    I think this game is okay. Played it on the X360 first, and PS3 afterwards. The controls aren't AWFUL just in mach-speed sections, they are slippery. The story is OKAY . . . and Sonic's personality isn't just all "Hey, Baldy McNoseHair!" So, I rate it a 9 / 10!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sonic 06, retrospectively, isn't that bad of a game. On the contrary, if you go out of your way to collect the most polished version (the PlatinumFamily Hits rerelease) you'll find yourself a really great time. Probably my personal favorite mainline game in the franchise.

    Its level design is the most open in the series, its soundtrack is awesome, and the Amigo character system it uses is the most well-balanced method of utilizing multiple playable characters in a Sonic game thus far, even better than SA2 and SA1's character systems. Gameplay lacks polish of course, as it's undeniably an unfinished game, but for a game that was rushed it's still really admirable. The controls are a little sensitive at first, but as time goes on they become easily adapted to.

    As for the story of the game, 06's story holds a ton of merit. While it does contain plot holes involving time travel, that isn't so much of an issue to me because very few time travel plot arcs don't have them in pretty much ALL fictional media, and so long as the characters are written well and treated goodly, the story should be enjoyable. And in 06's case, DAMN are the characters written well. Arguably, 06 was Shadow at his peak with his famous line he delivers to Mephiles, "If the world chooses to turn against me, I'll fight like I always have!". And Silver, the character this game introduced, had a very depressing but driven backstory for what's just a platformer game, especially with Blaze's sacrifice. Sonic's story is the weakest, but even then, Elise in his story slightly develops as a character (going from a basic damsel-in-distress to threatening to jump from Eggman's ship) and Sonic still delivers plenty of inspirational lines.
    Another great thing about the story is just how interconnected all of the cutscenes are, like how Elise envisioning Silver in the intro cinematic is a side effect of him meeting her as a child. So damn cool.

    And speaking of cinematic, that perfectly describes this game. Easily, this is the most cinematic and intense Sonic game of all time, ranging from Solaris himself to Silver's confrontations with Sonic and Shadow, *everything*. The game's huge emphasis on trying to tell a gripping science fantasy story, in my honest opinion, succeeds, and with flying colors.

    Verdict:
    On the whole, Sonic 06 is, of course, unfinished. And as a result of that, understandably lacks polish in many an area such as gameplay itself or just general technical programming. However, given everything else, ranging from production value to soundtrack to story to level design to characters, it is still my favorite mainline Sonic game to this day. I fully understand why someone wouldn't like it if their primary issue is the glitches, but if that's the case, again, just get the PlatinumFamily Hits 360 version. It's pretty stable pretty much 90% of the time.

    This game is considered to be the worst game, but i think it is fun. If you complete the game you can go around and explore all of the glitches around soleanna and this game is one out of a few Sonic Games to have some good multiplayer. overall think it is pretty good minus all of the glitches and poor controls.

    I consider that there is only one way to call this game: an unfinished Sonic adventure 3, yes, the game is broken and has ... A poorly made Sonic Boom Eggman, But that does not take away from "adventure 3", it is very well placed where it goes, the thing is the same as always, it was not finished, in my opinion, it is a great game that could have been much more

    I honestly think it's a little underrated. I mean yeah there's a lot of glitches but I still find it fun.
    and the music... oh my god is it good, the entire track sounds awesome!!
    Tomoya Ohtani did an amazing job as well as Hideaki Kobayashi, Mariko Nanba, Taihei Sato, and Takahito Eguchi.

    recommend it if you like awesome music and really fun glitches!!

    I havent played this game, but guess what, before you say ANYTHING, this is ALL OF YOUR faults, the internet just DECIDED this game was a dumpster fire, when what really happened was the development being good and all, the trailer looking awesome, everyone was hyping it up and forcing sega to rush the game, then when they rushed the game... OH MY GOD WORST GAME EVER!     The game isnt that bad as people say. It has glitches But if you know how to play you dont see them that much. Relationship beetwen Sonic and princess Elise is kinda cringe But nothing more wrong. The only big minuses are big loading screens

