YouTube. But to be fair, that's true for a lot of games. 4) When playing two players it can be hard to distinguish between you and your friend. I think Cuphead and Mugman should've been a little more unique from one another. 5) Should've had a kid mode so that not only could kids play this game, but casual adults too.

    Anyway, I prefer games with simple story mode or some online action. This game kept my interest for a night or two, but the aforementioned flaws and repetition was not my thing. If you're like me, this isn't the game for you.    … Expand

    Good to see games like this make a come back a little bit. Contra anyone? Sunset riders? Metal slug???

    Sadly this game is getting far more praise than it deserves. Yeah that kind of classic side scroller shooter is a blast from the past. Yeah it's visuals are kool and kind of new to gaming.     Cuphead is a gem of the game. Playing with my friends at mine has been so much fun and we've even set up days to come back and beat it and are still talking about it with how fun it was. The graphics are so unique, and the soundtrack as well. The gameplay is incredibly fun as well. My only gripe with the game is that playing solo really wasn't as much as playing with friends. But for 16Cuphead is a gem of the game. Playing with my friends at mine has been so much fun and we've even set up days to come back and beat it and are still talking about it with how fun it was. The graphics are so unique, and the soundtrack as well. The gameplay is incredibly fun as well. My only gripe with the game is that playing solo really wasn't as much as playing with friends. But for 16 pounds, or 20 dollars or whatever it is, its worth it even if you don't get around to completing it just because it such a special game.     This game is amazing. The graphics truly make this game look like it’s a classic cartoon. The music is also very old sounding, which adds some more charm to this game.     Buy this game if you love plat formers or old school cartoons. I found this game hard and even frustrating at times, but I never thought the game was unfair. Everytime I died, I knew it was my fault. That is why this game is great

    All in all I am struggling to find any real bad points to this game, everything about it brings a smile to my face. From the Hanna-Barbera style look, to the simply perfect soundtrack. Add to this the incredibly challenging yet rewarding game play and you have a perfect game.     Cuphead is an extremely great game. It is very unique in it's art style and brings new life to the future of indie games. You will get very angry while playing it but that just makes it feel even better once you beat a boss. I highly recommend this to anyone unless you have anger issues.

    JUST TAKE MY MONEY! This game is the most fun I had with my Xbox in months. The art style is stunning and the smooth sound track really brings me back. There are no checkpoints in the levels and they are quite hard. It really brings me back when you die and have to replay the whole level again.

    Every detail is amazing. At first you think some bosses are impossible, but after dying a hundred times you do get better. You can't leave the game because you always want to try again and again, also the graphics/soundtrack won't let you leave. A problem I realize is the slow loading on Xbox one.

    Plataformas con disparos de toda la vida. Este juego es uno de esos pocos juegos en el que solo al verlo es imposible no decir que es una obra de arte, la música, el dibujado, los movimientos....todo esta hecho con mucho cariño y dedicación, obra maestra.

    I've been waiting for this game for years and it's finally here! Boy did it deliver! Beautiful artwork, SFX and soundtrack made this a great way to revisit platform gaming. WARNING: This game is addictive and will try your patience just to get through the main story. However, nothing feels as good as actually mastering a game. If you like a challenge and great aesthetics, this is a 10/10!

    This game is a masterpiece in new enthusiastic design and art style in a game. The 1930's appeal to this visual appealing and is a great style for new further indie games to come for smaller game designers. And lets not forget about the pure torture and difficulty spike that this game throws at you within the first 30-40 minutes of playing the game after the tutorial

    This game is so fun and frustrating at the same time! I loved it.It was one of my best experiences in gaming and i recommend that y’all buy it,’cause you won’t regret it.I spent a lot of hours in CupHead trying to beat the same boss but i manage to finished it and what can i say? This game is so beautiful and i loved the cartoon graphics! 100% worth playing

    It's a lot of other things too, but it's main thing is that it is relentless with the player. Make the slightest mistake and you will pay. Again. And again. And again. This approach by the devs is intentional. It is very obvious that the game was designed with this philosophy. Now here's the thing. Someone can be relentless to you if they so wish, but    Cuphead is a relentless game.

    It's a lot of other things too, but it's main thing is that it is relentless with the player. Make the slightest mistake and you will pay. Again. And again. And again.

    Now here's the thing. Someone can be relentless to you if they so wish, but then you have to be relentless to them too.

