    Sonic The Fighters. God this game has got some awful reviews by critics, but I would rather look at the player value than the critical opinions. The game has relatively smooth control, although the game can be won by pushing one button the whole time. The games characters all control about the same, which is good in some aspects, but also bad for people who want variety. The graphics ofSonic The Fighters. The graphics of the game are EXTREMELY cartoony, which fits very well considering this is a Sonic game. (I'M LOOKING AT YOU SONIC 06) The game is very short, but has a good aspect of replay value. Once you beat the main story with all characters you can get all... Eight chaos emeralds? Whatever, and then you proceed to the last boss Metal Sonic. Now, Metal Sonic. I classify Metal Sonic's level from this game as one of the most frustrating bosses I have ever seen. Metal Sonic does pretty much the same thing sonic does, except his move set is literally, a move from every other characters move set all combined. This makes the boss extremely frustrating, ESPECIALLY the move where he pulls you up into the air, and drops you on your face. He does this move ALL THE TIME, which takes away about half of your health. However, when you go Super Sonic the boss is very easy as Super Sonic is invincible and deals massive damage. There's no ending cutscene or anything, which leaves a little empty feeling when you finish the game, but you have to take into consideration that this was an arcade game in the 90's, which was ported to modern consoles, just like SEGA has done with most of their old games. Overall, I think this game can be fun at times, but it much more fun if you are battling your friends. The intensity of you all cheering each other on to win the battle can be extremely entertaining. So I'm giving this game a 7, because of it's nice soundtrack, smooth-ish controls, and my overall enjoyment with this game.… Expand

    It's classic and obscure sonic game, true gift for fans. Music and graphics are still very enjoyable. Yes, this game is terrible as serious and competitive fighting game. But this game was never something like this. This is little joky Fighting Vipers sonic mod. And I am very glad AM2 properly ported it and added bonus content and better graphics.

    This piece of art is by far the best fighting experience you could get from any game. High speed battles and cunning graphics make for a solid, well functioning fighting game. There are many stages with great tracks and graphical design. The characters all feel vastly different from each other adding replay ability to the best sonic title ever released.

    En lo personal , este juego me gusta mucho , en especial poder jugar con otra persona "amigablemente", en general si el juego de peleas no fuera injusto en almenos un combate (metalsonic) no seria un juego de peleas clásico

    It's utter cartoon chaos from beginning to end, and I absolutely love it. Simply for the amazing squash and stretch, this one will leave you easily entertained.

    Sonic the Fighters is a OKAY game for the most part. It's not the Sonic game where you run and collect rings and defeat Dr. Robotnik. All you do in this game is fight and fight till the cows come home. The gameplay is EXTREMELY short and can be beat by just pressing one button all the way through. The characters have little to no special abilities and they are all the same. The graphicsSonic the Fighters is a OKAY game for the most part. I won't give anything away, but it took me almost 10 attempts to finally beat the final boss and the game.     This game is okay but and all but the thing that ruins it for me is #1 Its to damn easy (Until you get to metal sonic) #2 (The online servers are a ghost town) You have to be lucky to find someone and when you do they just keep spamming moves over and over again which brings me to...... #3 (Spamming) spamming is the #1 reason why this game is getting sucky reviews by critics.     Clunky, dated fighter with Sonic tie in. The colours are nice and the gameplay is easy to pick up but it very quickly becomes frustrating due to the lack of control during the fights. Good for a quick thrill but won't draw you back.

    Not a bad game for the $5 that you will be spending, but the game certainly lacks any sort of full player combat controls that the player wants. Anyhow, the game does have decent graphics, music, and characters. I recommend getting the PS3 version cause the controller makes the game feel more natural.

This game was born in 1996 on Sega's Consoĺes and in 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and for 1996 in this game awesome graphics and normal storyline for fighting 1996 and in this game 8 emeralds, but in all games about Sonic (not to mention Sonic Blast and The Hedgehog on Sega Genesis and Mega Drive) 7 emeralds . In this game 8 emeralds because in this game 8 characters which the you must win and for one win given one emerald . You must collect all emeralds that would fight with final boss - Metal Sonic, when you win Metal Sonic, then you will pass this game . In this game many amazing, but strange move-set .     The game is fun and has aged alright and the new character is good. But the game is only fun for like 15 mins if your alone and 25 mins if you have a friend.

The game is based off of the engine of Virtua Fighter 2/Fighting Vipers. It's a 3D One-on-One fighting game in an arena. It's combat is criticized for being simple and dull. The game's presentation is great, with it's classic SEGA Model 2 style and it's great remastered presentation in the HD version. All of the characters look like just how they should look in 3D as well with the very detailed environments with tons of great color. It's short and sweet and perfect for a nice quick playthrough. The bonuses in the HD version are nice little extras, such as achievements, the ability to finally play as Metal Sonic & Eggman as well as being able to play as Honey the Cat for the first time ever. The game is also only $5. I feel like you can't get too mad at it for it's budget price.… Expand

    I mean, it’s fun at some points, but not all of it. Not only that, but it’s so slow, and I can’t stand the graphics. However, I do like the choices in characters and difficulty in the main Playthrough.

For its time, it was made very well, good music, a simple but effective combat system, the techniques of some characters counter the techniques of others. The arcade version is very fast, except for Metal Sonic. Terrible mini-boss, IAs a Sonic fan, how can I rate this game lower?) But seriously, this is the easiest, and at the same time, the strangest fighting game I have ever played.     The fact that this game only got 47% just blows my mind. Sonic the fighters may not be much and sonic in smash bros is obviously better, but it's still a fun little game to play if you're bored or just want a bit of fun or a cheer up in a bad day.

It's a Fighting Viper-like, Sonic-themed spinoff fighting game that was designed for a more casual audience and Sonic fans. Based on that it largely succeeded, having provided a superb representation of the Sonic IP (in some ways superior like expressiveness in characters and more fleshed out movesets) and technically a more beginner friendly experience than its older two siblings Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter (in that order, Sonic being more based on the former than latter as majority get wrong). Even based on being a re-release, it still performs well. A nearly-perfect port, definitely at least surpassing that of the release in Sonic Gem's collection, and adding new content like an entire online system and MORE (officially) playable characters (two of the best additions you can ask for in a re-release for a fighting game. Dragon Ball HD Budokai Collection couldn't be bothered to do not just one but either.)… Expand
