    Divertidisimo, alterna varias modalidades diferentes de juego, mantiene su humor y es altamente rejugable. Lastima que no traiga subtítulos en español.

    I was very impressed by the variety of gameplay on the levels, it was interesting to play all the time, but these platforming games with requirements to complete the level in 10 seconds are already annoying.

Mención a parte para el diseño Nickelodeon de los personajes que ya indica claramente las intenciones del juego. Tampoco se han molestado en llamar a D. Wise, histórico compositor de toda la música de la saga, añadiendo en este caso música rockera random durante todo el juego con alguna reinterpretacion como la del tema principal. En definitiva no se han calentado mucho la cabeza con el juego. Una pena porque siempre ha sido una saga muy querida y de calidad.… Expand

    En lo jugable, el título hace más o menos lo que ya hacía la primera entrega de la saga. Esto es un desarrollo en fases que presentan varias mecánicas. La principal y más famosa es la de beat ‘em up clásico, pero tiene muchas más en forma de carreras de motos en las que hay que esquivar los obstáculos (mítica y difícil fase heredada del clásico), fases de shoot ‘em up de naves estilo twin stick shooter, fases de plataformas en 2d con resolución del puzzles y una colección de fases de minijuegos con QTE, rítmicos, puzzles de diversa índole, etc. en definitiva, siempre pareces estar haciendo cosas distintas. Esto puede no atraer a los fans de beat ‘em up, pero en honor a la verdad, Battletoads siempre fue un poco así, nunca fue un beat ‘em up puro.

    Por otra parte está la historia que se nos presenta como un episodio de dibujos animados que bien podría haber aparecido en Cartoon Network. No es un material que vaya a pasar a la historia, pero sirve de hilo conductor al juego y te echas alguna que otra risa con sus locuras.

    En definitiva, es un juego recomendable si eres un gamer veterano y te gustan estos lavados de cara de juegos clásicos. Battletoads cumple con lo que promete y es bastante fiel al material original. Divertido. Esta en game pass, por lo que no hay excusa para probarlo.    … Expand

    Acho que um dos maiores pecados desse jogo é focar mais na parte do Toads do que do Battle, pois o jogo tem menos fases no Estilo Beat and Up e as corridas de moto do que nos outros estilos; E se você está fazendo um jogo do Battletoads com menos Beat and Up e corridas de moto do que os minigames, os plataformers e os space shooters, significa que você está fazendo de errado sem contar queAcho que um dos maiores pecados desse jogo é focar mais na parte do Toads do que do Battle, pois o jogo tem menos fases no Estilo Beat and Up e as corridas de moto do que nos outros estilos; E se você está fazendo um jogo do Battletoads com menos Beat and Up e corridas de moto do que os minigames, os plataformers e os space shooters, significa que você está fazendo de errado sem contar que o jogo ficou bem awkward com a Dark Queen sendo uma das mochinhas para só no final se tornar do mal, e mesmo assim ela nem faz nada.

    Debo decir que el juego en gameplay es de 10 pero en historia y ejcucion es 60, en general te vas a divertir pero hay mejores exponentes del genero como street of Rage 4 o tortugas ninja. Tambien creo que el juego es muy facil si lo comparas con todas sus entregas previas.

    Sometimes, when a console is not doing great in terms of sales, most people throw s*ht to anything released on that system.

