We don't need or want both supers and kill streaks in COD. Wall running doesn't belong in COD either, maps are too small for that. I think Advanced Warfare was a good formula for a future setting COD, the boost jump and strafing movement were creative and brought something new to COD, but now these COD's are just over the top. Time to bring boots back on the ground, hopefully Vietnam or Korea war setting next. COD needs to return to the great formulas of its past if it wants to will old fans over again.

Graphics aren't nothing to right home about, not very photo-realistic and COD4 looked much more realistic. Infinite Warfare maps look like something straight out of a child care day center. However, If you enjoyed Black Ops 3, I think you will enjoy this game a lot!

Now back to my real man's game, Battlefield 1...

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the first intergalactic entry in the series. Developed by the "new" Infinity Ward team, it is a slight improvement over their previous COD game, "Ghosts". Developed by the "new" Infinity Ward team, it is a slight improvement over their previous COD game, "Ghosts". However, this is a step down from Treyarch's "Black Ops" trilogy and is somehow less impressive than Sledgehammer's "Advanced Warfare". Featuring a campaign that allows players to branch away from the story, "Infinite" is ambitious. But the familiar gameplay keeps the installment from reaching greatness despite its new setting and options.

While the single player mode features optional side-missions and air combat, it lacks major innovation. The story is good and the CGI cutscenes that propel it are great. But at this point, the game feels like just another "Call of Duty". Unfortunately, the multiplayer aspect doesn't fare any better. Actually, it's worse since Infinity Ward seems to have put most of its efforts into the campaign. The competitive portion is like a scaled back version of Black Ops III's. It feels like a "cut and paste" job since it takes the "Specialists" from that game and renames them "Rigs". The online modes are basically a repeat of its predecessor with less impressive maps.

Thankfully, "Zombies in Spaceland" proves to be a lot more fun. Featuring an 80's Saturday morning cartoon theme, it is a more accessible take on Treyarch's formula. Set in a carnival, it is packed with features such as leveling up, crafting and traps. Overall, "Infinite Warfare" is an enjoyable installment, but it's also one of the weaker COD games. The genre has evolved ("Titanfall 2" and "Overwatch" are examples), so the series needs to take heed and re-create itself. I'd rate this with a 7.5 out of 10.

However, the campaign suffers from a weak narrative, generic characters and possibly the worst villain in Cod history. 6-7 hours in length, BTW.

The multiplayer though, gets praise from me for including splitscreen and the balanced pick 10 system from BL 2 and AW.

Zombies is also fun as well.

Campaign: I loved the campaign of Advanced Warfare, but hated that of BO3 and this one for the same reason... cut scene after cut scene, way too many.
It has really nice elements like the dog fights, but lacks at almost everything else.
The meant to be funny comments of the characters are lame and annoying. Sometimes one has to die and try several paths over a place just to find out,

Sometimes one has to die and try several paths over a place just to find out, where one is ought to go.
I stopped playing the campaign about half in i think, i just couldn't stand it anymore.
I enjoyed the MWR campaign, though that's not part of this review.

Multiplayer: I really liked the movement system of BO3, but in IW it feels slow and heavy, SMG's are the only weapons with which you can move somewhat fluid.
Some of the maps are really nice, like the destroyed Geneva, but most just look pretty much the same with different paths, which is one of the biggest problems.
Throwback in particular looks different but is the ugliest of all, it looks not even close to realistic, the wood panels on the barns are more like a wallpaper.
Several maps (esp. Frontier) are too chaotic, too many ways leading to every point, you can get shot in the back from multiple sides.

I don't like Zombies in general, so i didn't play that mode.

    My conclusion:
    - Campaign makes no fun, too many cut scenes and bad jokes
    - MP feels clunky, most maps are ugly and too similar

The MP movement is a completely copy and paste from BO3 but not as fluid, makes me wonder if this game really took 3 years to develop. Supply drops make a comeback with exclusive variants that are of course stronger than the base weapons, I can see this really messing with the balance in MP just like COD:AW. I must admit, I did dislike the trailer on YouTube and every other video that was related to it, but I gave the game a chance nonetheless. There's a lot of stigma behind this game because of its progression to space and how there is an overabundance of space-futuristic shooters. During the Sony E3 2016 press conference, they demoed this game without showing the title at the beginning. I don't know why at first I thought it was Star Citizen but the demo blew me away. And then it really surprised me when it said Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare at the end of the demo. It did get me hooked and I was intrigued.

So when I indeed played the campaign, it really did surprise me with how different it plays out. The Star map and build up to each mission reminds me of Mass Effect and how you have to choose missions and you can talk to NPCs. Although the campaign is short, it still is a well rounded great experience.

    Multiplayer is **** though.

What can I say, another year another disappointing, all too familiar Call of Duty release.

I'll begin with the positives as there are a few I'd like to go over for this years Call of Duty release. First up is the campaign, it's quite an improvement over the typical CoD campaign, while it does lack variety it makes up for that in making your actions feel like they have some weight to them for a change. Taking out enemy ships and choosing which target to strike next is fun and rewarding.

the story line is very typical of these games, nothing special with its big bad villain and oorah marines of old but it serves its purpose.