    Despite the game's many, many MANY flaws... Especially the unforgiving story in general, I love the game. I used to hate it but no.. I like it now. I played alot of Sonic games and Adventure 1 is my favorite and what I believe what Sonic formula SHOULD be instead of tired 2D sections we've been getting for the last 16 years since this game's release and I find it really unfortunate becauseDespite the game's many, many MANY flaws...     What I love about the game:

    +Perfect voice actors. Maybe because I love and have great memories of Sonic X this is the Sonic game feels right with the right VA for me.
    +It is very challenging. I used to hate the gameplay for obvious reasons especially the mach speed sections but after beating them I felt very rewarding!
    +Game still looks beautiful, aside from the anthropomorphic characters they look really weird. But the graphics from 2006? Ahead of its time.
    +Huge cast of characters, so much risk taken and they serve great except for Elise everyone despises here and I'm happy for that. I really like Silver though!
    +Level design and replayability

    What I hate about the game:

    -I mean, the obvious
    -The story. And the plot holes is whatever I didn't notice it too much but the story sucks. Soleanna and the game focuses on Elise. I felt like this weird romance with her and Sonic is wrong on so many levels, and one of them being completely and utterly is STRAIGHT UP character assassination for my boy. What I'm talking about? Sonic rescuing a princess and have romantic plot... this is literally what Sonic was supposed to represent, just look at the early Sonic concepts and one of them concept bios that the hedgehog has a human girlfriend but was scrapped, and if you noticed by now, Sonic tries to get away from Amy almost all the time and do you know why? Because Sonic was supposed to be the opposite of Mario.
    -I feel like the idea for anthromorphic characters transforming into the real world with real humans and gritty style feels out of place and inconsistent.    … Expand

    Very fun game with an almost perfect story. Does contain glitches and long loads but that doesn't take away the fun and the glitches are easily avoidable most of the time. Good structure and pacing as well.

This main line game was the last one that have multiple playable characters besides Sonic, Sonic, and your OC. While I did encounter a great handful of glitches, none of them broke my immersion into the story. The graphics are gorgeous, no matter what the stage, no matter who you play as or who you encounter; they have been souped up a lot since the Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes days. The music is also a key highlight, as most 3d Sonic games go, but this time, it is more endearing, and worthy of any Sonic-fan music playlist (you can tell a lot of effort has been put into its composition, matching each stage or gameplay strategy perfectly). The storyline is actually quite good, compared the the mess they made of Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes. The cut scenes are very well done, and this time round you really wanna pick up Tails and cuddle him! The other awesome thing is you get to play as three different hedgehogs, with varied gameplay elements; Sonic with his speed-infused gameplay, Shadow with his more aggressive and vehicle-based methodology, and newcomer Silver with his telepathic-based approach.. Each guy has his own story line, which encompasses the story of the other two. All in all a good game which would have been an A1 masterpiece if only the glitches were ironed out and eliminated and the player had more control over the...well controls!… Expand

It has all it needed to be an excellent sonic game, but it was not revised. Yet, I think Sega needs to use again this formula, but revising first for technical issues. Voices don't match up with mouths at times; average to awful voice acting; forced to play as other characters in many levels, even though it should be only the character you actually chose to play as; the sonic-elise relationship was cringe-worthy and annoyin; character models were average if not bad, especially Elise's; shadow feels like they are forcing you to use vehicles instead of your normal speed, and while some parts with it work, others shouldn't even be attempted; annoying to fight enemies; some slow parts; when climbing walls with rouge or knuckles it can be hard to jump off; bad controls; average storyline; some stages are recycled with other characters; NPC's simply say "Hey." in the same voice and an extremely long amount of text while moving their hands and mouth randomly, rather than actually making the voices, mouths, and hands be unique and work in sync; knuckles and rouge never get to hunt for emeralds; obvious often stated; loading takes forever; side missions tedious; AI followers often dying many times because they don't realize there is in fact an ability to jump;;;;Other than that it's fine.
    ----Bottom line. It's average. Not as bad as many say it is, but still sort of bad. Rent it if you think you like it. Sega really should have polished it way more than they actually did.    … Expand

    Well, the game is simply unfinished. I think that's its largest flaw by far. It's like playing a beta version. If you can deal with bugs, then I think you'll enjoy it much more. The storyline also has some issues and Shadow's levels are a bit dull.

