the customization since the fifth Tekken game has increase significantly, you can custom the character to the point that it looks like an entirely different character. But it isn't a FASHION SHOW, it's a fighting game!

The online IS the where the serious Tekken player can be very competitive where your skills are strained. You are also ranked and your wins and loses are recorded and displayed to you opponents and to Tekken leaderboard browsers. But then you WILL learn in the biggest on concept of Tekken 6 is strategy and anticipation.

The story goes can go as deep as just watching a HI-Res cut scene of whatever fighter you completed the arcade with BUT it's goes even further in Scenario Campaign Mode which is like Tekken Force Mode but times 20 (Online CoOP capable). You see some of the 40 fighters involved in the story plot of a new family member of the Mishima family and Dr. B's new creation to stop evil. I couldn't follow the story much.....I just wanted to make bank for customization.

A few NEW systems are added to Tekken 6. Juggling is also a primary concept in Tekken 6. Attacking opponents while they are in midiair, it's hard to explain but you could go on the internet and searcj for Tekken 6 combos and see for yourself. This system is ABUSED in online mode.

Rage Mode is when your fighter is near defeat. It's health bar glows red showing your fighter is PISSED!

Tekken 6 is a worthy successor of the Tekken tittle. Despite it's different story mode, it fills you with the action that the past Tekken games had. The plot, fills you with the past games, and yes, like the past few Tekken games each character has their own purpose and reasons to join into the Iron Fist Tournament. The main story focuses on the adventure of Lars, though you can choose with which character you play. (the dialog may change depending on the characters personality, though in the videos, Lars is always shown) Your side-kick is the robotic girl named Alisa.

Tekken 6 is a worthy game for any collection, and I recommended it if you're a fan of Versus modes and arcade, fighting games. The best way to play this game, is to have a few friends over.

There's nothing wrong with Tekken 6's gameplay per se. The "bound" system is a fresh addition; the characters shine on 1080P capable XBOX360 and PS3; and it's fun overall, but they botched the console port. I've played this game and all I can say about it is: "WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!"; Unballanced fighters, crappy playability, pretty lame graphics, annoying and continuous cutscenes. Thats the worst fighting game I ever played on my 360; looks like an old pstwo game. If you have a 360 and you do like fighting games, don't buy this one; you have better choices.

Come on, Virtua Fighter 5 came out in 2006 and looks much better than this, even Namco's other fighter Soul Caliber 4 which came out long before this looks better. Terrible. As for the gameplay, it is the same game you've been playing for years with little added or taken away. If you're playing against others its fine, but against the AI, even on the lower difficulties you're gonna be upset. AI opponents bring a near-perfect game, sometimes they cheat, and they are always cheap. This was fine years ago but games have evolved, how about giving us an end boss that is challenging because he's smart, not because he always blocks, his moves cannot be blocked, he can kill you with three moves, and he is psychic. Lame. There is a scenario mode, which is boring, repetitious and ugly to look at. There isn't a whole lot to unlock except stuff for your fighter to wear, I guess playing paper-dolls is fun for adults in Japan. Creepy. When compared to any other fighter, this game can't stand up visually, in terms of gameplay or content. The story is ludicrous, the gameplay is dated, and the graphics are laughable. If you're in it for the multiplayer you might get some value out of this. But if you would also like some single-player action you're out of luck, there isn't much here and what little there is is tedious. Oh, and ripping off Street Fighter characters isn't cool Namco. I'll stick with Tekken 5, it is better than this is in every way. This gets a 2 for having decent online and because there is nothing functionally wrong with the game. Expand

Most of all I love the old days of fast paced 2D hand animated fighters from the arcade days. something about the cartoon sprite that just grabs me more. However I also love a well made 3D fighter, which in this current age of gaming is really in a prime state with advance hardware and graphics. By far at the top for one of my fav's in this breed of game is the PS2 Tekken Tag...Hours of play and tons of nights drinkin with my buds beating the ever loving hell out of each other.

Now I have been out of the loop for some years from the world of Tekken, outside of a few rounds of Tekken 4 played on an arcade cab, I have not touched these games in forever. So in 2012 I joined the world of Xbox 360 owners and recently started up buying as many fighters that I could find. saw Tekken 6 and thought "what the hell I'll pay $20 for this, they must have grown into something awesome by now and the internet reviews sound nice"...boy was I wrong.