The ship you control during the dogfight is painfully simple but still manages to be a lot of fun, rarely did the game ever feel dull during the moments when I was allowed to fly a ship and take on the enemy. This is probably the biggest surprise of the entire game, it's a genuinely nice addition to the tired CoD franchise at this point.

Zombies mode is the most fun it has been in a long time, I always felt that it was getting too complex and convoluted following the story of the 4 characters the mode became heavily focused around. This years version somewhat simplifies it but keeps it fun. It feels as though it isn't as difficult to make it to the higher rounds now but still has a fair challenge to it. The hit detection has largely been improved too which is always a plus.

The multiplayer is pretty poor, while the gameplay feels fast and smooth it just feels as though there is too much going on once people start earning their kill streaks. On top of that the spawn system is awful, it was not uncommon for me to spawn in front of an enemy soldier or around the corner from the enemy team, this could be fixed but I highly doubt it will be. The maps feel mostly uninspired with the typical corners and corridors design being used once again that we've seen in pretty much every Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare.

Overall this game just doesn't do enough to justify yet another yearly release, Activision need to take a break and revitalize this franchise or it will continue to see its sales drop off from the previous years installments. The height of Call of Duty's success is over, it's no longer selling on name alone and it's time to earn gamers desire for this series back once again.

The future-space warfare theme is tired which becomes especially apparent when compared to the remastered Modern Warfare. Infinite Warfare is missing some of the grit and the tension of previous COD generations. Sprinting around with a bunch of mechs in a completely unrelateable experience. Walking around the "Downpour" map in MW on the other hand is a whole other level of gameplay. I hope that Activision is tracking stats of MW closely so that they see what a significant portion of the player population prefers boots on the ground over floating robots.

IW is extremely polished and I find it highly playable. The maps don't flow that well and they are mostly forgettable. Some maps have choke points that end up representing 80% of all gameplay on that map, and in my mind that is poor design.

For what it's worth, I am spending my time in Modern Warfare in hopes that next year's release will give us what we finally want.

Many of the people disliking this game "reviewed" it before it even came out. This is the best single player campaign since Modern Warfare, and the multiplayer is typical Infinity Ward: polished, fluid, at times frustrating (lots of really great players out there), and fun - albeit somewhat familiar. The addition of some Zombie-related activity is a boon for fans of Treyarch-developed CoDs.

I haven’t been around a call of duty game since ghosts… So maybe Advanced Warfare and Blackops 3 were worse... but as far as Im concerned... this is hands down the most boring first person shooter campaign ive played through ever as it completely lacks any variety…And the sad thing is that it doesn’t start that way... It creeps there…
As stated again, the beginning is great, and this game is gorgeous… You also take part in ship combat just as much as on foot… And this campaign is a record breaking 7 hours long…
But its padded out with the same boring side quests where you’re either going on foot into the same enemy ship over and over or getting into space battles that after you’ve experienced the first 3 are just no fun at all…
At first it’s thrilling and you can feel the smirks activision is giving at no man’s sky as you’re locking onto enemies and taking them out… and then you do it again.. And again…. And again…
The only redeeming quality of these side missions which really take up about 3 of the 7 hours is that they all feature collectibles in the form of actual characters... there are these wanted collectibles that attach a name and a face to random soldiers throughout different missions…
This is probably the coolest way to do collectibles and Id love to see it return in future games..
    This campaign isn’t all bad...
The beginning moments of the campaign also smacked me with so many epic moments... the story missions had character… But as soon as I became captain the game went downhill…
But who buys call of duty for single player besides me and like 3 other people…
I’m just saying once you get bored, and believe me.. You will...
Don’t drag yourself forward in hopes it gets better... because it doesn’t…
The gameplay... the shooting… the wall running…
All of it here feels bad... which is surprising...
Call of Duty’s running and guns have been the standard I judge other first person shooters with…
And they don’t even live up to their own standards here... variety is lacking, the robot enemies you fight throughout the campaign are bullet sponges which takes away the slicing through cheese satisfaction I expect from a call of duty campaign, and the jetpack and wall running ripped from titanfall feels garbage… They better rehire those guys to fix it for them and then fire them again after they have their secrets…. There’s no stickiness that makes it feel great in that game… it feels awkward every time you do it…
So you played single player for the 10/10 first 2 hour experience.. Rightfully got bored, let’s hop into some multiplayer…
You can either play zombies which this time is set in a 80s theme park, complete with the lingo and 80s music playing in the background…
    And of course competitive multiplayer…
And thankfully the multiplayer redeems as these maps are all greatly designed…
and fun to play in... At least in standard modes...
I’m not really sure what call of duty is going for with its spawn trapper mode front line
and I’m not a fan of the added gimmicks either...
If snipers weren’t annoying enough, now we have sliders and jumpers..
The jetpacks and sliding I feel add more variables of luck and cheap tactics that you don’t deal with in simple run and gun style…
The wall running can stay as it keeps the gameplay even more fast paced than usual…
But my targets getting away from me by sliding or flying around is more of a nuisance than a cool added element to strategy…
If it’s not broke don’t fix it..
There’s a reason were craving competitive shooters set in the past rather than the future…
In the case of this genre... the simpler the better…
Overall Infinite Warfare is a let down…
New maps are all it has going for it…
I give Call of Duty Infinite Warfare
    a 7/10