    This was the case with games like this Battletoads, which is completely enjoyable, it keeps the pace of the original IP and tons of humor. The only thing I agree, is villians suffered from its new design, some look lame.     I would give this game a 3 because it’s disappointing that there is not enough “Beat Em Up” levels. That’s what this game is and was in the past a action beat em up like streets of rage. This game literally has 4 beat em up stages and about 2 stages in the beat em up style but only boss fights. The rest is just random mini games. I won’t spoil it but one of the acts in the game that hasI would give this game a 3 because it’s disappointing that there is not enough “Beat Em Up” levels. Never seeing myself go back to this. We waited 26 years and all we got was 4 stages of beat em up action. The rest is arcade mini games. Xbox did this on purpose to **** fans up so they could be like see we gave you something. Now shut up we didn’t succeed we are never making or talking about Battletoads again. Rare is a joke they aren’t even a shell of the company they use to be. Dalalalalalalala nobody’s heard of you for a reason please remain in the shadows you clearly don’t care for gamers and butchered this game on purpose for sure to end any chance of another Battletoads ever being considered. Dotemu should have been given the keys folks. Dumb art style that looks wonky and terrible. Beat ‘em up portions are so short lived it’s sad. RIP Battletoads we as fans tried to get you back to you’re glory days of battlemaniacs and double dragon.But Xbox nor Rare care about the fans.     Whomever made this doesnt understand what battletoads is. There is hardly any first fighting toads, its mainly mini games when you get half way through. I havent had a melee fighting stage in at least a hour of gameplay. What frustrated me is some of the mini games are mind boggling boring, no fun boring waste of time. Meanwhile other minigames dare unrelentinglu difficult and fontWhomever made this doesnt understand what battletoads is.     Un gioco piacevole, da provare con un amico con più controller e il divertimento è assicurato. Scene da cartone animato satirico molto divertenti. Vari livelli con caratteristiche di giochi diversi. Consigliato per divertirsi in famiglia. Ci vorrebbero più giochi così, solo per giocare in compagnia ma senza l'online, con uno schermo solo e più controller.

    Repetitive enemies, boring levels, horrible art style, unbalanced mechanics and terrible writing made this game a pain to play. Me and my Son enjoy Coop games and most leave us thankful for the memories at least, but not Battletoads. I am so thankful to never see this game on my TV ever again. Stay clear if you have kids or else you will regret it.

Касательно Battletoads скажу наверное страшную вещь, но релиз Dlala Studios 2020 года для меня является первой в жизни игрой про уже культовых боевых жаб. Видел конечно что-то древнее мельком, но как-то так чтобы проникнуться и самому пройти до такого не дошло и вряд ли дойдет. Ну а Battletoads новомодный случился для нас с женой ради общего развития что ли и на всякий случай, а вдруг зацепит. Итак вкратце сюжет повествует нам о засидевшихся некогда героях боевых жабах Раше, Пимпле и Зитце, которые осознав, что про них все позабыли решили найти себе славных приключений на свои зеленые задницы. Мультипликация в катсценах и вообще в игре своеобразная, но приятная глазу — ставим плюсик. Играть в Battletoads можно хоть втроем на одном экране и это снова хорошо. Бои в уровнях про тот самый beat’em up веселые, красочные, но какие-то уж больно сумбурные. В пестроте красок уровней, вражеских единиц и собственно наших персонажей периодически в пылу зарубы теряешь свое текущее местоположение на экране. Каждый из трех персонажей владеет своим набором приемов, но к сожалению он у каждого достаточно скудный и по сути ограничен парой кнопок + плевки и подтягивание противника языком, которыми пользуешься весьма нечасто. Если бы вся игра была сделана в ключе боев, то наскучила очень быстро. Видимо разработчики этот момент просекли и напихали нам в Battletoads режимов игровых целую горку. Самый крутой из них, который нам с женой очень понравился это конечно же гонки на мотоциклах с видом сзади. Вот это было действительно увлекательно, забавно и при не самой простой сложности было осознание того, что нет ничего невозможного и еще немного, еще чуть-чуть и всё получится. То есть чувствовался грамотный баланс, а вот с остальными уровнями всё совсем не так гладко. К примеру локации с явным заимствованием от старенького Галаксиана делал какой-то извращенец и хейтер всего человеческого. Прошли их не без доли дичайшего везения, по-другому тут просто никак. Была даже мысль бросить к чертям этих треклятых жаб, но смогли мы всё же уже где-то грани нервного срыва прорвать этот кошмар. Уровни а-ля метроидвания показались наоборот какими-то пустынными и скучными… А вот набор мини-игр на панели управления космического корабля показался весьма необычным и занятным. Боссфайты, проходящие в режиме как раз таки beat’em up получились какие-то мягко говоря невразумительные и если бы не промежуточные чекпоинты, то это был бы очередной повод не продолжать эту весьма неоднозначную игру.… Expand

    It could not be what the fans was expecting in terms of graphical achievements, but Battletoads manages to be everything a good beat'em'up needs. Fun to play, hilarious to see and more important, a pretty smooth gameplay to enjoy.

