The combat system of the game consists of many different weapons, abilities and magic spells, which really make the combats of the game challenging and attractive.
What is a bit interesting is the technical problems and artificial intelligence of the game, which do not hinder the progress of the player in the game at all Skyrim, with its very beautiful and unique design of the main and secondary factions, characters, spells and abilities, its vast and attractive combat system, its wonderful map design, and of course its music, Skyrim does something that has been in my mind for many years. to remain a player and turn himself into an eternal work

Skyrim is to this date a nearly perfect RPG experience. Even after 6 playthroughs, nothing beats the atmosphere, the soundtrack and this warm feeling like arriving home. Everybody should have played this game at least once! I played the Legendary Edition with all the DLCs - which are great. Overall rating: 9.4.

The fifth Elder Scrolls game has more impressive visuals, slicker combat and a more user friendly menu system than the previous game as well as creating an absorbing and believable world to explore and interact with. Not quite as good as the Mass Effect games, but a worthy runner up.

Even without the DLCs, this game got me playing it for days and days in a feral way, it's just an amazing game that can't be explained and must be played before talking about it, the bad thing about it it's dealing with the joypad for a game that looks so much like it was born for a PC

Skyrim is a big mess of a game. On the one hand, Bethesda's game design sucks. The combat is really bad. RPG choice making is borderline nonexistent. Character progression has been excessively streamlined. Level scaling makes it feel like you arent getting stronger. There is an over abundance of loot. There are tons of immersion breaking things happening in the world.

On the other hand, content is king. Skyrim has a ton of content. Not all of it is great, most of it isnt even good. But there's quite a lot, dozens of hours worth, of great content. So I have to give it props for that.

But to get to that content you have to slog through some horrific gameplay. And its not like the main story saves that. Mods, do, however, save this game and can make it an 8/10 game. But vanilla is a 5 at best.

When I first played it as a very young kid, it absolutely blew me away, my experience with the game was unreal, everything about it was out of this world. One of the most gorgeous and breathtaking worlds in a videogame, and to this day it still manages to surprise me.

I love the Scandinavian Medieval setting, with the dragons and the diverse amount of creatures and people, it's a huge game where you create your own story.

The gameplay is mostly basic with a decent variety of weapons and spells, nothing groundbreaking but it serves its purpose. Where the game feels outdated and tedious is the dungeon design, most dungeons look the same and some puzzles can be frustrating, that being said this doesn't necessarily ruin the experience.

The scenery, the music, the aurora borealis... it's very nostalgic and makes me teary-eyed, I mourn the days when I didn't know anything about this game, and I wish I could experience it for the first time again.
    A Timeless Masterpiece.

    Final Rating: "Masterpiece" ~ 10/10.

Expand

Skyrim is easily one of, if not my favorite game of all time, I love the universe created here, the immersion provided by this game was unbelievable, I had never experienced anything like this (at the time I played it I was 13 and I remember asking "is Bethesda famous?" little did I know what was to come lol) and i got addicted to it for several months (to this day I still play from time to time).

    Positive Points:

Main Quest (people often complain that the main quest is weak but I still don't understand why, for me the story of Dovahkiin is quite interesting and my only criticism of the campaign is maybe its duration, but I always mix main quest with side quests, and exploration and that ends up making me immersed in the universe in such a way that I just don't realize it's short)

Freedom (Honestly? is one of the best points of this game, you can just skip the main quest and still have several stories and adventures to try out, you can skip all the quests and still have immense fun exploring this game, you can being a werewolf, vampire, wizard, warrior, archer, the freedom provided here is surreal)

Immersion (If you stop to experience the universe created here, you will have one of the best experiences ever in a game, you open a book and suddenly a sidequest starts, in it you meet a ghost, discover a forge made by a lost civilization and the story unfolds, maybe you are just walking and you find a house in the forest, there you discover a place of "appreciation" of a different skooma, you use it and end up trapped by vampires)

Universe creation (You can spend hours and hours just reading books, uncovering several stories that took place before Skyrim's timeline or even current issues in the game, it's really fascinating)

Soundtrack (It's just fabulous, the background songs, the battle songs, the tavern songs (highlight for , the song The Dragonborn Comes), the music played in Sovngarde, are all just amazing)

Gameplay (another point that people often complain about but I particularly find the gameplay satisfactory, I played most of mine as a wizard so ...)

