    I really enjoyed the presentation side of the game because both the visuals and sound design feel unique and this does make the game stand out quite a bit. You can tell that a lot of thought has been placed into the puzzles that are present in the game and this thought means completing the puzzles felt rewarding. Without a doubt this game is best played in co-op and when played this way you and your friend definitely get quite a few fun and enjoyable moments. While the story doesn’t have a huge amount of depth to it I actually found what was here to be enjoyable and the humor is truly entertaining. I found when playing the game on my own that I did become pretty frustrated with the difficulty so the gameplay wasn’t as fun because of this. While there is a local co-op offering there isn’t any online modes which disappointed me a little, since couch co-op isn't overly common these days. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a huge amount for you and it can be completed in a couple of hours. 39 Days to Mars is one of them rare games that lets you complete the whole game with a friend and this does make the game stand out quite considerably when it comes to the puzzle genre. Another aspect of the game that makes it stand out is its presentation because for me both the visuals and sound design are unique to the core and deliver fun and enjoyment in several areas. As I said earlier this game is meant to be played in local co-op but you can also play it on your own. I will say though that if you play it on your own it’s nowhere near as fun and it’s a lot more frustrating due to the difficulty. Thankfully though the puzzles didn’t frustrate me much at all and I must admit that I was impressed with how creative and clever some of them were and without a doubt completing each puzzle felt rewarding because of this. This is a good thing as well because there isn’t much in terms of content so it was very important to make the content that is avaliable to you interesting, which thankfully they do. At the end of the day then whilst 39 Days to Mars doesn’t get everything right it does manage to get the most important aspects right and if you’re a fan of local co-op puzzle games then you can do much worse than this game. It's just a bit on the short side.… Expand

    With unique and tricky puzzles, 39 Days to Mars will feel right at home in any puzzle fan's game collection. The simplistic art style allows the puzzles to remain the focus of the experience. The choice of solo or co-op mode is ideal but the controls are slightly awkward, making things a little off-putting in both modes. While not perfect, 39 Days to Mars is a great time filler when you and a friend want to put your brains to the test for a few hours.

    It’s a shame there’s no online co-op, as a friend and I would be all over this if that was possible. While you are fully capable of playing solo, I don’t recommend it in any way if you don’t have a partner, as this journey to Mars really should be taken with a good friend that you have no problem swearing at when he screws up making a proper scone for the twentieth time.

    If you're looking for a game to play at home with loved ones in a unique setting populated by two charming Englishmen protagonists, 39 Days to Mars is definitely the right choice for you.