    Overall though only Sonic Adventure 2 tops this in the Sonic series in my opinion. A wasted opportunity, yes, and much less impressive than it SHOULD have been, but an unpolished diamond is still a diamond     … Expand

I believe more Sonic games for a Mature audience should be made and this was one of them. Although they completely mest up in Gameplay mechanics and never-ending loading screens, I really enjoyed the storyline as well as the Music! Okay a LOT of people hate this game depends on the experience, My PS3 version on one hand is one of the Worst games I've experienced, however the Xbox version is something I truly enjoy and gave me so many new things to like, Mephiles my favorite villain, Silver my favorite hero. Sonic's and Silver's gameplay I really love along with some of the Amiigos,and I really enjoy the open world level design. I love this game and others shouldn't be bashed for loving it like I do, and people need to STOP making troll accounts just to hate on this game, honestly see how many people have this for their only review and it'll all make sense. Seriously also Metacritic needs to check IP addresses because I swear some people are making multiple accounts just to hate on this game and I'm sick of it… Expand

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2006 Is a GOOD game. the story sucked yes there are (hilarious) glitches yes but i love nearly everything else i kinda liked silver's levels shadow's were good and i loved sonic's story the boss fights were okay and mephiles is a cool character so overall Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 is a good game

Look I like sonic 06 for what it is I looked past the glitches the controls which is not bad controls I mean a bit floaty but its not bad like Sonic adventure honestly the story was the same as sonic generations almost besides the kissing part it was the same with time travel it was all screwed up but any ways is sonic06 really bad as it seems no. and heres why. im not gonna tackle the story that much but its ok its not bad. the gameplay: the game plays well. well besides the crystals but im not gonna tackle that just yet but anyway sonic controls like sonic he moves fast has the homing attack and upgrades, and shields I believe, but theres shadow which has cars and silver who has telekinesis im not gonna do shadow but he controls like sonic but he can do odd attacks that make him stay in the air while he does that attack and the vehicles well kinda suck well the air craft one but they control well but silver my favorite he's a good character he takes sacrifices in the story he's the only on that questions if sonic was the one who caused there world to fall he has a sidekick blaze who I cant rember her gameplay so look for a other review of her gameplay but she risks her life to go to another dimension to make silver try to go on without her to save there world from mephiles and amy stops silver from attacking sonic that lets him look around the old world he and blaze doesn't know he admires it which makes him question if sonic was the iblis trigger. but his gameplay he can fly for a short period of time pick objects to attack which is kinda annoying but yeah the only one that mad me mad was the ball puzzle which I did all the way through in 40mins but theres a glitch to clip through the wall to the goal ring but yeah you have tail who attacks with rings which is annoying cuz when you lose rings youll have to find them in the other rings which don't go away anyways he can fly for a period of time longer the silver. the we have knuckles and rouge they control they same attack the same and fly but go down while flying and they can climb walls and can get stuck but they attack by punching and air attacks anyways that's it for gameplay. The design: the levels are pretty well designed besides a few glitches but its good to say the least they feel original and yeah. so this is my first review ill update it to if you can but its not bad if you can look past the same time travel story as sonic generations almost besides the the girl who cant cry who just keeps in her she cant express emotions because if she does iblis will come out of her and she cause the world silver lives in so yeah they erase iblis and they erase the events that happened. if you decide to buy this all I have to say is the story has time travel and they screw it up a lot but its a good game to try but don't make this your first sonic game please try sonic generations it has 2d sonic and 3d sonic. then buy this I didn't try the multiplayer yet so yeah just try others I know the score is eight.… Expand

    Im giving the so called "WORST SONIC GAME EVER" score of 8 is just because it isnt as bad as the Boom game! I will rather replay this game 10000 times than have to play Sonic Boom for Wii U one more time! Its just that bad! It set my bar low enough that when i finished with Sonic Boom, next day i played Sonic 06 and guess what? I liked it 10000000 x more than Sonic Boom! Now it became aIm giving the so called "WORST SONIC GAME EVER" score of 8 is just because it isnt as bad as the Boom game! Also adding adding Silver and Blaze in this game gave good impact to the game, His levels were different, they were slow but using telekinesis and manipulating badniks' powers was kinda fun.     The music is AWESOME!!! Hands down, the best, of probably ANY video game franchise! 2 of the greatest songs are on there! His World, and Solaris Phase 2, which I happen to be listening too at the song right now! But, the gameplay isn't the best... the music makes up for it.