Atmosphere (I love the Nordic theme so I don't need to say anything else lol)

    Negative points:

Be the leader of everything (In all faction quests you will end up as the leader or top figure within that faction, it bothers me a lot because in my view it doesn't make sense to be archmage of Winterwold school and leader of thieves guild. To buy houses you need to become thane and ends up becoming thane of all cities which again doesn't make sense and the same can be said of becoming champion of all daedras at the same time)

Companions (Most of them have no personality and end up serving only as cargo, I like Lydia, Brelyna but this is more due to my immersion in the game than character development)

    Repetition of voice actors

Anyway, it's a fantastic game and it was with it that I had my first experience with RPGS making me love this style of game. I would say that Skyrim is a must for everyone who likes video games.

"It's too complicated, I don't understand it" is a phrase a lot of more casual players say about RPGs because for years it felt like all developers for these games did was try to make it more difficult to understand and play through. Skyrim is the solution to that issue. It is easy to understand while also giving you the freedom to create whatever you want. Do you want to be the most powerful mage in all of Skyrim? You can do that. Do you want to be a simple saw mill worker who chops wood all day to make a living? You can do that too. Gone are the days where you play an RPG and hope that you made the right selections to make your character exactly how you wanted. In Skyrim you know what every perk does because it says it clearly so you know exactly what you're getting. On top of this you also have so many great quest lines you can complete no matter what kind of character you choose to be. Now I'm not saying every storyline is completely perfect much like some of the glitches found in the game they're still entertaining. I've played Skyrim for thousands of hours and made hundreds of characters and I still go back to it every now and again because it really is that good. Despite everything that people who hate the game say about how it "is too glitchy" or that it "is not a real RPG" I still find it to be one of the best games of all time. Expand

I think this game is overrated to be honest. It's fine, but after a while combat gets boring and its just who has better numbers and how many pieces of cheese do you have. Some quests are pretty interesting, while others are boring, and sometimes even frustrating. Overall, the game is fine, but I don't think it's as good as it's reputation makes it seem.

I didn't much care for the setting. Cyrodiil had swamps and mountains and ports like Anvil. Skyrim's environments are pretty dull. It was disappointing lore-wise too. Instead of the fantasy ice land of endless mountain ranges we got a retconned pseudo-Scandinavia full of pseudo Scandinavians, full of things popular culture thinks are 'Viking' but in reality aren't.

Annoyingly, Bethesda saw fit to model Whiterun on Peter Jackson's version of Edoras in his Lord of the Rings movies, even though Tolkien's Rohirrim are in no way, shape or form linked to or inspired by Vikings, pseudo-Vikings or Scandinavians.

I put around 350 hours into Oblivion and its expansions. I put Skyrim down after around 15 and I've never felt the need to pick it up since.

I finished the main story as an orc war butcher who simply shredded everything away in hand-to-hand combat (how much I love the slow motion effects with a decent battle ax :)) In order to shed light on other facets, I of course gambled two other characters as well. each in their own way, great fun.

All in all, of course, the game doesn't end there, there is still so much that I have to and want to do.

This epic role-playing game might be Bethesda's best game yet, and offers an unique and spectacular world filled with fun. The freedom ensures a great experience for both the casual and hardcore gamer, as you're free to play the game how you like.

Skyrim is the largest, and most compelling work that I've had the opportunity to play this year. It's engaging, engrossing, and will take over your gaming life for many months to come. Not only is Skyrim among the best that 2011 has to offer, but for me, this is, without hesitation, the Game of the Year.
