    Anima Gate of Memories was one of the most surprising game’s back in 2016 for me because I must admit I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but as far as action RPG’s go it was a very good addition to the genre. As you can imagine then I was really looking forward to the sequel which is called Anima Gate of Memories – The Nameless Chronicles and thankfully as far as sequels go thisAnima Gate of Memories was one of the most surprising game’s back in 2016 for me because I must admit I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but as far as action RPG’s go it was a very good addition to the genre. As you can imagine then I was really looking forward to the sequel which is called Anima Gate of Memories – The Nameless Chronicles and thankfully as far as sequels go this game is very good and it delivered to me just as much enjoyment as the first game did and in some ways it improved over the original game. Once again the combat that’s present in the game is flawless and performing special moves and combos feels satisfying at all times. Thankfully you can perform these moves on a lot of different enemies and each enemy has had a lot of thought and effort placed into them which in turn keeps things fresh and interesting for longer. Whilst I enjoyed fighting all the different enemies in the game without a doubt my favourite enemies were the bosses because competing against them felt exciting and rewarding at all times. The gameplay on the whole is pretty rewarding as well but it will take some time to get used to because the game doesn’t offer anything in the way of a tutorial which does cause you to experience some problems at the start. These problems though subside pretty quickly and you soon forget about them thanks to the excellent level design. Each level present in the game is pretty big and exploring them is always a worthwhile experience and this is very important because you’re required to backtrack quite a lot. In fact there is a little too much backtracking present in the game in my opinion and this can make things become a little tedious every now and then. I will say though that I don’t think the backtracking would’ve been too much of a problem if it wasn’t for the loading screens. There are a huge amount of loading screens to get through and some can take a while to get through, which can harm the immersion levels somewhat. Thankfully though the presentation side of the game brings these immersion levels back up considerably. Visually the game has a great cel-shaded style to it and the sound design not only makes things more enjoyable but it also brings the game’s story to life in all areas, which is great. At the end of the day if you enjoyed the first game then you will thoroughly enjoy this new addition to the series. It’s took what was good from the first game and in some ways improved certain aspects which means that Anima Gate of Memories – The Nameless Chronicles is everything you would want when it comes to a sequel and it gets a thumbs up from me.… Expand

    The game are a Hack’n Slash 2D and 3D. In this game where you control The Nameless (Apparently villain in Anima: Gate of Memories) and see her perception of her own history and the events of Anima: Gate of Memories. A lot of surprises. New enemies. Nameless is ridiculously powerful and you can show off your skills if you know how to handle it correctly (real power fantasy). The    The good:
    The game are a Hack’n Slash 2D and 3D. The least thought of enemies are on the other side of the map. They improved the textures of the backgrounds, trees, wallpapers, rocks

    The bad:
    Erratic difficulty not very difficult and sometimes very easy. If you do not want to miss many references, know the history, expand the Anima Project story, you must play Anima: Gate of Memories first. It feels less documented than Gate of Memories (both Nascal and Rametek only have four chunks of history). The few twists in the story somewhat contradict what was seen in Gate of Memories. Thanatos's hand breaks the difficulty of the game. All game art is recycled from the previous game. Improving textures causes changes to scenery to increase loading times. You can only go up to level 16.

    Meh !:
    This game well feels more like an Anima: Gate of Memories DLC than a standalone game. Anima Project fans asked to play as Nameless and see how cool he seems to be but how he carried his own story. It feels more of a recycle so one might expect a different story or events outside or prior to Gate of Memories.    … Expand

    Anima: Gate of Memories – The Nameless Chronicles is very much a game of two halves. A vibrant world, massive back story and compelling narrative are counterpointed by a bad camera, unsatisfying combat and too little guidance as to what to do next.

    At times The Nameless Chronicles plays with perspective and camera angles to really great effect. This is something Nier did extremely well, and I have to say there are moments in The Nameless Chronicles I think emulates that aesthetic very well. Like the previous Anima title, I think this will go under most people’s radar which is a shame.

    If you’re a fan of the lore and Anima series, then The Nameless Chronicles is a no-brainer and an easy sell. If you’re looking for challenging combat with some RPG elements, you could do worse. It has a very interesting story if you can follow along, more-so if you’ve played the first, but is simply bogged down by its constant and repetitive combat that does little to excite.
