Colossus Down plays like an ordinary side view over beat-them up, with players swinging MechaNika's sharp edge arm, terminating its shoulder-mounted detonating doll gun, and releasing an electrical burst to sear adversaries just as obstructing and avoiding adversary assaults. Allowing players to open uncommon moves and going from monstrous electric impacts to pouring hazardous doll heads, that can be incredible for getting out huge influxes of adversaries while utilizing them expects players to take harm.     Despite having some neat ideas across the board, the final execution of Colossus Down just feels a little too awkward and uninspiring. Clunky, repetitive combat and a teenage angst-filled story do little to inspire continued play. There are far better examples of the genre out there, on which your time is better spent.

    Colossus Down on Xbox is an interesting proposition, with game-changing choices to be made and an upgrade tree that can well reward multiple playthroughs. The violence is over the top, but awesome, the characters and enemies are well-drawn and designed, and the whole game is fun in short blasts. And therein lies the rub; this is not a game that I can sit down with for an extended period, as mashing X and pressing RB every now and again becomes tiresome.
