    Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 is a game that was over hyped to hell,it was meant to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Sonic and what we got was a game that disappointed me to pieces.There are few positives but let me name them.
    -Good Soundtrack

    And thats all i can think of not going to write a long review but it's simple,The story has you playing as Sonic Shadow and Silver.....but it also has a big problem there are SIXTEEN gameplay styles why? there are 9 characters,so theirs 9,Sonic carries Elise,Shadows vehicles and Sonic mach speed sections.     This game is usually considered the worst by many, but I say it has potential, the main problems are the awful loading times and the bad physics, but I actually had fun playing the game. The price isn't worth it during it's release date.

    The controls are horrid, the story is full of contradictions, and whoever at Microsoft in charge of the release of this game on the 360 platform should be shot for forcing Sega to rush this out for Christmas 2006. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 gets one point for some gorgeous C.G.I. opening which sadly was the only good part of the game.

    Jogabilidade: Esse que um dos pontos mais fracos do game, a jogabilidade mais ou menos, embora alguns bugs que não atrapalham, há também muitos bugs que atrapalham, os bugs não me atrapalharam, mas eu tenho certeza que já atrapalhou várias pessoas. Se esse quesito fosse trabalhado melhor, não seria um dos pontos fracos do game

    História: Outro ponto fraco do game a história, ela muito confusa, mas aos poucos você vai entendendo, mas mesmo assim ela não tão boa, uma parte ruim da história, que Sonic tem que salvar Elise, uma princesa do jogo, toda hora, isso estranho, sei lá, não combina com Sonic, acho que se a história fosse trabalhada melhor não seria tão ruim assim.

    Gráficos: Um dos pontos fortes do jogo, os gráficos são muito encantadores e belos, às vezes dá vontade de ficar só andando pela fase, observando os cenários, fica mais bonitos ainda usando um cabo HDMI.

    Música: Essa sim a melhor parte do jogo, as músicas! São ótimas e viciantes, sempre antes de eu jogar este jogo, eu escuto as músicas desse game nos extras do game.

    Conclusão: Esse jogo, você tem que decidir, pessoas gostaram do game (como eu) mas reconheceram seus pontos fracos, outras já o odeiam, e consideram a ovelha negra dos jogos do Sonic. Só acho errado falar que este game "injogável" tem jeito de jogar este jogo, se você treinar, você pode o jogar melhor, o problema quando as pessoas ficam irritadas com o game, não jogam nem um pouco e já saem falando na internet que o jogo lixo, este game pode ser considerado pelo menos mediano e não um lixo.

    I recently decided to give this game another chance. I bought this game when it was new back in 2006, and never actually got around to finishing it. Loading up my old save file quickly reminded me why. Sonic '06 is truly a shining example of how good ideas don't matter if you can't actually implement them and polish them properly.

    First, the positives and the good ideas. The gameplay is very much inspired by sonic adventure, with a hub world linking to several linear levels that open in up progression, as well as 3 different campaigns, one for each character. Fortunately, gone are the hunting and gathering sections seen in the adventure titles. This game tries to be one thing, a sonic game, and that's just the way it should be. Trading in points for upgrades adds a little bit of depth to the gameplay, and allows you to use some new moves. The voice acting, while not great, is definitely better than previous 3D entries in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The one very notable thing about this game that's actually fantastic is the music. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end.

    This game, despite its good intentions, is a horrible, broken, unfinished mess. The hub world is barren and filled with stock characters. These stock characters can give you tasks, for which to complete you have to sit through 4(!) loading screens, completely negating any desire to play them. This is made worse by the loading times, which are absolutely awful, even when installed to your hard drive. These are even worse on the PS3 version. What it's loading, I'm not entirely sure, given the textures and models are of -extremely- poor quality. Despite the poor quality of the visuals, the game has frequent framerate drops and screen tearing. Glitches and bugs abound, this is definitely a game that did not receive any playtesting. Sections of levels are littered with unfair pitfall deaths, bugs that cause you to fall through the level geometry and a difficulty curve that's all over the map.

    Despite how terrible this game really is, there is an odd sense of enjoyment that you can get from playing it, although it's the same kind of enjoyment one gets while watching The Room. While not the worst game ever made by a very long stretch, this is among the largest disappointments to ever come out of Sega. What a mess...    … Expand

The game is the slowest Sonic game thus far (yes i played Sonic Lost World) and every character except for Sonic, Blaze & Omega (yes Omega) are terribly slow.

    The story had potential, but it's terrible. The characters are absolute morons that don't take advantage of what they have when they have it and they also make terrible decisions when it comes to plot progression. The story also has plot holes up the a$$ that makes the story make no sense whatsoever.