    Super Couch-Koop-Brawler mit vielen flachen (aber geilen) Witzen. Grafik sehr schön und läuft flüssig. Zwischendrin ein paar Gameplayeigenheiten, die zwar spielerisch nicht anspruchsvoll sind, aber witzig integriert wurden. Schwierigkeitsgrad ist knackig, aber nicht unfair

Over time though it grew on me and I decided to give it a try. I got the game on day 1 and it was fine at first, nothing that blew me away, but fine. And there are WAY too many kiddy cartoon cutscenes. The lack of online cooperative play is also a big downer. If you're playing this alone, it can be a bit of a grind.     Hard game, yes. But at least the graphics give it a cool Saturday Morning Cartoon vibe from the '90s. I've heard of a pilot episode of the same title from 1992, but I haven't seen that yet. To the production companies that make cartoons, make Battletoads the Animated Series happen!

    Há um apego muito grande na nostalgia e nisso mandaram muito bem, gráficos coloridos e agradáveis, a história divertida e que proporciona vários momentos de boas risadas, o gameplay bem desafiador, um beatup aceitável, oque eu acho que pegou mal foram os diversos minigames, que depois de um tempo se tornam cansativos, mas no geral é um jogo legal.

    Я в детстве прошел все части боевых жаб! Являюсь фанатом! Разработчики Battletoads 2020 не поняли что фанатам серии уже за 30 лет!)) И детский мультяшный стиль рисовки игры это плохая идея! Фанаты плюются от такой картинки! Такое ощущение что игра для детей...а детям эти боевые жабы на хрен не нужны, у них свои герои!

    Very good game for couch co-op. A lot of fun and very diverse each level providing very challenging fun. It is difficult but at the same time rewarding. Had a lot of fun with a buddy of mine. Never played alone and dont think I would. The Only bad thing is lack of online play.

    this is my first time playing Battletoads and I played Local co-op with my wife. I don't think we've had more fun than this besides overcooked. There were so many laughs and the game was so fun to play. This is basically old school Ninja Turtles games from the SNES era and now it's in 4k. not sure what people were looking for but we came in looking for a TMNT type of game from the SNESthis is my first time playing Battletoads and I played Local co-op with my wife. I don't think we've had more fun than this besides overcooked. There were so many laughs and the game was so fun to play. This is basically old school Ninja Turtles games from the SNES era and now it's in 4k. not sure what people were looking for but we came in looking for a TMNT type of game from the SNES era. So why on earth they would take the main focus away from beat-'em-up and put it onto mobile phone game style rubbish is a mystery. If you want a true sequel to battle toads OG OG buy fighting rage.     This game is truly one of the most fun games i've ever played , it's humor is fantastic and coop is perfect , the game changes a lot and it is always a pleasent surprise.

SIgue siendo igual de entretenido y "cool" como antes; y siguen quedándote esas ganas de volver a jugarlo para terminarlo con mejores calificaciones y tiempos más cortos. Esa es precisamente la esencia de Battletoads; lo que se suma, a un excelente estilo "cartoon", que a mi parecer le queda mejor que uno más "foto realista", o animado de actuales generaciones. ¿Quizás deberían innovar generando una nueva entrega en 3D y tipo "hack and slash"?     Lo segundo es que el juego es bastante simplón, empieza como cualquiera hubiera imaginado, pegando piñas por doquier, pero luego este juego es de todo menos un Battletoads: Plataformas bastantes simplistas, carreras con obstáculos, rompecabezas (innecesarios y tediosos), matamarcianos (lo más divertido de lo no pelea) y, lo peor, un exceso de QTE (Quick Time Events) que en ningún juego dio diversión y obviamente mucho menos lo hará aquí, siendo esto lo que más me cansó (junto a los rompecabezas aburridos).
    En fin, creo que desperdiciaron una buena oportunidad de poner al juego en donde se merece. El exceso de QTE y de géneros que no caracterizan al Battletoads es de lo peor del juego, pero también su estilo visual de caricatura actual genérica y un "humor" e historia bastante soso y sin ninguna gracia.
    Hay muchos indies mejores que este supuesto AAA (o AA en su defecto) que van a dar muchísima más diversión (Castle Crashers, por ejemplo).
    En resumen: Lo mejor, la música, que si bien no es ni de cerca memorable va bien con el estilo de Battletoads. Los pocos niveles de puños y los niveles de matamarcianos. Otra cosa buena es que afortunadamente no gasté en el juego, sólo pagué Game Pass, lo jugué desde ahí y confirmé que el juego iba a ser decepcionante (como ya intuía).
    Lo peor, horrible diseño artístico, horrible decisión de poner géneros que no van con el juego con plataformas vacías y QTE excesivos, pésimo humor, sin juego en línea y duración cortísima.