    My thoughts on the levels aren't all good though. Let me just say one thing. Silver's Dusty Desert.
    So, in conclusion for that topic, the level design and gameplay get a 9/10.

    Story: I really don't see any plot-holes. I think that the story is movie worthy, and could be the plot of the actual Sonic Movie. I'm not going to give a synopsis here, but I do like, nay, LOVE this story. I give it a nice 8.5/10.

    Overall Thoughts: The game doesn't deserve the hate it gets, although I see where people come from when they say that the game is bad. I totally get that. In my honest opinion, I think it's just a flawed game with big potential, and as of 2017, a small following of it's own. Unlike a certain other infamous Sonic game.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If Forces hadn't been released yet I'd say that 06 is the most unfairly hated Sonic game. However Forces has been released and has met a multitude of bad reviews that have nitpicked it to hell and back because it isn't Mario Odyssey or Sonic Mania. Anyway that makes 06 the second most unfairly hated game since people have started realising that Unleashed was actually really good and Shadow wasn't that bad either.

    The glitches: not as prominent as the Game Grumps would have you think. Let me ask you a question, who in their right mind sees a searchlight tower they have been told to destroy with missiles and thinks "hey I'm gonna homing attack it to see if I can make my way up it and destroy the light that way instead". In order to find most glitches in this game you have to try very hard. The box kick for instance requires you to spin-kick on a very specific part of the box and to maintain flight you have to maintain that specific positioning while fighting against Sonic moving off the spot that makes the box fly. The glitches you're likely to find in an ordinary playthrough like the models spasming when you stand on an edge or Shadow's buggy accidentally launching into space (probably more luck was involved here, I only triggered it once but it was hilarious) tend to be only graphical or will be beneficial, including that one I just mentioned where the buggy shot to space. I lost a life but I also lost my sides laughing, it was really funny.

    Gameplay: admittedly flawed but still fun. I get that Sonic not having a hurtbox on his jump sucks as do the inverted camera controls and Silver being kinda slow but these are all things you adapt to quickly. Once you're used to the game you can have lots of fun with it, for instance did you know that when Shadow fight Silver you can defeat Silver using only the cargo boxes on the passing trains? 06 gives you plenty of room to have fun your own way or even skip the fun if you really want to, using Sonic's Sky Gem, Shadow's Chaos Spear or Silver's wall-clipping dash thing that's really hard to pull off. My biggest gripe is probably Shadow's slowness, not Silver's. Silver is bearable because his levels aren't designed for speed. Shadow's are and he is far too slow outside of a motorbike. Also Tails and Amy suck to play as cause they're even slower but you don't have to play as them as much.

    Story: kiss and time travel conundrums aside pretty good. 06 redeemed Shadow as a character for me, introduced Silver who was really well-written and took me on a bit of a feels trip and Sonic felt like he was actually cool again with his decent roasts mid-bossfight. Tails and Knuckles were kinda useless in Sonic's story but they weren't unwelcome, especially not Knuckles who was actually pretty competent here. The End of the World was where the writing really shone, the characters responded to Sonic's death in a believable manner and it was a bit heartwarming seeing Tails and Knuckles huddling together like brothers or Shadow looking away out of respect.

    Music: need I say anything? I think it's universally agreed that 06 had a great soundtrack. That is correct.

    Fun factor: through the roof. Immensely replayable, I enjoyed the hardmode level layouts which is something I don't normally do and it was generally and genuinely fun to play.

    In conclusion, if you ever want your game to be hated just include a dubious romance subplot and a light sprinkling of graphical glitches and you'll have people wailing both on it and at it even if they've never touched it.    … Expand

    Sonic the Hedgehog isn't the best gem Sega has provided to the fans from the franchise,and it isn't the worst. As terrible as the animation gets, the badness of this game actually makes this game more fun to play, and, no this game does not support bestiality. Of all of the Sonic games released, this is definitely one of the better ones (which says something about the franchise itself).