    Gameplay wise, it is very buggy and is very slow compared to other Sonic games. There are also terrible designed levels (the Sonic snowboarding levels are examples and Silver's infamous ball puzzle). The bosses are mostly bad except for the final boss.....

    ....and that leads me to the positives. Some of Sonic's levels CAN be enjoyable, Blaze and Omega can be pretty fun, the final boss is good and the score is easily the best thing about this game.

    This game should be a reminder to SEGA and Sonic Team of what can happen when you rush out a product that clearly was not finished. Sonic 06 is one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history. Can it be enjoyed? yes, but it definitely is not what we were expecting.    … Expand

    Underrated as all hell. people, hunting for glitches is an unfair thing to do. The story has many cinematic pros and has it's moments, the music is amazing! The graphics look splendid, the controls are tight, the level design is perfect, it overall was good.

    First of all, this should not be see as a game, this is a movie.
    The music is awesome, the story even more, but the gameplay is where it all comes wrong.
    To be honest this should be a movie instead of a game, because the gameplay doesnt match NOTHING to the story.

    I decided to give Sonic 06 a try about 2 years ago due to curiosity. I went into the game knowing it was going to be really glitchy, and as you can tell by the score I gave this game, I did not enjoy it. The glitchy-ness of this game is not the reason why I didn't enjoy it. I did not like this game because of the annoying hub world, bad level design, and bad controls. The majority ofI decided to give Sonic 06 a try about 2 years ago due to curiosity. The glitchy-ness of this game is not the reason why I didn't enjoy it. I did not like this game because of the annoying hub world, bad level design, and bad controls. The majority of Sonic's levels I actually enjoyed, and If they were the only parts of this game... I probably would've really liked it! But sadly Sonic's levels take up only about 25% of the entire game. The other 75% has you running around Soleanna which is an extremely bland city that's very easy to get lost in the first time around, and playing as other characters like Silver, Shadow, Amy, Omega, Knuckles, Rouge, Tails, and more. They all control like crap. You can clearly tell this game was rushed for that reason alone, but I was able to get over the controls. What I wasn't able to get over was the horrible levels that Silver and Shadow have to go through. Silver's levels tend to be more on the boring side and Shadow's levels tend to be on the more frustrating side. Silver is very slow, and I probably would've liked it a lot more if he was much faster. Shadow's levels can be very annoying because there's a lot of vehicles that you have to use, and they just aren't fun to me. Throughout some of these levels you switch between certain characters. Sometimes in Sonic's story you'll switch to Tails or Knuckles, as Silver sometimes you'll switch to Amy or Blaze, and as Shadow, sometimes you'll switch to Rouge or Omega. All of these extra characters are much worse than the main heroes (Sonic, Shadow and Silver) except for Blaze. Which also adds to why I don't really like this game as a whole.… Expand

    Wanna know how to make a fantastic Sonic game? Take everything bad from the 3D Sonic games and add long loading screens, stupid characters, bad music, and ugly textures! That'll bring in the dough!

    It's like playing Texas Hold 'Em with Uno cards: something that can be fun, but was ruined by things that REALLY don't belong.

I know there are lot more bugs but that's just laziness right there. And don't get me started on Silver. The reason I gave it a little credit, because of the music, and how great it looks for 2006.     One of the best Sonic games out there. Sonic's story unfortunately wasn't that interesting, however Silver's and Shadow's stories were amazing. The controls are fantastic and the graphics were amazing. I love the levels with Silver the Hedgehog and I like the missions where you get to play as different characters! The only reason it's a 9 is because in one or two stages I experienced someOne of the best Sonic games out there.     Well I must say the game is quite boring at times and there are glitches like silver walking on the bottom of blocks and not falling or enemies can fly but the only major glitch I found was getting stuck in a wall unable to move. The controls are a bit dodgy so they need some getting used to. I think everyone knows but I really dislike Elise and mephlies as well as Dr eggmans design .Well I must say the game is quite boring at times and there are glitches like silver walking on the bottom of blocks and not falling or enemies can fly but the only major glitch I found was getting stuck in a wall unable to move. The controls are a bit dodgy so they need some getting used to. I think everyone knows but I really dislike Elise and mephlies as well as Dr eggmans design . Let's start with the bad: It's buggy, The plot is stupid, the levels are unmemorable and dull, the graphics are none too pleasing in my opinion, and the whole game just feels too dark for a Sonic Title.

    It's not all terrible though. I mean, the music's good, the bosses' designs are pretty neat, if a bit too realistic for Sonic. The glitches are some of the most fun I've had breaking a game, from going to space, to standing upside down. If you're a glitch hunter, it's a must-have.

