    As far back as we can remember, video games primarily utilized three senses: visual, auditory and tactile. As innovations continue to push the limit, so goes the number of senses we can activate in a virtual world. There was also a dimension this collection brought back to me and that was the smell of a freshly unwrapped game cart as we tore it open the 1st time to play or the smell of the old arcades we use to adore so much. So my review for this 3rd and chunkiest collection of Atari classics to date will be about what it offers for what it is, retro greatness. So instead of critiquing each game for how good or great it was many years ago, I’ll simply say this. The presentation of the game is clean, and you’ll love the retro feel. If you aren’t a retro gamer there’s nothing here to change your mind, if you are a retro-head like myself dive in! The price of admission is less than a couple hours in an 80’s arcade (if you were good), and there’s so many games you should remember if you played as many games as I have since the days of Pong. I would love to see more collections of this nature especially a fully loaded coin-op collection from Atari, all in one complete bundle. I’d pay AAA retail price for a robust collection of Atari’s finest and complete collection of all their arcade greats. While I’m not sure what licensing would be involved this would be a dream come true to me personally (other arcade powerhouses take note). So take other reviews with a grain of salt. All 3 of Atari’s collections released to date on the Xbox Vol 1, 2, and 3 are all worth the price of admission. Any effort put on the market to help me bring back the lost gaming of yesteryear and childhood nostalgia are always worth a purchase to me. So yes 2 thumbs up and keep doing great things and a special thanks for those of us that grew up with video games and made them all what they are today. Two Massive thumbs up!… Expand

    If you take Atari Flashback Classics – Volume 3 for what it is at face value, a trip down memory lane of a time when gaming was in its' infancy, and you keep your expectations in check, you may enjoy this collection of games, especially if you're an Atari fan and/or played the Atari consoles so long ago. While I’d argue the $20 (CAD) price point is a little high, even factoring in that it’s 50 games, it’s a decent collection if you want to feel some nostalgia and see what gaming was like back in "the day".

    £15.99 is a reasonable price to expect to pay if you fancy a trip down memory lane or aspire to own every Atari title ever made. There’s enough here to please those who enjoy a bit of retro gaming, but if you don’t, move along as there’s nothing to see here.

    The Atari Flashback Classics Volume 3 is certainly a worthy choice if you’re looking for a true nostalgic hit. There’s a wide selection of retro titles on offer here, with online and leaderboard support added for heightened value and extra longevity. With that in mind, this is a bundle of fifty massively dated games that, by current standards, handle pretty poorly for the most part. This will likely only appeal to a specific crowd.
