Crashbots' presentation is actually not as bad, as my overall rating may indicate. While Crashbots doesn’t have a ton of depth to it both the visuals and sound design add a little help to the gameplay that lets me down. Crashbots literally boils down to one problem, frustration. While Crashbots doesn’t have a ton of depth to it both the visuals and sound design add a little help to the gameplay that lets me down. Crashbots literally boils down to one problem, frustration. The game tests your patience in a a way that doesn't fit what frustration challenging games can bring to make you try, try and try again. While I did have some fun at first, the fun didn’t last long. Crashbots is basically falls in the speed runner genre and your primary objectiv is to get to the finish line while attacked by various obstacles along the way. The difficulty curve is a nightmare almost immediately and everything pretty much feels unfair as the game is almost intentionally making you fail. The controls don’t help as they are tight or responsive for the challenge present, and I never felt in full control of my robot. Technically the game suffers from a few issues and even though the issues aren’t game-breaking in the sense they do still take away from your overall enjoyment received while playing. Crashbots does have a few plus points such as a nice presentation and plenty of content to play. The problem is that playing Crashbot feels more like a chore than a game due to the issues I've mentioned. Crashbots is a game that I can’t recommend and the main reason why I can’t recommend it is because all the game seems to deliver to you is frustration in the end. The fun and rewarding feeling you get every now and then gets lost quickly. The price of admission isn't bad, but definitely not one of my favorites from Sometimes You. Expand

Even if the game can give you a good amount of hours of amusement, you will probably end exhausted before getting deep into the game.

Crashbots is an arcade game runner style that will demand from us the best, sometimes taking our patience to the limit. We have an unlimited career mode and another "campaign" mode that has 5 worlds. An indie title whose difficulty weighs down on your fun.

Crashbots is let down by some awful design and gameplay choices. The camera needs to be better. The energy system needs to be rethought. The controls are sluggish and need improvement. The physics need to be made more consistent. The technical issues need to be ironed out.