    However, these glitches, while many and entertaining, are actually quite rare without going out of your way. I originally played through the whole game, and only experienced a couple of bugs. It was only on my second playthrough, after hearing all of this stuff about bugs and the like, that I started experiencing them, and even then, normally causing them deliberately.

    But the plot. It's just unforgivable. I mean, who's idea was it to have a plot in a Sonic game, where Sonic just blindly chases someone who isn't even the main bad guy?! THE MAIN CHARACTER IS UTTERLY USELESS UNTIL THE VERY END! If you're curious and can find it for less than a fiver, then you may as well. Don't buy it for anything less, for any reason.     Yack, that's almost everything you need to say about this piece of crap. I'm a Sonic-fan and this unfinished garbage really hurts my black soul. Still I can say I like the overall level design - in rare moments it has the same feeling like the Adventure-titles have - and musics are pretty nice. Everything else, well, is **** Nothing more to say.

    Great music.
    some of the cut-scenes are very funny: case and point: Shadow giving Silver the good old roundhouse kick after freezing him with Chaos Control.

    Sadly, the game was rushed.

    If the game was not rushed for Sonic's 15th birthday, who knows? it could have been Sonic Adventure 3.

    This game is pretty good even though the games loading time is what stops it from being a ten.
    I find the game that is sometimes a bit on the slow side during some stages. But it is a good game all round it is as good as the first game of the series I can't wait for the new game to come out.

Video Games are supposed to be fun in the end and I had a blast playing this game, however I will fully admit that it's not the worst Sonic game ever, it's at least playable unlike Free Riders, Secret Rings, and Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis.     This game is a bit mediocre for being a glitchy game, unless you check every move you make, considering sonic was my flagship franchise from young age 'til now with others, Better on xbox 360 than Ps3, I wish this game was never rushed!

    Not gonna deny the game wasn't great. It wasn't even good. But it wasn't **** I enjoyed playing the story, as complicated as it was. Plus you have to admit exploiting the glitches was a fun way to pass the time. Even the 2-Player mode was fun. However the end sucked so much ass that it borderline breaks the game. Everyone can agree on that.

Look I like sonic 06 for what it is I looked past the glitches the controls which is not bad controls I mean a bit floaty but its not bad like Sonic adventure honestly the story was the same as sonic generations almost besides the kissing part it was the same with time travel it was all screwed up but any ways is sonic06 really bad as it seems no. and heres why. im not gonna tackle the story that much but its ok its not bad. the gameplay: the game plays well. well besides the crystals but im not gonna tackle that just yet but anyway sonic controls like sonic he moves fast has the homing attack and upgrades, and shields I believe, but theres shadow which has cars and silver who has telekinesis im not gonna do shadow but he controls like sonic but he can do odd attacks that make him stay in the air while he does that attack and the vehicles well kinda suck well the air craft one but they control well but silver my favorite he's a good character he takes sacrifices in the story he's the only on that questions if sonic was the one who caused there world to fall he has a sidekick blaze who I cant rember her gameplay so look for a other review of her gameplay but she risks her life to go to another dimension to make silver try to go on without her to save there world from mephiles and amy stops silver from attacking sonic that lets him look around the old world he and blaze doesn't know he admires it which makes him question if sonic was the iblis trigger. but his gameplay he can fly for a short period of time pick objects to attack which is kinda annoying but yeah the only one that mad me mad was the ball puzzle which I did all the way through in 40mins but theres a glitch to clip through the wall to the goal ring but yeah you have tail who attacks with rings which is annoying cuz when you lose rings youll have to find them in the other rings which don't go away anyways he can fly for a period of time longer the silver. the we have knuckles and rouge they control they same attack the same and fly but go down while flying and they can climb walls and can get stuck but they attack by punching and air attacks anyways that's it for gameplay. The design: the levels are pretty well designed besides a few glitches but its good to say the least they feel original and yeah. so this is my first review ill update it to if you can but its not bad if you can look past the same time travel story as sonic generations almost besides the the girl who cant cry who just keeps in her she cant express emotions because if she does iblis will come out of her and she cause the world silver lives in so yeah they erase iblis and they erase the events that happened. if you decide to buy this all I have to say is the story has time travel and they screw it up a lot but its a good game to try but don't make this your first sonic game please try sonic generations it has 2d sonic and 3d sonic. then buy this I didn't try the multiplayer yet so yeah just try others I know the score is eight.… Expand

    While not the game I was expecting for an anniversary title, this game does get the job done where it needs to be done, although many aspects of the game are either rushed or not functional at all. At best, this game is worthy of a few playthroughs to entertain yourself.