Infinite Warfare is the antithesis of a worthwhile shooter. Infinity Ward was better off developing Ghosts 2. Ironically, Activision’s paranoia about criticism led it to make worse games than it would had Activision tuned out the haters. Even with an extra year in the development cycle, COD games are at their lowest point. Advanced Warfare was the most innovative “future” COD game. Unfortunately, the boring weapons, restrictive maps, and horrible lag held it back. Nothing changed with the next 2 games. The COD franchise is no longer about innovation, and it’s certainly no trendsetter. COD is now playing catch up, and it’s failing.

Even run-of-the-mill Titanfall 2 is better despite its glaring flaws. Battlefield 1 is hands down the best shooter to buy this year. Period. Just get it. Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition is also a fantastic buy because it contains 5 games and a season pass. Halo 5 is still active and receiving free updates/dlc. There’s no compelling reason to purchase IW with so many robust shooters on the market.

So why do I hate it? First, IW is the glitchiest and most incomplete COD I’ve played. It freezes and crashes constantly. Downloading updates is a hassle. Matchmaking is atrocious. Lobbies rarely contain max player counts. Players are booted from matchmaking. Lobbies lag out. The countdown timer gets stuck on an infinite loop. IW is missing tons of features, such as the emblem editor, leaderboards, recent friends list, and network options.

Next, matches aren’t fun. Highly skilled, prestiged players are regularly pitted against newcomers. As a result, most of the games I’ve played are completely lopsided. This leads to poor participation. Once matches go south, players drop out. On release night, I saw lobbies where the same 3 or 4 players had 40+ kills and no one else topped 10. It will only get worse. Players are less likely to leave matches if they aren’t getting their butts kicked all the time. As a result, teams often don’t have even player counts. I doubt there’s a big enough player base to offset these problems.

Proper matchmaking is not a priority at Activision because it’s too cheap to provide fulltime dedicated servers. COD still relies on peer-to-peer connections. This is an inferior and obsolete way to host “competitive” shooters which is the very reason why other shooters dumped it.

This leads into IW’s next game-breaking problem: LAG. The lag-or rather lag compensation- is the worst I’ve seen to date. Gameplay footage I’ve examined shows targets being hit with 5-8 rifle rounds at mid/long range but absorbing all that damage and landing instakills with smgs. I’ve seen players nailed in the back with shotguns who then spun around to kill their attackers. IW is truly a shoot first, die first experience for many players. As the population shrinks, lag will get worse. COD’s rotten lag compensation severely penalizes players based on connection, and it’s the worst in the industry. This problem is compounded by the insanely quick time-to-kill. Lag can be slightly offset by increased health. However, COD deceptively imposes the “everyone is a progamer” mentality, so quick TTK lets twitchy teens feel like they’re good at something.

IW’s supply drops and “crafting” are other big issues. Players can either play for hundreds of hours or spend real money to unlock better weapons. Many will opt for the latter option. These advantages tilt matches unfairly towards people willing to “pay to win” because the stronger weapons are behind a paywall. Add this to the $60 admission price plus the DLC costs and IW becomes too damn expensive. Earning weapons is a crapshoot since drops are random. Players can build weapons with “salvage” but accumulating it takes a lot of time. The new unlock system is the grindiest of all COD’s and rivalled by only Destiny. No one I know has the time to “earn”, so if they don’t pay up, they’re behind the curve. Are the locked weapons that much better? The ones I have are noticeably stronger. This system is another knock against casual gamers.

IW has scores of other problems. Like fewer weapons that all perform similarly. Several enclosed maps that prevent scorestreak usage or make them impossible to counter. UAV spam is annoying enough, but on several maps there’s no way to blast them out of the sky. IW heavily favors killstreaks because objectives earn drastically less points than previous COD’s. So objective players like myself get screwed. Ironically, the campaign is the best part of IW.

Infinite Warfare is a glitchy, laggy, half-assed product buried under unnecessary paywalls. Activision has trivialized COD into irrelevance. Its primary markets are tweens who believe quickscoping is a skill or gamers unwilling to try anything else. With so many great titles available for next gen consoles, Activision ought to be worried. Those who rate IW highly have low standards. The rest of us will watch from the sidelines as the franchise self-destructs.

After 3 hours of playing, the game constantly was freezing and had serious frame rate issues causing it to be very unplayable. The only reason you would ever pick this game up is if you buy the Legacy Edition to play COD4: Modern Warfare Remastered. COD has completely abandoned the traditional COD games. The "futuristic" movement abilities, specialists, and overall core experience of the game has ruined what made COD great. Simplicity, fun, and rewarded skill. IW doesn't fulfill any of this criteria.

Players who suck get specialist perks that allow them to get easy kills with little to no effort. Movement abilities ruin the gameplay making it so you have to boost jump and wall run just to get across the maps, and for people who don't use an Elite or Scuf controller, this can be very difficult since you have to take your thumb off of the joystick to keep hitting A. So you keep getting killed when just trying to play the game how it was intended.