    If someone expects excellence, then excellence should be expected from them .

    I'll take one point off for the tiny bit of lag when you press pause-down-A to restart.
    Another point off because the spinning move can't be done directly after jumping.
    Another point off cause the spinning move has the tiniest bit of lag.
    I'll take another point off for some weapons descriptions not being accurate.
    I'll take another point off cause the final bosses don't have an easy mode.

    Really couldn’t get into it, just felt too painful and unforgiving. However, that probably just comes down to preference of game style and thus I couldn’t fairy give it a negative score. The art style is also brilliant and should be reused in future games.

    What I really like about Cuphead is it's 1930 style art style and live jazz recordings. They really set the mood for the games. The bosses are tricky but never unfair. It's a game about learning and it's super fun! It's a shame it ended so fast. I may have liked to see some more levels but since every frame was hand drawn I can see how much effort has been put into the game. Truly amazing though.

    unbelievable beautiful but hard game. But at the same time it's fair. If you loose it's your fault and never a bug or something. The game itself is a little bit short but because it's so damn hard you spend countless hours on it.

    Fun game the first couple times but after you finish all the achievements there's not a lot of reason to go back. The parry could be much better in my opinion because it sometimes causes you to take damage or puts you in a worse position due to the fact it doesn't provide any i frames, aside from going for rank just dodging is usually a better alternative. The game is pretty tough, but only as hard as Contra in the 16bit days, although does remind me a bit of Battletoads with the unfairness on 2 player. Still, it's a game that brings hope that awesome 2D Contra style games are not dead. Let's justFor Xbone anyway, potentially GOTY. As for the gameplay, just as good if not even better. You see, Cuphead is a 'run and gun' type of game, it takes on a boss rush format with minimal platforming levels inbetween. this supplements the game well, as after a boss,Cuphead is so deeply beautiful, using an art style ripped straight from 1930's animation, Cupheads visuals alone leave you loving the game upon loading it up. As for the gameplay, just as good if not even better. You see, Cuphead is a 'run and gun' type of game, it takes on a boss rush format with minimal platforming levels inbetween. this supplements the game well, as after a boss, (which tend to take a rather long time to complete) I just need a breather, and hidden through out the run and gun stages are coins which can be used at a shop titled: 'Porkrinds Emporium' to purchase new gun types and charms. As for the story: 10/10 original. The game opens up with a storybook like cut- scene that screams authenticity. Cuphead and his brother, Mugman are traveling to the Devil's Casino. They gamble and are on a winning streak, when suddenly the Devil himself appears. He gives them an offer: if they roll a perfect 12 on the dice, they get to own the whole casino. If they dont? The devil takes their souls and uses them as drinkware. They run off to The Elder Kettle (presumably their care-taker) who gives them the ability to, you guessed it, 'Run and Gun!' And the boss rush formula never gets tedious as the bosses take so long to complete and have such visual flair, that you just get so invested in them. Overall, Cuphead is a genius creation by Studio MDHR and the years of development paid off. with great gameplay, visual flair, musical composition that is so good its on the verge of being tear jerking, and an overall truly memorable experience that no gamer should miss. 10/10.… Expand

    Where do I begin, this was one hell of a game and i highly recommend this game for people looking for a challenge. But this challenge will more than likely make you pissed off. Although the game is so amazing that you can’t stay away from it for a long period of time. I beat this game awhile ago but I will visit this game all the time.

    I definitely recommend picking up this game. It’s a great 2d platformer and a blast to play. Although it’s pretty difficult, anybody with a Xbox, Switch, or PC should pick up Cuphead.

    This may just be my opinion, but cuphead is an amazing game. The music is amazing and you really get the old timey vibe by just playing it for a few minutes. Its a nice challenge and a fun game to speedrun.

    I only gave this an 8 because it is so damn difficult!! Amazing “Steamboat Willy” esque art throwback style to classic animation. My friends won’t play this with me because it stresses them the hell out. Possibly harder than the old Contra games. Still if you’re up for a challenge, this is a great game if you’re up to deal with the devilish difficulty.

    Great visuals, fantastic music, feels like a classic game but yet a modern take. The game has an amazing art design, feels like the old cartoons back in the day. Love the simple but interesting story and the boss fights are challenging but the best part of this game.

