When played with friends the game does offer you some fun and enjoyable moments and I loved the amount importance that’s gone into communication. There are a few interesting and unique mechanics present in the gameplay and this definitely makes the game stand out from others in the genre which I found to be refreshing. Unfortunately the game suffers with a few technical issues and this does impact on your overall experience, which in time I am confident will be addressed. In terms of content there isn’t a great deal for you to sink your teeth into and more content definitely needs to be added to keep you coming back for more, as with most games of this genre. It can become repetitive and even though there are unique aspects present in the gameplay you’ve basically seen them all after only a few games, friends playing along either made or broke my experience with Aftercharge. Getting into games with real players isn’t very easy and it tends to take a while before you see a real player which can be tedious and at times frustrating. After playing the Beta it became clear that Aftercharge can be fun in short bursts it just didn’t have enough depth to it and I was hoping that the game would release with more content on launch day. Unfortunately in terms of content the game doesn’t have much more included in the full release and this will without a doubt stop people from returning back to the game time and time again, unless we see continuous support launched. Another thing that may stop people from returning back to the game is by how repetitive the gameplay gets and this repetitiveness happens almost too quickly. This is a shame because Aftercharge has quite a few unique elements included in its gameplay and it does stand out from others in the genre but for me there just wasn’t enough of a pull to keep drawing me back in. The draw of the game is further dwindled by the technical issues that are present which do cause you to become frustrated quite quickly and not being able to find real players isn’t easy either. This is a shame as well because when I did finally get to play with friends I had a very enjoyable time to say the least. At the end of the day then as it stands at the moment I can still give Aftercharge a recommendation, with the hope they sort out the current problems because they have got an interesting and unique core idea, it just needs quite a bit of work on it. You may or may not love it but the price of admission is worth it in the end. Expand

Very interesting and very unique take on FPS. On one side you are invisible , on other side invincible. Sounds weird said like that but it turns out it works. Lot of fun. From what i can tell both sides are evenly balanced.
The competitive game mode is not up yet wich is a bit of a disappointement for me. Besides that i can't say anything wrong.
Gameplay is intense, tactical and fast paced.

Definitely has potential to be fun...clean graphics and smooth gameplay. Unique take on team based class shooter, but the game launched without competitive multiplayer? The bots are not a challenge to defeat, especially if you team up with friends. This game would definitely be worth a look once MP launches, but I would recommend waiting for that to happen.

If you’re looking for a competitive game with some truly unique ideas and interesting mechanics, Aftercharge has you covered if you’re wanting something new, it’s just hard to recommended in its current state knowing that you’ll mostly likely sit queuing for a match longer than it actually takes to play one. With a deep discount and a much bigger install base, Aftercharge could really be something unique and interesting to play, but that’s a steep mountain that’ll need to be climbed before it gets there, which is a shame, as the game has a huge amount of potential.

Aftercharge offers us a fresh and original asymmetric multiplayer experience, with an entertaining gameplay. Too bad for its lack of variety, though: one mode and two small maps are a bit too little to keep people interested, so we can only hope in a good influx of post-launch content.

Aftercharge truly has the potential to be “the next big thing”, with all fundamentals of what makes a shooter great, but in its early days its clear there is still polish that could done to the overall experience.