    Pros-
-eSports have another game that blends in with the 10 other games with big prize pools.
-If you have an Elite or Scuf controller this game might be fun.
-If you liked BO3, Destiny, and Overwatch, or just have so much ADHD that you can't play a game like BF1 or another shooter that has longer times between gunfights, then Infinite Warfare is the game for you.
-COD4: Modern Warfare Remastered for Legacy.

    Cons-
-Specialists compress the skill gap by giving players easy kills. This is basically the equivalent to Death Streaks, something that was in MW2 and MW3, but now every person can get them. So people that are skilled will have so much of an advantage on everyone else that the game will push away lesser skilled players because they will always be dying.
-Wall running and boost jumping is not effective and fairly difficult for players who don't have a Scuf or Elite.
-Game freezing (may be linked to lag) makes the game unplayable for many.
-Traditional COD has been pushed aside to again pushing away even more fans who still had some hope for boots on the ground.

Conclusion: 1/10- Just go buy BF1 or buy IW for COD4: Modern Warfare Remastered. If there are other games you thought about buying this holiday season or early next year, then buy them instead. IW is a complete pass.

Call of Duty has become more about refining the ideas that have already been cast in years past and nothing about forging ahead with new ideas that would freshen up the series. When you've got Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 to play this year, why would anyone waste their money on another Call of Duty game that has done what each of its previous ones have done: rip off each other. The last great CoD games were Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2. Since then, this series has done the absolute least to push itself forward. If apathetic attention to detail and a horribly-mediocre effort to be either creative or militaristic-ly precise are what drives you to games, then Infinite Warfare is your jam. But let's be honest, few people actually want to play these games anymore and Activision is steering its ship right into every iceberg at sea. It's only a matter of time before the entire ship sinks, and it will absolutely sink. Expand

The sound and the score composed by Sarah Schachner is superb and one of the best original scores I have heard in a game this year, and definitely one of the best COD original scores ever.
The characters are interesting, relatable and fun, unlike the boring, unlikable **** of Black Ops 3 and the overall story is intelligent and engaging - again unlike the abysmal, nonsensical campaign and writing of Black Ops 3 (anyone remember "train go boom"?).

You even have full command over your own ship and for the first time in the series you have full control of your very own space fighter ship called a "Jackal".
You use these during some of the campaign missions and in separate side missions and they are basically space dog fighting sequences and they are epic fun! Destiny could learn a thing or two from these missions instead of relegating their space ships to loading screens.

Imagine the awesome space dog fighting missions from Halo Reach, only faster and even more epic, a mix of that and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.

And yes you heard me correctly, the campaign not only has its own story based missions but you also have side missions that you can tackle also, and you can do these in any order you want, from assaulting an enemy cruiser to hunt down and eliminate a high value target to the aforementioned Jackal missions you are given full control on how and when to do these missions from the bridge of your very own space battle cruiser via a holographic map of the solar system.
See a mission on Venus you want to investigate? Something on the outer rim of the solar system near Pluto catch your eye? Give the order and your battle cruiser jumps into faster than light speed and you jump to that planet or moon, no loading screens! Its amazing!

The MORONS rating this so low obviously have not even touched the campaign and are just drinking yet more of the hate cool-aid that spews from the teat of the first trailer released on YouTube, as you can see none of them are talking about the campaign and are only focusing on the multiplayer and thats a shame as that is this games strongest asset and the best the series has had in many many years, easily puts anything Treyarch has done to shame since WaW, wipes the floor with anything Sledgehammer has done and easily laughs in the face of Infinity Wards own efforts since MW2.

I'm a single player guy so I wont be writing up a detailed analysis of the multiplayer, but from the time I have invested into the mode I can say with confidence it is a drastic improvement on the lag-fest and janky mechanics that was Black Ops 3, and looks and runs a lot smoother too, at least on Xbox One.

TTK seems good but there definitely seems to be an issue with lag compensation from time to time, but this is nothing really new with a COD game, and once you get used to it and start to unlock some better weapons and attachments and learn the map layouts you can start to have fun, despite the typical **** scummy, cheap players attempts to stop you from doing so that you get in every multiplayer game these days. (campers, cheaters, exploiters (saw one POS hiding under the map and shooting people who I reported to Microsoft) in general cowardly, try hard losers etc etc, ya know, the usual scum of xbox live.)

A few features are missing but again, I dont really care that much about the multiplayer to really give a damn, as COD is all about the single player experience to me, and the MP is the throw away aspect. In that respect this game is the COD game of this generation for me, that and it being a remarkable improvement over the slow, low frame rate, poorly written and ugly mess that was Treyarchs pathetic attempt at last years COD is the reason why i'm rating it so highly.

Oh yeah, and Zombies in Spaceland is the new gold standard for co-op zombies mode, another thing all these cool-aid drinking 12-year old haters are forgetting to mention. Its a standout mode that, when combined with the superlative campaign, easily makes this the best COD of this generation.

    Buy it.