    One of the best Sonic games we've ever had, right next to SA2. It has obvious problems you'd be a fool to ignore due to being unfinished; such as a broken gem meter. But what is there is an incredible story matching with extremely fun gameplay, with multiple playable characters and beautiful level design.

    1) The storyline is actually decent. It's no more convoluted than some of the movies I've seen that people actually think are good. Yes, it's complicated, but that's what I like about it. The closest I've come to a plothole involves Blaze. For some reason, she's in the future and friends with Silver. That in itself would be fine if they didn't also try to imply that she knew Sonic from her previous adventure in Sonic Rush, which makes one wonder whether she's from a different dimension or from the future. I will also say that Elise's crush on Sonic made me very uncomfortable.

    2) The gameplay is nice. Sonic and Shadow are fast, like you'd expect, but Silver's gameplay adds a little variety with his psychokinesis. Tails and Rouge attack in bizarre ways that, honestly, make me glad I didn't have to use them much. Omega and Blaze control fine. Amy, for some reason, can turn invisible, which is kind of cool. There are some scripted areas, especially in Sonic's level's, that will kill you if you don't hit them exactly right, but you can avoid that if you know where those spots are. I even enjoyed Sonic's super-speed sections, even though one of them has a ramp that you have to hit exactly right if you don't want to die.

    3) The soundtrack is amazing, as I've come to expect from Sonic games. It's one of the few things that even those who hate the game like about it.

    4) Between levels, you explore Soleanna in an open-world situation, like Sonic Adventure. It's nice to see the town, and there are little side missions you can complete as well.

    Now the bad:

    1) Glitches. As I said earlier, there are some scripted areas that will kill you if you don't hit them at the right angle. There's also the fact that Knuckles and Rouge can get stuck on the walls when climbing, which forces you to climb around on the wall and mash the button, trying to find that sweet spot that will release you. Overall, though, I even tried to recreate some of the glitches people say they have experienced (usually on the PS3), and I haven't been able to. My best guess is that the 360 version is a little less buggy. However, the glitches will eventually reveal themselves in the right context.

    2) Long loading times. Every single loading screen takes forever, and there are a lot of them. My sister calls this a plus, saying it gives her a break after a particularly intense level, but I'd rather be able to get on with the game.

    I get why people don't like this game, but it could be worse. Given more time to actually finish it, Sega could have made a truly amazing game out of this. Overall, I enjoyed it, and I do still break it out to play every now and again.    … Expand

    For me, this game is enjoyable both ironically and not. This is probably one of the most important things in my collection. I have finished this game 3 times. The worst of the bugs that it has is climbing walls as Knuckles and Rouge, the rest is passable.

    This game is a really good thing. I have played it for thousands of hours, so I could appreciate it very well. The story is fine, the serious touch that was given I like it, because it does not go for a fairly simplistic story, although this also works against it, since the Sonic games have never been characterized by having stories that are taken in serious themselves and this can alienate one or another fan of the saga. And of course we can't forget the great soundtrack of the game. In my opinion, the best soundtrack of the entire saga, both 2D and 3D games. They set the levels pretty well, they are addictive to listen to and you feel an air of adrenaline when listening to them, just an incredible soundtrack.
    The game has side quests, which are, I don't know, "meh". They are not a big deal, but neither is it crap, they get to entertain, which is the important thing, in addition to giving you something different from the main missions, but it can be very boring for some.
    And of course we can't leave out the infamous loading screens. That really does not do me a torture compared to other games with even more recent games, because at most they could take 30 or 60 seconds. The big problem is that there are unnecessary loading screens for everything, to load even one or two dialogs, something really meaningless.
    Sonic the Hedgehog is not a lousy game as many claim, but since it was something that came out prematurely and in a hurry, the errors did not wait and the taunts towards them were not either.
    If you can play it, I highly recommend it, only then you will have a true vision of what the game is.    … Expand

    Let me explain why.
    That was the first Sonic game I played if I put the demos aside, and don't even think that's why I don't think it's horrible like so many others.
    There are several aspects that I really liked according to my experience, these being:

    -The soundtrack is simply something that gives me the creeps. It's epic and has some great harmonies, especially the main theme. Elise's theme is beautiful and overwhelming, as much as the character like that has a large group of haters, we have to admit that the theme is brilliantly well done. Honestly, in my opinion, Sonic Unleash and Sonic 2006 are those games that have the best soundtracks in the entire franchise.

