    Whomever made this doesnt understand what battletoads is. There is hardly any first fighting toads, its mainly mini games when you get half way through. I havent had a melee fighting stage in at least a hour of gameplay. What frustrated me is some of the mini games are mind boggling boring, no fun boring waste of time. Meanwhile other minigames dare unrelentinglu difficult and fontWhomever made this doesnt understand what battletoads is.     About 4 hours from start to finish. But the Game feels rushed and under fundet.. Not even worth the download if you have gamepass.

    This game did not honor Battletoads' past: childish design, little variety of enemies, short gameplay, dull jokes, polluted display. Deveriam ter deixado o jogo em seu repouso eterno se era para fazer uma sequência tão insignificante.

Going back to it 26 years later and FINALLY beating it was a real thrill and I understood just WHY Battletoads was awesome. Going back to it 26 years later and FINALLY beating it was a real thrill and I understood just WHY Battletoads was awesome. Playing the game over and over again to see how far you can get is exciting. Battletoads 2020 is not.

    The problem with the game is that it's mostly a beatemup which I know the original games they had SOME fighting segments, but they were limited to the first levels and boss fights. This game also has TOO MANY minigames. The minigames aren't fun and overstay their welcome and I was really annoyed by the time I was fighting the hippie death cult.

    I'm not a huge fan of the character designs. The enemies are so forgettable. What happened to General Slaughter? Robo Manus, Big Blag, Lord Karnath, Silas Volkmire, WHERE'S ANYONE!? Also, WHO thought redesigning the Dark Queen that way was a good idea? That design is proof that Rare is not Rare anymore. It's hijacked by SJWs who don't understand why Rare's games were awesome.

    On the positive side, I DID laugh at some of the jokes. Like the running gag about the Battletoads being brothers.

    Overall, this game makes me sad because I'm a huge Battletoads fan and I wanted them to make a comeback, but it really sucks and it's boring.    … Expand

    Repetitive enemies, boring levels, horrible art style, unbalanced mechanics and terrible writing made this game a pain to play. Me and my Son enjoy Coop games and most leave us thankful for the memories at least, but not Battletoads. I am so thankful to never see this game on my TV ever again. Stay clear if you have kids or else you will regret it.

    you got way better beatmups these days.streets of rage is better.mother russia bleeds is still superb.
    what a disgrace to the franchise and it shows that rare is just a weak shadow of formet self.

    First half of this game is a Beat 'Em Up with some QTEs & hacking mini games. Second half of the game is fighting with itself on if it wants to be a platformer, a QTE mini game, a twin stick shooter... it is a hodgepodge. Game has no idea what it wants to be.

    The humor is silly. If you like Borderlands then this fits in. Cutscenes feel very... Teen Titans Go inspired. Story feels so... Not to mention there is one line in the game that clearly 'slays the patriarchy' with the Queen talking nonsense about male privilege.

    This game just feels like Rare has no idea how to execute ideas. It also overall just feels lazy and/or done by a very tiny portion of their talent.    … Expand

    Dissapointing. The artstyle is terrible and doesn't resemble the original Battletoads. It reminds me of an early 00's flash game. The story is boring and the voiceacting is cringey. Not a worthy successor.

    the cartoonish graphics and soundtracks are fine and mini-games are fun but unfortunately, it has 2 big problems. (I recommend developers make a tv series instead of video games)
    cons:
    1- It is too short ( I finished the game under 4 hours on Toad difficulty)
    2- no online co_op !!

    Didn't they announced this 2 years ago... so, why did we get this game. No online co-op in the middle of the pandemic, great decision. When you manage to get someone to play with in your house, there is no hitting each others... which was about 60% of the fun from the og.     this game is a complete meh, the art style and animations are fine, the beat em up sections and the bike are okay (not excellent, just okay), but the rest is between mediocre and bad, this game has a little of all, but does nothing particularly well, there's too many mini-games than are simply bad or meh that ruin the game and pacing of this one, and the humor is also bad.

    If this game came out 15 years ago I would say it's great but it's 2020... not too many bugs so that's a plus but come on Rare. Where has the magic gone?

    Destruíram a franquia Battletoads, joguinho de celular que não tem nada de nostálgico. Uma pena, gráficos abaixo do esperado, puzzles idiotas, e missões que parecem com joguinho de atari. História idiota, jogo curto demais. Mais uma vez a Microsoft decepcionando. Só não dou zero por pena.

    This game is a game for kids that almost no one would have played if it wasn't at Gamepass. If you loved the original Battletoads, skip this because the spirit is not there. It's for kids, and it's short. And the art style is awful except for kids.

    El diseño en killer instinc es lo que esperábamos todos los jugadores para una consola xbox one que recuperaba una saga de la vieja escuela.

Necesitamos un scalebound o un nimja gsiden un lost planet para sentir que podemos gastar un dinero en una maquina de 12 teraflops. De lo contrario Mi camino acaba en xbox one con las consolas de micro.

Lo mejor del juego es que bebe de Street of Rage y del estilo animado y hunorístico tipo Cartoon Network, hasta aquí lo bueno de mi review, el juego es extremadamente corto (en menos de 3 horas lo terminas), no tiene coop online, y se hace tremendamente repetitivo..... no era el regreso de la saga que se esperaba… Expand

    I would give this game a 3 because it’s disappointing that there is not enough “Beat Em Up” levels. That’s what this game is and was in the past a action beat em up like streets of rage. This game literally has 4 beat em up stages and about 2 stages in the beat em up style but only boss fights. The rest is just random mini games. I won’t spoil it but one of the acts in the game that hasI would give this game a 3 because it’s disappointing that there is not enough “Beat Em Up” levels. Xbox did this on purpose to **** fans up so they could be like see we gave you something. Now shut up we didn’t succeed we are never making or talking about Battletoads again. Rare is a joke they aren’t even a shell of the company they use to be. Dalalalalalalala nobody’s heard of you for a reason please remain in the shadows you clearly don’t care for gamers and butchered this game on purpose for sure to end any chance of another Battletoads ever being considered. Dotemu should have been given the keys folks. Dumb art style that looks wonky and terrible. Beat ‘em up portions are so short lived it’s sad. RIP Battletoads we as fans tried to get you back to you’re glory days of battlemaniacs and double dragon.But Xbox nor Rare care about the fans.     For players unfamiliar with the original: 9/10 is a good game.
    For players who played at least one of the original games - 4/10. The main complaint is a terrible visual style(good for children under 5 years old), reworked characters (the Dark Queen has become just disgusting), ugly levels.
    "Thanks" to Rare for spitting into my soul.

    This game is absolutely atrocious!
    I won't waste my time telling you why. Just watch or play the last two acts and you'll understand. Not even the couch co-op could save it. Even the mini-games are dull as hell!

    Everything is either VERY unbalanced or VERY boring. PLEASE, do not waste your time in it! I BEG you!

    Juggling genres is the series’ trademark and the latest game offers much larger variety in that aspect than any of its predecessor. Most of the genres were tackled well enough, but not all ideas are spot-on and almost every part of the game could be improved. It is the best Battletoads game to date though and it would’ve scored higher if it wasn’t for one frustrating and infuriating section towards the end of the campaign. [11/2020, p.55]