Just ignore the micro-transactions, but thats not the games fault, thats the fault of the industry at large and party YOUR/OUR fault for buying into shady business practices like that in the past thus making them popular with publishers and an acceptable thing to do in their eyes. Vote with your wallets and use your brains from time to time and **** like micro-transactions wouldn't be a thing.

Call of Duty is now officially a sci-fi shooter. Yet, for all of it's space battles and laser guns there isn't much new here outside of some changes to the campaign. The majority of the package is simply Black Ops 3 meets Ghosts.

The campaign is desperately trying to be Mass Effect. You get your own ship with captains quarters and flight deck where you select missions. You even take orders from a character very similar to Captain Anderson. Side-quests even make their return from Black Ops 2. Other changes include zero gravity space battles and an emphasis on air battles with your own customizable ship.

Ultimately these changes don't make much of an impact of the player experience because the whole thing devolves into a Michael Bay style explosion-fest early on. The set-pieces the series is known for is literally just explosion after explosion. Even the ship battles fall prey to this. That's not to say that it doesn't have some memorable moments. A stealthy sniper side-mission in zero G really shows the beauty of space and a rescue mission that has you being swarmed with robots are the standout moments. The problem is that the rest of the campaign just isn't very good. The story doesn't fare well either.

I just wasn't able to get invested in the characters or follow anything that was going on. It's all so uninteresting and the villains are flat. It's hard to view these guys as a real threat as you just steamroll them at every turn. Kit Harrington isn't very believable as the main baddie either. It's not that he gives a bad performance. Quite the opposite. It's just that he isn't really the villain type. Not only is he not menacing enough, but he barely shows up over the course of the story. A big shock considering the whole thing is over in just a few hours. Not even the handful of side-quests do much to extend the length.

The multiplayer is just a mess. It's all but identical to Black Ops 3, they just mixed the crappiness of Ghosts in there with an extra layer of suck. It feels unbalanced and conflicts are usually one-sided. There are issues like spawn camping and it's just too darn chaotic to be any fun. It really is just a broken version of Black Ops 3's multiplayer.

Zombies is the only good mode in this package. That's because Treyarch's core design of Zombies is just inherently good. Personally, I think Infinity Ward should have made a follow up to their Extinction mode from Ghosts. Not only was that mode just as good as Zombies, but it was their original idea for the COD series. It's quite obvious Infinity Ward is just playing it safe with this move.

What I like about Infinity Ward's Zombies mode is that it isn't as hardcore of Treyarch's last few. It's not as complicated and has a cool 80's theme. There isn't as much to dive into and as a result it's a good return to the just plain silly fun of the modes inception. It's still great getting together with friends to find and complete everything. Getting set to an arcade after death to play mini-games in order to resurrect yourself is a nice new addition.

Unfortunately for us and Infinity Ward, one good mode does not a satisfying game make. Considering the campaign and multiplayer hit some of the series lowest points, Infinite Warfare stands out as the worst COD yet. At least in the main series. The outright bad multiplayer is the worst offender, considering it's always been the series biggest strength.

The hallmark of call of duty single player is the worlds best cinematic moments. But Infinite Warfare doesn't really have any, at least not even close to the memorable ones in the past. It's all predictable and poorly written. With huge explosions going off almost constantly I couldn't be wowed at any particular moment. The only real break in the worn out formula is going to the ship between missions. Eavesdropping on conversations and listening to audio logs feel like a poor imitation of better games in that respect like Bioshock Infinite. The multiplayer is passable in it's clear copying of TitanFall which actually took the whole movement mechanics besides wall running from the Crysis series.(Give Crytek a billion dollars). And after playing a huge load of Black Ops Zombies(good times) the z mode is not worth playing at all. While doubtful, it would be a great thing if the call of duty franchise took a long hiatus(is a decade enough?). That way, better games could get the recognition they will soon deserve. Expand

But it does have a great story which keeps you engaged long to get to the end of the campaign. The weakest point which I really hated to say, but in my opinion it's the Zombies mode, the map that came with the Legacy Edition, "Zombies in Spaceland", it is so freaking childish like, it's like a joke, I mean I will play it but it's just not as good as it once was. Infinite Warfare may lack the extremely fun aspect of Zombies, but with an intense multiplayer and an exhilarating campaign, this game is almost enjoyable, almost, but nonetheless it's an ok game, not a great game or a memorable game, but an ok game. This provided something new that we never really experienced on this level in a Call of Duty game . I found replay value in the campaign and I will play it over and over again . Multiplayer is not as bad to me , it is very similar to previous titles , true . But this does not provide sufficient reason for a negative review but again , this is my opinion and my level op expectation for the mulitplayer modes are low compared to others so this is good enough for me . The zombies mode is a very enjoyable bonus feature which I also find very addictive and enjoyable . Infinity ward did a really good job but unfortunetaly this title will not satisfy every gamer out there . I love this game as it ticks all the right boxes on my list . Expand

The COD4 Remake is somewhat playable but they decided, for no apparent reason, to drastically nerf directional cues, rendering gameplay unbalanced again because you cannot hear where enemies are coming from. A terrible decision that should not be forgiven considering they have now patched it multiple times but are missing this glaring elephant in the room. Not good enough.

