There’s a lot of thought and effort that has gone into both the visuals and sound and this without a doubt makes the game stand out quite considerably. There isn’t a lot of depth when it comes to the gameplay I still enjoyed what they did here because it made you become even more attached to the story. Everything about the game has meaning and there’s a great deal of uniqueness as well which makes you sit up and take note at all times. Technically the game held up really well throughout my time with the game and there were very few problems if any at all. The game is a little on the short side because even though the content that is present packs a punch a little more would’ve been nice. There are far too many collectibles you have to obtain and them all does make you a little frustrated. The first world war changed the world in so many ways and I’m very thankful for what them brave people did for each and everyone of us because without them we wouldn’t be able to live the way we do now. As you can imagine then 11-11: Memories Retold got my attention immediately and after completing the game it became quite clear that they’ve done a wonderful job with such an emotional subject. Emotional is definitely a key word throughout this game and to say the story gripped me from start to finish would be a massive understatement. Every bit of the game’s content has had a lot of thought and effort placed into it and whilst the gameplay doesn’t have much depth to it and the game is indeed a little on the short side this still didn’t stop the game from making a very significant impact. At the end of the day then I can’t recommend 11-11: Memories Retold enough because from the visuals to the absolutely brilliant sound design everything has pretty much been done to perfection and in the end this is a game that will stay with you long after completion giving you very important facts about some of the things that happened during the first world war along the way. Great game with beautiful aesthetics (employing impressionist art style). The strong narrative makes this game an appropriate journey back to WW1 , with the main focus centered on the humanity of the protagonists in the midst of war.

In terms of gameplay, it is simplistic and pretty linear , with some fetch quests and puzzles. But again, the gameplay is not the selling point of the game. Rather, it is the narrative, and given that this was so beautifully presented , it was really an appropriate tribute for Remembrance Day .

Controls were easy and game was easy to manoeuvre with the controller. Minor bugs were detected, but nothing that detracted from the gameplay.

A good balance to all the WW1 games where violence is the main gameplay loop.

11-11: Memories Retold tells a beautiful story with multiple endings and is a must-play for anyone that loves a story-based game. The story might be a short one but it holds some amazing voice-acting. It's a shame the style doesn't quite work though.

Memories Retold is a memorable and engaging adventure that needed to be made. However, like a history lesson you half paid attention to, that doesn’t necessarily mean it was enjoyable to play. Ultimately, it's good enough to slog through, but that may not be the case for everyone.

11-11: Memories Retold, however, is still a game worth more than a look-in, and at roughly five-to-six hours, you’ll gain a deep and respectful look at one of the world’s most jarring global conflicts, from the perspectives of the individual.