I will rather replay this game 10000 times than have to play Sonic Boom for Wii U one more time! Its just that bad! It set my bar low enough that when i finished with Sonic Boom, next day i played Sonic 06 and guess what? I liked it 10000000 x more than Sonic Boom! The visuals looked really good for it's time, it has a sick OST, SOME glitches are fun to pull off for the lolz and it has some fun levels, however the story (while better than Sonic stories from Colors onwards) is so poorly written that it makes a generic battle shounen anime look like a shakespear story, the bosses are lame and boring except for the final boss, the frame rate isn't very stable and it's poorly optimized.

    Kinda sad that a demo of a fan made Sonic 06 made with Unity is already more polished than this entire game.    … Expand

    I think this game is okay. Played it on the X360 first, and PS3 afterwards. The controls aren't AWFUL just in mach-speed sections, they are slippery. The story is OKAY . . . and Sonic's personality isn't just all "Hey, Baldy McNoseHair!" So, I rate it a 9 / 10!

With it's overabundance long load screens, terrible story, awkward controls, a wonky camera, and the amount of glitches found in game, it holds up as a masterpiece of a game. 10/10, Game of the Year, Game of the Decade, Game of all Time.

While its story tries it's best, it's gameplay's emphasis on 8 different characters and multiple hub worlds that the 360 can barely handle, doesn't really help that the characters that you've (unfortunately) stuck with for hours retcon the story out of existence. As terrible as the animation gets, the badness of this game actually makes this game more fun to play, and, no this game does not support bestiality. Of all of the Sonic games released, this is definitely one of the better ones (which says something about the franchise itself).

    Sonic 06, despite all it's glitches and rushed development is actually a great game that is really enjoyable, especially with the p-06 remake being made.

    I like this game much more than the boost era sonic games. It's not just hold x to win with easy level design, 2d sections and crappy slow platforming sometimes. Sonic 06 is the last sonic game where developers have put their heart into it. It really feels that they wanted to make the best sonic game but did not have time because of publisher said to realise the game earlier. Sonic levels are very open and the player can explore it in order to find defferent pathways, just like in sonic adventure, and I was able to enjoy some of his levels, like kingdom valley and radical train. Shadow and Silver's levels haveGot this game expecting to be the worst thing ever, but I found out it did lots of things right, although it indeed doesn't feel like a finished product. It just feels empty and the level design lots of times feels like it was forcing to make it longer...it's very hard to explain. If you're curious you should give this game a try, it's not as bad as the internet makes it up to be but I understand why to be enraged that a game had so much lost potential due to the development hell.… Expand

    I dont know why but I decided to hook into metacritic for a game that now a days gives me nostalgia.

    When I bought this back in 2006 I played through all the story and I was mesmerized by the characters comparing them to Sonic Adventure for dreamcast. I loved the game from beginning to end and I can say I'm someone who really didn't even noticed the glitchy "mess". Maybe if I were to    I dont know why but I decided to hook into metacritic for a game that now a days gives me nostalgia.

Story was stupid and nothing happens in Sonics the important stuff happens in shadow and silvers like why Elise has the chaos emerald and the whole experiment with the iblis and everyone being idiots the gameplay wasn't bad but it was still glitchy. Прекрасные скоростные секции за Соника. (По скорости сравнятся с ещё одной игрой Sonic Unleashed) вообщем прекрасная игра!Хорошая игра.     Amo questo gioco, gameplay simile a quello dei sonic adventure, grafica ottima per il 2006, ottima colonna sonora, stupenda trama e ben integrati i nuovi personaggi. Ci sono molti bug e le animazioni sono penose ma credo sia stato troppo odiato per questo

    If Sega wasn't so stupid and set the deadline to 2007 this game would've been the best. But it's still better than sonic mania and i love it the way it is. Bugs? Just buy the PS3 version you dummie!

    BEST GAME. BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS, GREAT LEVEL DESIGN, AMAZING STORY. A ToTAL MASTERPIECE THAT SHOULD BE AMONG THE HALL OF FAME OF THE VIDEO GAMES!!!

    Not only are the voices horrible, as is the case for most Sonic games, but the story makes very little sense. It’s like if you took any basic Nintendo story like Mario saving the Princess, lengthened it to several hours long, and filled it with mindless details that make no logical sense at all.

    Atrocious camera angles lead to cheap deaths, the slippery controls make it difficult to get a handle on the characters and the game has a large problem with pacing. It tries to mix in side missions with general stages, and the disastrous results ruin the game.