Oh boy where to start? I've got to say, this is by far the worst futuristic COD that is out on store shelves right now.

Let me start off with the campaign, not that anyone really cares about it, but it has a campaign so hey ho. You are set some time in the future, and Earth is being attacked by, what seems to be a resistance on Mars. This resistance seemed to be keeping it's hands to itself, but certainly jumps off that boat when the enemies come to earth and mow innocent civilians down like free candy comes out of their heads. Overall the campaign is shockingly well done, but certainly doesn't do it on it's own merits. It takes pretty much the whole galaxy map from Mass effect, and the characterization, and the ships pretty much straight from Mass effect. I would also hesitate to say, that some parts from the campaign are ripped straight out of Mass effect, and put into COD. Which makes me slightly frustrated because I love Mass effect.

Anyways, that's not all. Remember that spaceship dogfight in Halo reach? You know that one cool level? In a good game? Well COD IW continually seems to be generic and unoriginal, because the developers thought that we wanted to play that same level, over and over again. That's pretty much it when it comes to the space battles, just a rip off of Halo reach, and does the same thing over and over again.

Now the multiplayer. I did say this wasn't the worst COD I've ever played, but it certainly has the worst multiplayer I have ever touched. There's really not much to say about it other than it is literally a clone of Black ops 3. I've never really said that about a game before, but honestly the resemblance is scary. The only thing that really toots my horn, is that imagine black ops 3, but with maybe 10 hp. That's the only thing that's new and it makes the game just more simplified and generic for the casual players. In black ops 3 at least, you could take a few hits, but still survive and you can bob and weave. It made the gunplay more interesting and unique because for the first time in COD for awhile, you could still stand a chance against an enemy. But take that away, then you're left with a boring online shooter to which you keep dying and dying over and over, and it's just whoever sees each other first will die first. Nothing new, nothing really taken away, but it's still worse somehow.

Now zombies. Now I must admit that this is probably the best zombies mode I've ever played in a COD game. The story is all wank, and bollocks but it made sense. You're actors, teleported into a movie world of zombies, because the director wanted to make a zombie movie, and he wanted the real deal. It has humor, characters with actual personalities, even though it's stereotypical, but hey it works. But still they haven't fixed my overall problem with it. What's the bloody point? All you do is keep shooting zombies for hours and hours over and over, but there's no sense of progression, sure you might open a door to a new area, but for what? What is our main objective? Other than killing zombies, and opening up new areas. Even if there is, I never got to the end, because just like before you keep grinding until the zombies become almost impossible to kill.

Overall, not the worst COD, but certainly not the best. I'd have to say it would go down in my history book as the second worst COD in front of ghosts. The campaign is very well done, but doesn't do anything new or original just steals things that worked in other games and put another name on it. The multiplayer is bollocks, with unlocks and customization options that are hilariously shallow and pointless, and just a copy of Black ops 3. Zombies is well done, but as the problem was before, there's no point to it. Overall can't recommend, get Battlefield 1 or Titanfall 2 instead.

I did not know what to expect when going into Infinite Warfare. All of the hate and controversy surrounding it threw me off. However, I tried to put it aside when playing for the first time, and all I am going to do is be honest. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare absolutely is not worthy of the hate it received upon its reveal.
I will agree that the multiplayer does feel fairly lacklustre compared to Black Ops III, it is a nearly identical copy with inferior gameplay, and I honestly did not enjoy the Zombies mode that much. So why have I given this game an 8/10? Because I believe that it has the best CoD campaign in years.
The last CoD campaign to truly amaze me was 2008's World at War. Since then, I feel the series has devolved into simply a mindless action series with ever decreasing substance with each entry, but Infinite Warfare has given me new hope for better campaigns in the series.
The IW campaign does break the norm when it comes to the series, in minor and major ways. For example, you actually get to choose the missions you go on, you are not necessarily following a linear story progression, you shape the story and make all of the calls. The entire campaign had a strong sci-fi vibe with a surprisingly engaging story and a memorable cast of characters. There are also many missions where you pilot your own ship, and the flight controls are fantastic, with a shocking amount of freedom in movement and even gravity and orientation adjustment.
One other area that I feel is often overlooked with Call of Duty games is the soundtrack, and Infinite Warfare's music I found to be phenomenal, a perfect mix of electronic music and 'real' music, and I feel as if it fit strongly with the setting.

I could go on for ages talking about what Infinity Ward nailed in the campaign, but I want to keep this review from being too long. I'm going to end this by saying, if you are a sci-fi fan, there is a chance that you may love Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as much as I do. I respect Infinity Ward for standing their ground after the negative response this game recieved, and being able to pull of one of the best single player experiences in the series I have had. I do sometimes enjoy the multiplayer, but it depends on how I feel at the time.

TLDR: Mediocre multiplayer, personally didn't like Zombies but you may like it, loved the campaign.

    7.5/10 (8 on Metacritic since 7.5 is closer to 8 than 7)

That being said, this game like the other CoD's before it is split into three different segments. Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.

Campaign 9/10: Seriously one of the best Call of Duty campaigns since Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. This story follows one main character and is chock full of epic space battles and crazy anti gravity shootouts. It is freaking amazing.