    The game is simply fun. A reimagining of battle toads that sets the Toads apart in terms of personality and visual flair, and how they feel to play. Lot of complaints about the art style which is sleek and works well for the games tone. Lots of fun animations. If your biggest complaint is you're no longer attracted to the dark queen, maybe reevaluate what you want from a beat em up.

    The problem with the game is that it's mostly a beatemup which I know the original games they had SOME fighting segments, but they were limited to the first levels and boss fights. This game also has TOO MANY minigames. The minigames aren't fun and overstay their welcome and I was really annoyed by the time I was fighting the hippie death cult.

    I'm not a huge fan of the character designs. The enemies are so forgettable. What happened to General Slaughter? Robo Manus, Big Blag, Lord Karnath, Silas Volkmire, WHERE'S ANYONE!? Also, WHO thought redesigning the Dark Queen that way was a good idea? That design is proof that Rare is not Rare anymore. It's hijacked by SJWs who don't understand why Rare's games were awesome.

    On the positive side, I DID laugh at some of the jokes. Like the running gag about the Battletoads being brothers.

    Overall, this game makes me sad because I'm a huge Battletoads fan and I wanted them to make a comeback, but it really sucks and it's boring.    … Expand

    The amount of fun you can have here really depends on how you want to spend your time with Battletoads. Sure, you probably will get disappointed if you want the same amount of difficulty that was present in previous entries, but this game does not really want to be that same kind of game that it used to, and it shouldn't be treated like one just because it shares the name.

It is a good mixture of a game and a TV series with it's splendid art direction and entertaining cut scenes, and it offered me one of the best party game experiences I've ever had.
    But of course, it still has its downsides, like a lack of online multiplayer or having not too much to offer in terms of solo-play. I also wish some of the game modes weren't recycled so frequently and the humour wasn't as unbalanced as it was (though some of the scenes were truly hilarious), so let's cross fingers for improvements on those in, as they prompted, season 2 (whatever that should mean).    … Expand

There are some depth perception issues with that infamous section now taking place in the third person, but it's still far more fun than the one in the original 'Toads or Battlemaniacs. My biggest gripe is the lack of online multiplayer (for a game like this, it's a serious missed opportunity) and that there just weren't enough beat 'em up levels to run through.

    The $20 tag is steep considering the length (my first playthrough was about 4 hours and 30 minutes), but considering it's on Game Pass, it really wouldn't hurt to download and give it a spin. If you can get over the fact that the Battletoads look different and the Dark Queen is no longer a gothic take on Jessica Rabbit...you might just be surprised at how fun Battletoads 2020 is.    … Expand

    This here is a faithful reboot to one of the hardest games ever made. Battletoads has a silly amount of gameplay variety for such a short game, and the humor is there too. Too bad the gameplay itself can feel generic at best, and the art style looks like Cartoon Network vomited an 11am weekend viewing all over it. It is a decent couch co-op game at least.

    I wasn't expecting this game to be this funny. Humor is on point, gameplay is pretty good, story is simple but interesting and the characters are really charismatic. I'm someone who prefers dark and complex stories over humorous silly ones, but this was amazing.

    Самое хорошее что есть в этой игре, это музыка, все остальное не заслуживает внимания.
    На экране твориться какое-то безумие. Куча противников, все пестрое, яркое, не понять где сам игрок. После нескольких часов игры, перестаешь понимать что происходит, уровни переходят от слабого боя, к куче какой-то хрени, для игры в атоматы. То проходишь уровень для релакса жабы, который унылый как не знаю что, то начинаешь стрелять со стремного корабля в космосе. Уровни на корабле, по ремонту корабля, и выполнения всякой фигня на "олимпийских играх" делал вообще какой-то имбицил. Про ремонт корабля вообще отдельная беседа, ничего не подсвечивается, сначала делаешь ошибку, чтобы понять что крутить, потом крутишь....
    Ремейк легенды не получился от слова совсем, к покупке не советую ни кому, в черту такие перезапуски.