    Lindo, desafiador e único. O jogo entrega o que tanto se esperava dele, com uma arte que retrata perfeitamente os desenhos antigos. Todos os chefes são criativos e especiais . A trilha sonora é impecável. Difícil, mas sem ser frustrante. è um clássico.

    I like hard games and especially when its about hard boss fights and fun boss fights. So this probably makes you think I like dark souls but dark souls has one problem for me and also its the reason I stopped playing it. this problem is the fact that if you die by a boss you have to walk 5 minutes again after a loading screen to just die again. So this probably makes you think I like dark souls but dark souls has one problem for me and also its the reason I stopped playing it. this problem is the fact that if you die by a boss you have to walk 5 minutes again after a loading screen to just die again. This just frustrates me as it is literally wasting my time.

    But this just confirms why I love cuphead so much because with just simply hitting one button on your controller after dying you can retry the boss immediatly. This is amazing and just lets me try a boss over and over again until I get the knockout. For me this just makes me wonder why doesnt darksouls put the respawns closer and why should it be a punish to die as it is just learning the game they made. But okay enough about dark souls.

    the combat in cuphead is good its most of the time just manufuring around the screen and shooting if you get the chance or just let loose of bullet hell to get as much damage in. The bosses are pretty hard and it took me about 200 deaths to finish the game.

    The only thing I really hated where the flying levels. This is the same with mario or any other 2d platform games with swimming levels. seriously nobody likes that its tedious! but besides that this game is amazing!

    artstyle and graphics wise you know it looks good!

    The tightest gameplay in any game I’ve played. Very difficult, but not punishing (as in you don’t lose a lot of progress for dying). Levels seem impossible at first, but you naturally get a little better each time until that run where you just barely scrape by with a win. It’s an absolute blast. And the art, animation and music make this the most stylish game I’ve ever played.

    One of the most impressive art styles in a game I have ever seen. The gameplay is challenging yet addicting, and the feeling you get when you finally beat a boss is amazing. One of the greatest OSTs in gaming as well.

The developers should at least not require you to play on a harder difficulty to progress the game. A crucial thing to have in a game is difficulty selection that doesn't effect the progression of the game at all. Thank goodness that the game doesn't require lives. Now that would be awful. So I give Cuphead and 8. I do like it, but the difficulty distorts the cool and creative Ideas.… Expand

From the art style paying homage to cartoons by Fleisher Studios and Walt Disney which were popular back in the 1930s, to the perfect level of difficulty that motivates you to improve upon your last attempt. The run-and-gun stages were unique and enjoyable, but are nothing compared to the brilliantly crafted boss fights. From your humble beginnings facing Goopy Le Grande all the way to the climatic battle with the Devil, there is no boss or song in the soundtrack that disappoints. With the addition of co-op in the game, you and a friend can take on the unique and quirky bosses together for incredible amounts of enjoyment. The only complaint to be found for me was that some of the charms (equipped items) such as Heart, Twin Hearts, and the Whetstone never tend to serve a purpose aside from the former two helping those still learning the game. Overall, if you either have not purchased the game, or finished playing, I would highly recommend giving this game a full chance.… Expand

    Great game in a beautiful cartoon style from the 30s. The game has excellent and varied bosses, a good soundtrack, interesting characters, levels. One of the best platform games ever.

    The wonderful art design, nod to classic cartoons and smooth controls are what stand out in this game. The only thing about this game that will drive some folks away is that it’s hard to master. Boss battles are just precious artwork and well-designed that should be appreciated to all that play. If you play it on the easier difficulty, you’ll be missing out on the boss battles because you won’t be able to see them transform for the second stage.    … Expand

    Cuphead has brought back the old school challenges of playing a game. Very difficult, and keeps you entertained and coming back for more! The art style is just one of a kind, and a pleasure to see. The very unique ideas behind the boss battles and feel of classic cartoons is just amazing. A must play for anyone who enjoyed the difficulty of playing games in the 90’s.

    - Soundtrack
    - Bosses are difficult, but fair
    - A lot of collectibles keep the game fresh
    - A lot of re-playability
    - Controls are incredibly responsive and tight
    - Multiplayer compatability

    this is and and always will be my favorite game ever made. The 1930's cartoon vibe is wonderful and the characters are all fun to watch. The boss fights are top notch to but be warned this game is tough and if you want a more chill game for younger kids then you should probably just play Kirby. With that said the feeling you get when you beat a boss is amazing please buy this game it'sthis is and and always will be my favorite game ever made.
