Although the games have aged well and look fantastic, the frame rate (At least in the Xbox One version) is still pretty sub-par. The two games still hold up well and I strongly recommend anyone who hasn't played them to pick them up. For those who have played the games in the past, there's no real reason to purchase them again unless you are an avid of the series.

Regarding the quality of arkham asylum and arkham city, they're almost flawless games, definite classics. Unfortunately, this remaster is somewhat underwhelming. These graphics are gorgeous! There's still some signs that the games are old (especially Arkham Asylum with the character models when they talk), but MAN the environments are STUNNING! The only reason it didn't get a flat out 10 for me is there is a bit of stutter and framerate drop that I've noticed so far. Otherwise, you've made my dreams come true! The frame rate is super distracting (sub 30fps) and stutters all the time these are great games but these remasters are very disappointing I would have preferred a straight port at 60fps or backwards compatibility

I've been playing games for over 25 years. I've never had a game where every time I play it I get a headache until now.

Asylum is the worst. Going in & out of detective mode gives you a very bright white flash. It was never this bright in the original. I have to close my eyes every time I turn detective mode on or off because it's so bad.

Arkham City is better, but it still hurts my head to look at. The bloom on neon signs & fire effects is set so high that having them on screen gives me eye pain.

Both games suffer from severe lighting/shading problems that just hurt my eyes to look at. I dunno why it causes me eye pain & head aches but they just do. I can still play the originals on PC with no problems or the 360 versions which I own as well, but playing these remasters is like looking at the sun during a solar eclipse. It's beautiful but keep staring & you'll go blind.

These are good games, no question about that.
But technically this is a very disappointing remaster. Arkham Asylum especially stutters a lot and framerate is not a stable 30 fps. Would stay away until this is patched.

One of the best Batman video games. This is a compilation of the first two trilogies. Better than Nolan's movies

I have been playing through Arkham Asylum the past few nights and I have experienced a few glitches. The first glitch I got stuck on the floor and could not walk away no matter what I did. Had to restart the level. The second glitch was looking for the doctors. The level would not continue on and the game went to the search mode for Gordon. Luckily I was able to enter a door and return to the glitched room which was now working. I'm sure there will be a future patch to correct these minor glitches.

"Return" is a good, but not great remastered set that is more for newbies than fans. Both "Asylum" and "City" are classics that hold up exceptionally well. But neither one runs on 60 FPS nor do they include any new feature. However, all the DLC is here. As far as the visual upgrade is concerned, it's a solid job. However, the brighter look produced by the Unreal Engine 4 takes away some of the dark, moody atmosphere of the originals. Like the movie Justice League, where the Flash asks Bruce Wayne about his super power. His reply? "I'm rich". That's how this game feels for me. Batman is a wimp, that needs to hit regular thugs way to many times to defeat them. Apparently the first 3 strikes he hits like a girl. The combat system sucks, it's based on initiate and counter, but the timing is completely off. In Shadow ofLike the movie Justice League, where the Flash asks Bruce Wayne about his super power. The combat system sucks, it's based on initiate and counter, but the timing is completely off. In Shadow of Mordor, counter cancels attack. Here it doesn't. You will NEED TO LEARN the flow of combat, or you're dead. No button mashing. Since a lot of enemies have weapons, even fire arms, you need to stealth a lot. I never saw gun toting enemies in the '60's/70's series, but maybe Rocksteady thought "let's make everything a challenge". Now you need to take out enemies one by one in a slow manner. Action-adventure, uh huh. Needless to say i didn't like the games, nor did i finish them. Forced stealth, damage sponge enemies, frustrating gadget puzzles and unrewarding upgrades just aren't my idea of fun. Even on easy the game wants me to LEARN how to master the fighting/combo system. I don't want that. I want to have fun, not learn how to time punches, combo's and counters. Using a remote batarang to hit a switch is almost as fun as banging your head against a wall. Trial and error gameplay. Yes sir! Why not make it an automated target finder? No, everything needs to be a challenge, so we can reward you with..more busywork. Oh yeah, and maybe a 10GP achievement. Ain't that great? Rocksteady, go s@#k yourselves! Expand

The game is a simple remaster of the original. The graphics are not quite update. The gameplay is still crisp and fun. The combat remains simple to pick up but hard to master, which is good. The Riddler returns with his collectathon of riddles and mysteries.

This Arkham bundle gives any Xbox owner a great deal for his/her money. It is definitely one of the best superhero games ever made. Arkham City is by far a better game than Asylum but even so both give a great storyline and a classic gameplay characteristic of our Cape Crusader.

Arkham City is the better of the two games on offer here, but both games are wonderful to play-through for nostalgic reasons. However, if you’ve never played either of them before, you owe it to yourself to do so now.

The chuggy frame rate (particularly in in Arkham Asylum) is disappointing but it won’t ruin your enjoyment of either game.