    It's a good time with friends and family, downside no online play as of now, not enough beat em up levels, but it makes up for it by being sometimes a short cartoon show here and there, that's actually well voice acted and funny. It's still a game and a good one at that, with good art style and animation.

    Para mim foi difícil em certas fases, mas não impossível, entretanto Battletoads é bem curto, fico ansioso para novas expansões futuramente. Muito divertido, o jogo tem seu humor. Final da fase é bem mais fácil que certas partes do jogo, isso é estranho. Jogabilidade fluida, da até uma satisfação de ver. Joguei sozinho com o controle quebrado, definitivamente não estava preparado.

    Reviewing her earlier work she realised there was a “not a lot of diversity in anything” and she needed to leave her comfort zone: “You need to push yourself because no one is going to do for you.”

    Limited design skills can also be a factor as you end up “reaffirming you own ideals by creating a default for yourself” and always creating the same body shape over and over. Once again you need to push yourself to go beyond this default.

    Finally there’s also a personal aspect in this, which seems to have been the trigger for Kyriakidou to start championing body diversity in her character design: “I realised I wasn’t even representing myself in my art and I found that very hurtful. I had internalised that what I looked like needed fixing or stylised in order for the imperfections to go away.”

    Most of the main characters from the best selling games of 2018 show the same body type
    Among her tips for artists, she advised them to challenge their own biases by making researches on body types and find resources they can work from (one of them being ‘Olympics bodies’, as photographed by Howard Schatz for his Athlete book: you can see a few of these photos on this page).

    She also advised to create moodboards “to force yourself to do some research.” She highlighted that bodies don’t necessarily look the same depending on the culture as well, saying for instance that the ‘typical’ woman in Greece doesn’t look the same than the one in the UK – and neither does her body type.

    Character redesign exercises are also good practice: “Fan art is amazing – if you take a character that already exists and recreate it you can really understand the impact of their story on their body type,” and it allows you to practice different shapes.

Only negative is that there's no online co-op as I thought this game is perfect for it. But all in all I enjoyed my time and am looking forward toMuch better than I thought it would be.     I'd probably be one of the only people who could say that one of my first video game experiences in life wasn't Space Invader, Pong, Mario, Sonic or even Crazy Taxi. One of the first games I ever played was Battletoads. My father and I would team up on the SNES in Battletoads/Double Dragon and lose. A lot. I don't think we ever saw the 4th level honestly...

    Anyways, with the above in mind I gave this Battletoads a shot (currently free with gamepass).
    Overall, mixed feelings.
    There is a difficulty setting, which is nice for those who don't want the epic challenge that the original Battletoads was. The mindless enemies in tadpole mode shouldn't cause you much trouble.
    The game play features what I feel is a "close enough" style to what it was, with the big hits and the short combos, but it doesn't feel authentic to the style of the original games. Add the tag in out system, which I'm still not sure I fully understand.. and a few eye rollingly lame cut scenes and it just kinda feels like a drag to play.
    Basically, on tadpole mode for example, you are not playing a Battletoads hard game, it feels somewhat similar but not fully, and the story is not exactly exciting or enticing. Playing on one of the harder difficulties fixes this a little, but it's still not the same.

    Overall:
    It is a decent game to play, specially free on gamepass.
    It is a Battletoads game that feels just Battletoads-like enough to say it does.
    But anyone with Battletoads experience should know it's just not the same.

    I won't waste my time telling you why. Just watch or play the last two acts and you'll understand. Not even the couch co-op could save it. Even the mini-games are dull as hell!

    Everything is either VERY unbalanced or VERY boring. PLEASE, do not waste your time in it! I BEG you!

    The game is mediocre at best. The problem is I really don’t know what's going on the screen 80% of the time. the game artistic style and color pallet just giving me the headache. It’s a just badly designed beat’em up. I don’t know what’s been happening with Rare and how the approved this.
    The voice acting is pretty good though.

    Jogo até que é bom, mas se torna cansativo, as fazes se estendem demais. O inicio é meio chato e leva umas duas horas pra emplacar. O jogo tem um excesso de animações que deixa tudo poluído e caótico na parte beat 'em up.