Multiplayer 7/10: The multiplayer in this title is weak. The "Rigs" are basically Black Ops 3 specialists except not as unique looking. Some of the new modes don't really make sense, like Frontline where you always spawn at your base. Its basically TDM with set spawn points. Customization is there, but not as much as Black Ops 3. I'm not bad at Call of Duty, but I found that I die extremely quickly. Maybe it has something to do with the supply crates that you can buy that has random guns that come with perks. Basically pay to win. The ONE good thing is has is the missions. These are little side objectives that you can do for certain groups. You level up within that group and unlock unique emblems and tags.

Zombies 8/10: I was never a big fan of Zombies. I'm more of a lone wolf player and zombies is something for people that like to party up all the time. That being said, this iteration called Zombies in SpaceLand is amazing. It's set to this 80's movie amusement park, and the characters you play as reflect that 80's vibe. Its full of secrets and boss fights, celebrities pop up. It's just crazy, one of the better zombies modes I played.

I would recommend this game just for the campaign alone which is amazing. But I'll be going back to Black Ops 3 for multiplayer.

The multiplayer is a more refined version of what Black Ops 3 offered, however I feel it is far less aggravating. I hated Black Ops 3 because of the specialist abilities and everyone flying around in the air with their stupid jet packs left and right. While the same movement system remains in Infinite Warfare, it isn't as prevalent or relied-upon as it was with the predecessor. Overall, I'd say this game isn't perfect, as it's definitely a work-in-progress on the multiplayer side. However, I don't think it's as bad as everyone thought Expand

This means that you have to buy more currency to get even a chance at getting one of these guns.
All in all, this game sucks. It reeks of greed and corruption inside the Call of Duty series. Call of Duty used to be a great franchise, but now its nothing but a cash cow.

For a company that tried to lie to their fans and tell them zombie mode isn't strong enough for a standalone game (good enough to sell all 3 versions of COD though) they can have no complaints for the justified hate they are receiving.

Also forcing people to buy this game just to get the MW remaster is a complete scumbag move. With business practices like this Call of Duty will be finished in a few years.

I would say this is definitely an awesome story that is worth playing through.

The Multiplayer is fun as well. It's similar to Black Ops 3 but has a few things that put it above. First, the maps are very well designed. There aren't any dead spaces in the maps and I generally look forward to playing all of them. Secondly, the payloads (which are your character which has special abilities) are just as fun if not more so to use than Black Ops 3. If I had to levy a complaint at the Multiplayer, it is that they have micro transactions while also selling a season pass. If they released the maps for free but had micro transactions I would be ok with it, but the face that they're charging for both is a bit scummy.

Zombies is also very fun. Called Zombies in Spaceland, it is a very detailed playground with plenty of fun things to explore. Unlike Black Ops 3, Infinite Warfare's zombies manages to create a complex map which also is fun to play if you just want to mow down zombies and not worry about other stuff. I do wish they had more then one map though, as one map does get old after a while.

Overall it is a very enjoyable game. It isn't perfect, but I would say it is definitely worth the purchase and uses its si-fi themes well.

Other than that this feels like a mirrors edge knock off built for twitch game play for 14 year olds. That description may actually be what they were going for. When I want a war game I want a gritty war experience. Here you have neon painted pricks sliding everywhere insta blaping you do death seconds after spawning. Perhaps I am just terrible at this game but as much gaming as I do this one felt so unsatisfying.

The absolute worst part is the level design for multiplayer. There is no range maps. It all feels like fighting shoebox close range space to another shoebox close range space. I don't even know why they have a sniper weapon set. They also put in quirky wall running curve walls which leave you vulnerable and feel wonky. Dont waste your money. I keep telling myself not to buy in to MW games. This is officially the last time I will purchase one of their games.

The zombie map is great every time infinity ward always make a great zombie maps for COD fans like to play on. Every time that infinity ward makes a new call of duty they always get better graphics and colour and they create the best zombie maps of all time.
What I love about infinite warfare is you play the role of acting captain of a sky carrier and that you have a massive crew. Its gets bit sad near the end when the captain’s crew risk their lives just to protect their commander.
I enjoy playing call of duty, it’s basically my life and every time I get back from school or college, I go on play on call of duty right away right I do my homework and have my dinner.
My favourite character on infinite warfare is Ethan because he is awesome and he’s great in a fire fight but it’s upsetting that Ethan orders the commander to self-destruct him to complete the mission.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Of all the Call of Duty games I've played over the years, Infinite Warfare for me was the most underwhelming and largely forgettable installment I've ever played. Okay visually the game is pretty good like a lot of the AAA releases this generation. But after seeing the gameplay at most I was only willing to rent the game just to see if it was really as bad as people say it was. Though for me like the Fantastic 4 reboot, IW didn't turn out to be as bad as many of the user reviews say but it definitely wasn't an experience I'd find memorable.