    -The episodes of Shadow and Silver have a story of excellence. Everything that goes on during those two chapters made me so caught up on the screen when I played that I can't even describe it with words. When the scene took place where Blaze put herself in Silver's place, sacrificing herself to ensure a safe future, that was something that really took my toll.

    -Mephiles is a creative villain who is one of my favorite characters in the franchise. I liked the idea they came up with for it, I liked how it connected with Elise's past, as well as with Shadow. I liked the Boss Battle against him in the Shadow Episode, it was one that I really enjoyed the most, compared to the others.

    -It's a game with an acceptable duration. Yes, I know the loads last two hours, but do you know what that period of time also lasts? Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces. What I mean by this is that I personally prefer to play a long game than something I can finish in a single afternoon, like Sonic Generations. Taking days to complete a game is what makes it more fun, not something that ends right away.

    -I had fun with the bugs, to be honest. For the most part, Sonic fans would get annoyed with every bug that popped up or when the game just crashed. But I always had big laughs about it. The bugs made the game more unique and fun for me, something different. It sounds like I'm saying absurd things, but it's the truth, I really had fun.

    That was my opinion, of course, it has all those negative aspects, like the desynchronization of the characters' voices in the cutscenes, the delay in loadings, and the way Elise became an annoying and obnoxious princess (How is it possible for a person to be kidnapped right after being rescued?!), but despite all that, I really enjoyed the game :).    … Expand

    A lot of review's have said that this is god damn awful, not so. okay its not what we were expecting i admit, its broken in places and the storys not interesting enough to engage but it's an above-average platformer and lets face it what much else can u do with Sonic? Its great fun nothing else. oh and it also has great soundtrack. Theres always Sonic 2.

    The new Sonic is good, but it isn't the best one of the series. The mach speed areas are a highlight for this game. The camera views are painful a lot of the times. When are they going to fix the camera? Other than that, this game is a must for Sonic fans. Others, I would warrant a rent first.

    While the gameplay itself is full of technical errors, the sense of speed from Sonic is incredible. The graphics are lush, the levels are big, and the musical score is the best in the series. The storyline is full of plot-holes and confusion, but it doesn't overall hurt the naturality of the game, be it for better or for worse.

    Playing this game I enjoyed the variety of different specialties and attacks based on the character, as well as the dramatic last story and ending, but the town missions and the "human world" takes away some of the luster.

    Playing Sonic the Hedgehog, you will find yourself impressed by the moments when the game "gets it right", and frustrated by the many moments in between where it "gets it wrong". If you enjoyed any of Sonic's previous 3D console outings, you will find some enjoyment in this game as well.

    The story is awesome! Well...*ahem* to be fair the only thing wrong with the story is Elise cuz she makes weak because he need to protect her all the time, they also have a strange zoophilia relation but c'mon would you kill Roger Rabbit?
    The game suffers from "Loading as **** problem and that's the only thing I really hate on the game!
    But guys you need to know something this game suffered from hate propaganda made by classic fans, they were spreading their opinion and many people followed their opinion without playing the game properly.
    This is all really the game is so over rated and it doesn't deserve all this hate aits not that bad so stop **** and play the game like this!

    The graphics look great for a release of early next gen consoles, the soundtrack in this game is memorable and the graphics look amazing. The storyline is disturbing and the gameplay itself is ridiculous!!! The collision detection is horrible and glitches, like the Silver boss battle, is unacceptable and almost unplayable if you use a certain technique.

    Sonic 06 is a good game. The gameplay is fun and easy to control, but the story is confusion and didn't make any sense. The graphics are okay for a old Xbox 360 and PS3 game. The voice acting is decent, but some terrible. I say Sonic the Hedgehog or Sonic 06 is a decent sonic game and a under-rated one.

    Underrated as all hell. people, hunting for glitches is an unfair thing to do. The story has many cinematic pros and has it's moments, the music is amazing! The graphics look splendid, the controls are tight, the level design is perfect, it overall was good.

