More than just another anime game, Omega Force has delivered an exciting action experience with a unique movement system. One that, while not as smooth, is comparable to that of the open-world Spider-Man 2 game that was so well-loved during the PS2 era. One that, while not as smooth, is comparable to that of the open-world Spider-Man 2 game that was so well-loved during the PS2 era. While there's plenty of fan-service, the core gameplay experience is enjoyable enough to make worth a look for those who aren't familiar with the source material.

There is a lot of content here. Once you're completed with the main story that covers the first season of the anime, there is plenty of side content to keep you coming back. Completing requests for other characters, online multiplayer, and a series of well-made and challenging side-missions that once completed open up a game-exclusive epilogue chapter. There's even a new game plus option that opens up after the epilogue chapter that's much harder.

There is a slight problem that comes with this though. Once you really start to dive into the game you'll notice that it's quite repetitive. You are essentially just doing the same things over and over again. While the fan favorite characters are going to make that a little easier for fans of the show to deal with, those just being introduced to the world of Attack on Titan might find this less forgivable. Still, the thrill of flying through the air across maps and lassoing and decapitating titans in midair should still be enough to carry them through until the credits roll.

Of course there's also the chance that the game's deceptively deep nature might pull people in as well. Maxing out characters and gear is a fun distraction. One that opens up a lot of other content in the game's galleries. You collect necessary materials by performing well in the levels and by lobbing off certain titan parts. There's also a nice risk/reward element to the latter. Is it worth putting yourself in extra danger just to get that potentially rare item during a boss fight when you can just attack the weak point and end things? It's up to you to decide.

Outside of the repetition the only other complaint I have with the game is how it tells the story. It follows the battles of the series well, but misses out on the character moments and other stuff that really makes the conflict compelling. An understandable move, but newcomers are likely to see they aren't being told everything and quickly lose interesting in what's happening in the cutscenes.

At the end of the day though it's flaws are minor in comparison to everything it gets right. It's a great action game, provides plenty to entice fans, and shows what it actually feels like to go toe-to-toe with a titan. It's essentially everything a fan of the anime/manga could want from an Attack on Titan game. For everyone else, as long as you're willing to put up with some repetition there's a great combat system here for you as well.

There is enjoyment to be found in this game but it is a very repetitive game with repeated sections, it's just a "go here and kill this enemy" type game. There are sum pluses I can give it like Mikasa is still as badass as ever, the slinging is super fun for the most part and the first few hours of the game were exciting and tons of fun but the game head on was just rince and repeat of theThere is enjoyment to be found in this game but it is a very repetitive game with repeated sections, it's just a "go here and kill this enemy" type game. This game is loads of fun. It runs great on the Xbox One and stays true to the anime. Spider-man on steroids is how I would describe it. No dub is disappointing, but beggars can't be choosers. This game is well worth your time and money!

A unique genre entry that takes the combat the Musou series is known for and scales the size of enemies rather than the number of them on the battlefield.

A great adaptation from anime to video game that added a lot of fun and enjoyable experiences. The biggest downfall is the repetitive levels that you just push through to get them done and over with, which is sad because they could have done a whole lot more to add layers to the gameplay.

A familiar feeling, incredibly addictive, accurate depiction of an anime that took the world by storm.