For starters, when I played the campaign, the game's opening level was surprisingly disappointing compared to the more action packed and epic openings of previous installments (even Black Ops III's opening was more memorable for me) and ended with a introduction to game's main villain that felt like "Hello I'm the guy that you pretty much know nothing about and also I'll be your main villain for this game." Then the game's story turns into the generally clichéd action story about a small handful of people trying to take down a military that outmatches them 10 fold. Now the characters were also pretty forgettable to where I can't even remember the names of the characters unlike other Infinity Ward developed titles. And for me the campaign felt the shortest of the entire franchise to date. Unlike Ghosts however, the storyline doesn't set itself up for a sequel (which in Ghosts' case coming off from the success of the MW trilogy, it isn't surprising how IW would want to start another trilogy) which considering sales will most likely not going to happen. But the side missions (which make up the bulk of the campaign) primarily involving flight combat and the level in which you're on an asteroid attempting to save workers from robots hacked by the game's main antagonist faction (which is somewat like a remake to a similar level in BO3) were the points of the game where I had some genuine fun in it. Especially with the ability to hunt down SDF leaders which can be considered the game's form of "intel". Overall the campaign is a mixed bag with some good ideas weighed down by a largely forgettable story and cast, and poor execution.

Now the multiplayer, were I reviewing this component ALONE, I would give this a lower score but the campaign saved it though not by much. The multiplayer while at first appears to be your standard CoD multiplayer frag fest with a rough version of Titanfall's parkour elements mixed in, eventually shows itself as a blatant Pay-2-Win grind similar to Black Ops 3's multiplayer. Like in BO3, you pick a class which is based on the your general playstyle with an ultimate ability which charges either by time or gaining enough kills. Now the multiplayer this time around seems to have pretty much copied 2012's Halo 4 by giving a story to the multiplayer. Basically you're a new mercenary part of a well known mercenary group where the side you're own in a match is meant to the side that offered you the most money. But like previous CoD's, matckmaking balance is completely thrown out the window which generally means is that one match you could end up on a lobby where everyone is on an equal playing field or end up in a lobby where your team or the enemy team can completely bulldoze the other which is made worse if players have higher tier versions of the game's various weapons with one map so similar to Halo that were it not for some major differences could of caused Microsoft to sue Activision for copyright infringement. Overall the multiplayer is one of the worst experiences for the entire franchise to date.

If you want to check this out, I would recommend at most renting the game for a week because it's not really worth chucking out money for a copy.

COD: IW is not a bad game, it's average. The campaign in this game is the most interesting part of this installment, it provides an alright story with plenty of missions and side-missions. The multiplayer is a carbon copy of Black Ops 3 with minor differences but no improvements (still no dedicated servers). Zombies mode feels just like it was tacked on for a cheap selling point.

However i feel this game doesn't have enough reviews from users that are worthwhile. I'm gonna start with the campaign for my review, you play as Cpt. Reyes fighting for the UNSA. The story revolves around the fight between the UNSA (United Nations Space Agency) and the SDF (Settlement Defense Front) It features combat in space rigs without a space shuttle in the vacuum of space utilizing a grapple hook and a jet pack. Space combat using a space shuttle, which is actually quite good and controls very well considering it's a part of a a Call of Duty campaign. Finally there is normal ground combat, utilizing the boosting abilities which is part of the hate for this game. The story is great, the hub is amazing and the characters are great. The multiplayer is very similar to the one in BO3, and considering the games from MW to Ghosts were similar to each other i don't see the problem in this. There are six rigs which are fun to use, and there is a health bar to really rub it in when you don't get a kill. The zombies mode is also fun, not on par with Treyarch zombies but that isn't much of a surprise. it doesn't rely heavily on a particular gimmick like Sledgehammer's Exo Zombies. There is something controversial i need to talk about. The supply drops. These in all fairness are much fairer than both AW's and BO3's systems. You get supply drop related items each day, whether it's salvage, which lets you buy weapon variants if you don't have keys to earn the guns from supply drops, keys themselves and either rare or common supply drops. Season pass owners get another daily item as well. Also zombies players get keys for their playtime which they can use to buy either supply drops or zombies crates which include fate or fortune cards. Expand

That said, I mainly played the campaign and I thought it was a lot of fun. The characters were interesting for a CoD game and the plot, while simple, gave me enough reason to be invested in the story and want to explore it some more. I certainly wouldn't mind returning to this universe in the future, but given the backlash it received I doubt we'll ever see this particular universe again.

I'll admit, the campaign was great and emotional. Infinity Ward stories are always great in the Call of Duty series. However, I don't like the fact it takes place in space and being too futuristic. Call of Duty was always about boots-to-the-ground and our love for the Futuristic Era has gone pass beyond. The multiplayers isn't my strong suit.

I'm honestly not sure why this, of all the call of duty games, gets the most hate. It's not BAD, but by no means is it great. While I didn't want another jetpacking call of duty game, this one hands down had the best movement system compared to AW and BO3. However, the multiplayer maps were quite terrible and I personally wasn't a fan of what they were going for with the zombies mode.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a mess. There is fun to be had but there it really feels like Infinity Ward really had no idea what direction they wanted to take the series in. Space battles are fun, the campaign missions are fun and the new Zombies mode is a blast, but everything else is just so mediocre that it really brings down the experience.