One major thing I have noticed in recent years with fighting games is everyone studio making these seems to add some god awful story mode or "campaign mode" to try and flesh out the story...yet none of them have been worth more then the pile of rancid excrement they all turn out to be. Tekken 6 is guilty of this as well. The controls and fighting in this strange "beat'em up" wannabe mode is so broken that not even a 5 gallon bucket of industrial super glue could piece it back together. The target system is junk and you can barely face your enemy let alone block attacks since the control was based on controlling the character from the side and not the horrible offset camera angles they us in this mode. The idea was an ok concept but come on this was dull, broken, and just out right frustrating.

Once I cooled off from the burning rage that the story mode put me in, I took a deep breath and turn my attention over to the arcade modes to get some really action going...and they some how screwed the pooch on that as well. Now I will say its nowhere near as bad as the "story mode" but after all these past years, and now having a high powered system to program these games on how could they code the balance of the fighters so poorly. If you have at least been playing Tekken dating back to the PS2 days, you know what I mean.. Each fighter always has its pros and cons but if given enough time and a solid grasp of the combos, grabs, and side step techniques the slowest or weakest fighter can take on the fastest ,strongest fighter and win.
I spent a good amount of time this weekend pouring over about 70% of the characters and really put some effort into learning these moves and combos, which most haven't changed at all. Yet the fighters response time to the controller input seems to lang depending out who your are using.

I even went as far as to pull out my Tekken Tag, play them side by side, and sure enough plain as day the response time lagged. WTF shouldn't the advance machine with more power then PS2 outshine its predecessor. So that could only mean 1 thing and that is the programming effort put into the product was lazy and cheap. The only thing that this game has that is better then my old PS2 version is a sharper look and fast frame rate, but that is not enough to justify calling this a prefect game.

Tekken had a simple concept with a humble beginning ,that with proper foresight could continue to grow and birth a new standard with every passing title in its saga. To me, some one that loves fighting games and no joke owns well over 200 titles including a stack of imported Neo Geo carts and a closet full of Rom boards taken out of decommissioned Capcom arcade cabs, this game was nothing grand nor special in any way, flashy graphics and poor game design instead of keeping to the core objective nature of the series does not in anyway make this a game worth my time let alone the money I shelled out for it.

now then, since that's all laid out for all to see I would tell you to blow the dust of your PS2 and play a nice vintage Tekken game. You'll enjoy it more

    -Cheers

This game is simply excellent. Each Level you fight at feels unique and different, some feature breakable walls or floors, and have stuff going on in the background adding a little extra depth and character to each of these Locations.

The Scenario Mode I have mixed feelings about it, I greatly enjoy the more fleshed out interactions between characters, showing us hints of their individual personalities. this was something huge new and fresh especially for me because I only played the PSP version. Though I will say the Scenario Mode Combat is far from smooth, Its completely divorced from the Normal Gameplay you only have a couple of moves for whichever character you choose. Personally I think this would have worked much better If it gave you a choice of lets say up to moves you could use for this mode, i get what they were going for but, I feel it could have been executed better.

The Cosmetic Customization is even better than Tekken 7. In Tekken 7 you unlock with in game lootboxes while these are not monetized they still leave an awful taste in my mouth. In Tekken 6 All the Items are there available for you from the Beginning, It just a matter of accumulating the neccessary amount of in Game currency to get the items you want.

The Game has a low Skill floor making it very accessible for new and less skilled players, whilst also having a very high skill ceiling giving players something to strive for, The ranking system is also excellent as you have to fight and defeat high Ranking characters in order to improve your rank [As of the time Im writing this review Im at 1st Dan]

You want to prove your skill take your game online and challenge people from around the world.

The Actual Combat outside of Scenario is buttery Smooth, 40 Characters each with their own unique fighting style...and it feels rewarding when you learn a characters moveset, just as it does when you rank up.

Overall I give it a 9 prevented from reaching 10 because of the desicion to cut Gold Rush mode, but the game has plenty of content fun buttery smooth gameplay excellent, extensive comsetic Customization.

if you are a fighting game fan like me and have a PS3/ Xbox 360/One then Get this game. You Will Not Regret it.
