This is another game that people seem to over look just because its not a triple A title. Don't let the critics turn you away. Its a very interesting game with a ton of replay value. Also some of the sound design for the attacks are a little weird. Other than that, this game is a gem and with it only being 20$ its a definite must have. Expand

It was a refreshing and incredible adventure, the best indie game I have played in a lot of time. 5 finals, a lot of secrets, incredible ost, playability...

    Anima Gate of Memory

The good: a 3D slash hack with an interesting story, a nameless one tied to a demon, you can change from one to another at any time. The game has tree character character customization, RPG touches, the control is very responsive, there are fights with memorable bosses (because they are defeated in different ways), it has 5 different endings, lighting details.

The bad: The story is slow, the clichés are in every moment, the bad jokes are very bad, some bosses are super broken, some textures are badly vectorized, some models seem very simple. You only reach level 20

Lo Meh: If you are one of those who advance without reading the plot, you will miss out. Abuse of the cliché of "not everything is what it seems". The achievements are complicated (not impossible) because they are things you do in the game and linked to the final 5 so make sure you keep a copy of the game. It has its own "WannaBe BotW" although this game is from 2016. The game was so loved that the expansion of the story became a "complete" game called "The Chronicles of the Nameless"

Budget game I hate the graphics and the budget fighting style looks like straight out of a indie game made with unity

As an overall package it has a solid foundation of gameplay mechanics that should keep you entertained for a while. If you love RPG’s with a mix of hack and slash combat, then give Anima: Gate of Memories a look and join The Bearer and Ergo as they fight back the darkness.

There are a number of very compelling elements that really solidify Anima as a title that had an ambitious vision and a team dedicated to making it a reality. At the same time, they also sought to take elements from other successful games. This amounts to an inferior gameplay experience, but one that is also surrounded by the strength of its original elements.

Whilst Anima isn't perfect, it is a huge, honest and generally very good game that should appeal to fans of third-person action games.
