Crystal Ortha on Xbox One is one of the better KEMCO games of recent times. It’s a long way from groundbreaking, but has enough nice touches, and some decent puzzles, that make it worth playing. The story is good, most of the characters are endearing, and as such it’s an easy game to recommend to the JRPG fans out there. The story is good, most of the characters are endearing, and as such it’s an easy game to recommend to the JRPG fans out there. The gameplay follows the usual pattern as well; dungeons to explore and an over world to wander about. The dungeons are full of twists and turns, full not only of chests to find and loot, but also Carminas, which are making a return from earlier KEMCO titles. Crystal Ortha's combat is fun and satisfying; you can also say that skill system fairly deep. It has a good story line and Marsma turns into a bad-ass! The only thing I questioned is Tee is an off-putting character that gave me some deep thoughts. My overall experience with Crystal Ortha was quite nice and fun so I can easily say I suggest it for your Xbox One library. KEMCO's long list of titles for the Xbox One never seem to let you down, Expand

Crystal Ortha is a simple and highly enjoyable old-school RPG with impressively lovely 2D visuals and fantastic music. It might be a bit too simple for dedicated genre fans but there's still a fun and epic journey awaiting anyone willing to give it a go.

This game was a great example of adjusting a classic formula to be more palatable to a modern audience. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, and it definitely doesn't try to be for purists, but if you find yourself wanting to scratch that JRPG itch but don't have time for long play sessions, then Crystal Ortha should definitely be on your list.
