9 years later, this game still holds its own. Anyone who played this on the Dreamcast will have no problem with the controls. The graphics look a bit dated though since they are from the arcade version. For those not lucky enough to still have the DC version of this, it is well worth the 10 bucks. XBOX Live Arcade needs to have more titles like this.

A true classic. Great gameplay. One of the best fighting games ever made in my opinion.

  1. Take every cool martial arts weapon that you wanted as a kid, and add to it many of the killer utensils from medieval times– that pretty much sums up the weapons used by Soulcaliber characters. And, instead of keeping character types of a consistent ilk, Namco went all over the board– from reptile to Asian Elvis– in order to keep us coming back. We’re talking about some of the most highly-regarded fighting game characters of all time.

For some strange reason one of the best features of the original game, Mission Mode, is absent. Even more disappointing is the lack of any online versus mode. Sure I can thump my brother in 2-player offline whenever he comes over, but fighting games are perfect for multi-player.
  3. Under seven quid for one of the best one-on-one fighters since "Street Fighter II"? Bargain!
