A barely playable game to be truthful. Shows glimpses of potential in places but never amounts to more than a cheaply made cash-in on the franchise. A real real shame! The silver lining being that it has proved an easy 1000GS

This game took about 7 hours to finish and im amazed that i was bothered to last that long. The only real reason for getting this is that the achievements are very easy to get. If your bothered about achievements then rent it, if you not then steer clear.

The worst part of this game by far is the loading times. the ridiculous loading times. its very easy to die in this game, as there is no "blink time" between hits, and every time you die, you get stuck on a loading screen of the terminators face for at least a minute. then, after getting back inthe game and dieng in 30 seconds, back to a one minute loading screen. its the worst loading ive ever seen in a video game. worse than sonic 06, and worse than even the ps1 and even sega cd games. not only are the loading screens ridiculously long, but they show up so frequently as well. not including deaths, every time a cut scene loads, every time you reach a new sectionof the level, almost every menu, and almost every transition in the game is met with a loading screen. and the screens last at least 25-30 seconds, and thats AT THE LEAST! I understands the game needs to load, but its completely ridiculous. i know im beating a dead horse with the load times, but they completely ruin this game. without the bad loading times, this game would score at least 3 points higher. because you litteraly spend 4 minutes of a 15 minute level on loading screens, and not even downloading the game to the harddrive helps, it only lowers them about 5 seconds. One of the only positives, is that the achievments are easy to unlock. this game, at best, is a one night rental (if those still existed) that should be played through once, and never again. its just so lifeless and effortless, this is one game, that just exists, and has very little redeeming factors, and little to no point, to be purchased. i luckily got this game for 10$, but i feel horrible for the sorry suckers that payed 50$ for this game. i would never pay more than 10$ for this, and 10$ is really pushing it. unless your looking for easy achievments, and mindless, redundant shooting over and over in the same scenario, stay away from this game. it appeals to almost no one. Itas clearly just another movie cash in, that has no effort. Expand

Wow, the only reason I don't give this game a worse score is to reserve it to games I know deserve a lower score. Also, the game is playable and it does have working gameplay - it's just not very good, engaging, good looking or fun.

In fact, perhaps it has been hurried up to be ready for the cinema premiere, and this would have harmed the development. What a shame. Maybe next time. Expand

Terminator Salvation is another striking example to never get your hopes up for a game based off of a movie. The graphics are dull and the story is linear, with repetitive, slow gameplay and blurry cut scenes. There are no objective markers so half the time you don't know where you're going. This game shouldn't have been priced at standard $60 or $50, rather only $19.99 or even an XBLA. But 60 euros for a game this short is way too much. In fact, they shouldn't be allowed to make games this short at all. The fighting is very repetetive, and every fight seems to involve flanking which would work great in co-op...only they didn't include co-op over Live which is a bit odd as they managed to make a split-screen co-op. There is some idea in the opponents having weak spots, but what really takes away the feeling is lack of variety in weapons and randomness in the combat. Basically you run a while, stop to shoot four to five enemies in an opening, and repeat. For five hours. Controls do an average job, but I wonder why couldn't they just 100% copy the layout of, say, Gears of War for example. After all this game attempts to be like GoW in many aspects. The movement isn't very fluid even with the cover-to-cover system, but at least they managed to keep things simple. If there was a sprint button, I never found it. The gameworld doesn't allow for free movement as the player is strictly prohibited from diverting from the path, so it doesn't even allow for much tactical planning. Nor can you command your squadmates, who fortunately are invincible but to balance it out, usually don't manage to do any damage. Again, this seriously weakens the feeling of actually fighting as you can witness your team get hit multiple times without any reaction and you don't need to take them into account when fighting. Considering that there are no puzzles, it would be great to have some variety in combat. The sound effects and voice acting are rubbish, I can't even remember what the shotgun sounds like. However, the music occasionally captures the Terminator mood, but most of the time it is sort of lost in the background. The outcome would have been probably better even if they had looped the Terminator theme for the duration of the game. In terms of graphic, I'd say the game is below average-average. I've seen worse this year (Godfather II) but I've seen better...even before this year. What I don't understand is the design, as the trees and scenery have very stark contrast, and it at times looks like you're fighting in a jungle instead of LA. I wish I could say better things about the game. However, total lack of replayability, linear running through a set path, short script and lack of variety are not what games should have these days. The problem is that the game is average or below that in any aspect; there's no real reason to buy it. Expand

The sound is unbelievable - you will recognize all the samples from the Terminator and Terminator 2. The game will remind you of those 2 movies as well. If you remember many years ago there was a game, Terminator 2029. I had been waiting for that game very long. Though it was not good it gave some splashes of the L.A. 2029, which was cool. But overall T2029 was a failure. T: Salvation is EXACTLY what I wanted to see from T2029 and I recommend everyone to play this game. It looks like an interactive movie, you'll like it. Just don't hurry to run it through - be attentive to the details. Expand

DLC packaged as a real game. Much like the watchman game nobody bought off Xbox live this game feels like an unfinished demo. The gameplay feels like a dollar store geras of war and is about as dull as dull can be. Like people have said before, if you want to pad your gamerscore with 1000 points from three hours of work go ahead or spend 3 months getting seriously 2.0.

This game is a really good rent. It takes a few levels to get into it but the action is very fun. Friendly AI will take up strategic positions to flank enemies while enemy AI will do well to make you work for each satisfying kill. 1. The repetitive missions and lack of any replayability can make the few short hours spent in 2016 barely tolerable, and don't justify any more than a rental from anyone. While it's far from the worst movie tie-in this generation, it does little to change the stigma, and is best left untouched on store shelves.
  2. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It’s an insult to anyone who plays games for more than an hour or two a year. Grin should be tarred and feathered in public for this, for failing in so many basic areas, and making some of the most feared machines in the world as impotent as cross-eyed rabbits. Avoid at all costs, and because it lacks any form of incentive to replay, I will, most definitely not, be back.
  3. As gamers, we are well accustomed to the fate of movie-related games, which is why Salvation is such a disappointment. It has some solid combat, perhaps the best cover-system to date, and the foundation for a captivating plot, but the game lacks any sort of scope.