With the colorful and great art-style, funny humor and jokes and a lot of variety in gameplay, this game is a lot of fun to play!     In an age where couch coops have become a neglected feature, this game comes to fill in that gap. While the ability for online coop would be great, it is nice to be able to play this while hanging out with friends and fam. I enjoyed some of the different genre features, others were cumbersome.     Battletoads (2020) is a great game. I was a huge fan as a kid playing the original and at first was very unhappy about the art style. However, most of the zeroes I see are people that can not have possibly played the game. It is a fairly true sequel I mean the driving scenes are still crazy hard. All I can say is the co-op is a blast and it can get hard sometimes but the instant spawn toBattletoads (2020) is a great game.     I don't like the new art-style. Old Toads are more brutal and I like it more.
    But beat 'em up gameplay is pretty nice.

    Totally: not great not terrible.

    It's a really fun game, full of jokes and different styles of gameplay, all levels are fun and different. The bad reviews on the game are made by boomers or snowflakes not able to cope with 2020's world or the jokes in the game.

As with many Rare titles for the Xbox brand, Battletoads (2020) was met with an unfair amount of scrutiny, ridicule, and low expectations upon reveal a couple years ago. Many bemoaned the art style and the decision to make the Dark Queen a bit less "sexed up." In the end, Battletoads (2020) is actually well-written, well-animated, and is a good beat-em-up when it decides to be one. Its problems appear in its short length, bad pacing, and the shocking amount of filler content given the extended development time.

    As the pejorative term "Cal-Arts Style" continues to be rampantly misused and over applied (most 90's animators went to Cal-Arts, nostalgia junkies); the animations in Battletoads (2020) are a high point despite what people have said online. The characters are fluid, a joy to control, and this can be seen in many of the toad's battle animations. The jokes land for the most part as well despite concerns that the game would be a "no fun ultra sanitized politically correct product.". Although, they do hit you with the worst gag fairly early on, and you'll likely know what I am referring to. There is an excellent jab at those offended by the Queen's outfit change, which was refreshing. I do enjoy seeing 30 year old, entitled gamers being poked at instead of accommodated. The beat-em-up portions of the game really give the player a sense that they are playing a cartoon, and the iconic turbo bikes feel fun and improved. The issue is that most of the game isn't turbo bikes or beat-em-up fun.

    A good chunk of the game's storytelling is dedicated to the biggest toad, Pimple, running off and seeking better friends or peace, or something. So, naturally, you don't have all 3 toads for couch co-op, beat-em-up fun. Instead of just simply making the Dark Queen her own move-set for the beat-em-up style gameplay while Pimple is gone; they decided to create a few half-baked mini games. This is when this game moved from maybe the best thing I'd played in 2020 to somewhat disappointing.

    Most of the game devolves into random mini games ranging from mildly amusing to IPhone shovel ware in quality. Some of these games are simple quick time events, one off gags with no consequence you cant even lose, or much longer than you'd like them to be. One such awful, and repeating, mini game consisted of some of the most boring and simplistic 2-D platforming I've experienced. It'd have been boring for a 2-D platformer created for Postopia.com in the early 2000's as a cereal tie in. It's laughably boring when cross compared to the brilliant indie platformers out there. Many of these mini games are forgettable and crush the stellar momentum the game started with.

    The game is broken into 4 Acts with a varying number of parts. Act 1 is largely speeder bikes and brawling, but Acts 2-3 , and some of 4, are made up of these half-baked mini games. I've never been left so mixed on a game and for none of the reasons I expected to be. I am not sure what budgetary, creative, or other issues may have caused the game to not be entirely beat-em-up focused; but the final product is shocking.

    After years of development the game is very short and so little of it is what fans love about the series in terms of gameplay. I still would say that I enjoyed what was there and I encourage Dlala studios and Rare to focus up in the sequel. There is a lot to like here. It is funny, a good beat-em-up, and there is a template for future success with mildly recycled assets to reduce development time. It may be best to just can the glorified browser games.    … Expand

    Juggling genres is the series’ trademark and the latest game offers much larger variety in that aspect than any of its predecessor. Most of the genres were tackled well enough, but not all ideas are spot-on and almost every part of the game could be improved. It is the best Battletoads game to date though and it would’ve scored higher if it wasn’t for one frustrating and infuriating section towards the end of the campaign. [11/2020, p.55]