    This game had everything it needed to be a good game. A TRULY good game. But, sadly, it was not meant to be. Bugs, glitches, poor cutscenes, trashy voices, it all screamed RUSHED. But I guess that's what the fans get. What goes around come around.......

    This game gets a 7 for its potential, nothing more.

    It has too many bugs and strange concepts, it was experimented too much and with some things that are far-fetched and uninteresting even well-used concepts but overshadowed by the monstrous amount of bugs.

    Still a good game that I WOULD recommend if you are a fan of the SONIC franchise.

    If you find it cheap its worth giving it a try, its not a perfect game but its alright, it has a good music and the story isnt as bad as people say imo, some characters arent as fun to play as others tho.

    To be honest this game was meant to be a masterpiece. I understand the development hell they most have gone through. But overall,it's great if u don't focus too much on glitches. Having to play as sonic, shadow and silver with there own unique move set. It's fantastic.

    The game sucks because of the bugs, sure, but it's fun. It has great level design, music, and could very well have been the SA3 that everybody wanted. Alas, it was not to be...until Project-06 made every single level in this game awesome. Apparently all this game needed was better-controlling characters, a brilliant scoring system, and a lot of bug-fixes to be amazing. Huh

    Well I must say the game is quite boring at times and there are glitches like silver walking on the bottom of blocks and not falling or enemies can fly but the only major glitch I found was getting stuck in a wall unable to move. The controls are a bit dodgy so they need some getting used to. Let's start with the bad: It's buggy, The plot is stupid, the levels are unmemorable and dull, the graphics are none too pleasing in my opinion, and the whole game just feels too dark for a Sonic Title.

    It's not all terrible though. I mean, the music's good, the bosses' designs are pretty neat, if a bit too realistic for Sonic. The glitches are some of the most fun I've had breaking a game, from going to space, to standing upside down. If you're a glitch hunter, it's a must-have.

    However, these glitches, while many and entertaining, are actually quite rare without going out of your way. I originally played through the whole game, and only experienced a couple of bugs. It was only on my second playthrough, after hearing all of this stuff about bugs and the like, that I started experiencing them, and even then, normally causing them deliberately.

    But the plot. It's just unforgivable. I mean, who's idea was it to have a plot in a Sonic game, where Sonic just blindly chases someone who isn't even the main bad guy?! THE MAIN CHARACTER IS UTTERLY USELESS UNTIL THE VERY END! If you're curious and can find it for less than a fiver, then you may as well. Don't buy it for anything less, for any reason.     While not the game I was expecting for an anniversary title, this game does get the job done where it needs to be done, although many aspects of the game are either rushed or not functional at all. At best, this game is worthy of a few playthroughs to entertain yourself.

The visuals looked really good for it's time, it has a sick OST, SOME glitches are fun to pull off for the lolz and it has some fun levels, however the story (while better than Sonic stories from Colors onwards) is so poorly written that it makes a generic battle shounen anime look like a shakespear story, the bosses are lame and boring except for the final boss, the frame rate isn't very stable and it's poorly optimized.

    Kinda sad that a demo of a fan made Sonic 06 made with Unity is already more polished than this entire game.    … Expand

I can agree with people that the loading times were very slow. This game can also get a bit hard time to time. Part of the reason is because of the controls. Overall though, this game has a lot of good and a lot of bad. I never ran into any glitches every time I played this game, or if I did, they didn't bother me that much. Not saying they weren't there, cause I've seen them in videos. But, I personally have never run into any major glitches.     rlly not good. Glitches, bad story and poor psychic. But its not that bad how Shadow The Hedgehog, i really like the story idea the Iblis Triger, the level desing is ok and the graphics are ok too. The first cutscene is AMAZING.

    Not only are the voices horrible, as is the case for most Sonic games, but the story makes very little sense. It’s like if you took any basic Nintendo story like Mario saving the Princess, lengthened it to several hours long, and filled it with mindless details that make no logical sense at all.

    Atrocious camera angles lead to cheap deaths, the slippery controls make it difficult to get a handle on the characters and the game has a large problem with pacing. It tries to mix in side missions with general stages, and the disastrous results ruin the game.
