    Elite V2 is a fun (if a bit clunky) sniper game. It consists of 10 missions long, but only lasts about 5 hours on Normal. Of course, it's more enjoyable with a partner. Multiplayer and a few extra co-op modes add to the longevity. The story is decent and there's a good number of collectibles. Also bullet drop can be enabled on the harder difficulties.     It takes a bloody great game to make even me enjoy stealth! I dropped out of the game a while back, then only recently picked it back up again and can't say a single negative thing about it. Outstanding in every aspect, particularly level design - linear but in a very broad and immersive way. You get to explore and feel the scope of the environments while still sticking to the narrative.It takes a bloody great game to make even me enjoy stealth!     Sniper Elite V2 has linear level design, but it lets you determine the best place to engage the enemy, so it doesn't feel as restrictive as other linear shooters. It has a pretty bland protagonist, but that's okay because to enjoy this game for it's intended purpose doesn't require a detailed protagonist with clear motivations and an interesting backstory. The narrative itself is fairly derivative, and although the stakes rise, they never really make you feel like failure is a possibility.

    All that contributes to why it has a mediocre review score. In today's gaming landscape, people expect a lot from their games, and that is a good thing. But just as a lot of us enjoy movies like Jurassic World, which is ridiculous when put under any objective scrutiny, so too can we enjoy games that are as simple as watching a Nazi's eyeballs explode from the impact of a bullet fired from 400 meters away.

    If you want more than that, be warned. You may come away disappointed. But if you enjoy third-person stealth-based shooters that revel in gore...give it a try. You should be able to find it for cheap by now.    … Expand

    Good? Yes. Great? Far from. I enjoyed the game for its sniping and its slow-motion close up ultra-violent sniping kill animations but that's the only reason. The story is uninteresting and the other modes (aside form single player) are pretty lackluster. If you like sniping in video games, there's little doubt you'll like this game. If you don't, you won't. This game can be picked up forGood? Yes. Great? Far from.     Sniper elite v2 is an enjoyable game, but not enough for me to give this an 8 or a 9 score or even a 10. This game has some good stealth mechanics but not very good mechanics for action sequences. Its hard to tell if this game is meant to be a stealth game or a third person action sniper game. In each level you have three different weapons, a pistol, a machine gun and of course a sniper. ASniper elite v2 is an enjoyable game, but not enough for me to give this an 8 or a 9 score or even a 10. This game has some good stealth mechanics but not very good mechanics for action sequences. A trip mine, a rock and a dynamite ect. But the funny thing is, that you will barely use any of these weapons except for the sniper unless your playing on higher difficulties.     This game is really bad! The time between kills is really boring after seeing the same things every time. The highest difficulty is almost impossible! There are too many graphic errors and it is just a really bad game!

    The awful control interface, terrible combat mechanics, disastrous musical score and complete lack of story line to care about is almost made up for by the amazing sniping fun and legendary kill-cam... almost.

    It's a game that glorifies a perfect headshot in a new way. Each difficultly level provides just the right amount of challenge regardless of you skills with a sniper rifle. The more skilled among us are sure to enjoy the challenge the higher levels offer as they turn it into a more tactical game.

    Regardless of difficulty level stealth is required. It's a sniper game after all so going    It's a game that glorifies a perfect headshot in a new way. Each difficultly level provides just the right amount of challenge regardless of you skills with a sniper rifle. The more skilled among us are sure to enjoy the challenge the higher levels offer as they turn it into a more tactical game.

    Regardless of difficulty level stealth is required. It's a sniper game after all so going in guns blazing won't work out. Death comes quickly so it's best to keep as much distance between you and your adversaries as possible.

    The game rewards your well placed shots with glorious slow motion kills often accompanied by extremely gory X-ray vision. It's something that surprisingly never gets old. The gore effects are incredibly impressive. The detail in the bones cracking and in the points of entry and exit and sickeningly beautiful. It elevates what otherwise would have just been a decent sniper game into something more.

    Even better is that it comes with the ability to play through the entire thing with a buddy online. There are also several co-operative modes to dive into, as well as competitive multiplayer available through a free expansion. They extend the life of the game significantly, which is great because despite how enjoyable the campaign is it won't last you for long.

    The story and protagonist aren't interesting in the slightest and the WW2 setting is still the same bombed out buildings we've seen countless times before. However solid gameplay means that this is a great game anyway. You don't have to be a sniping pro to enjoy this one. There's enough here to please any shooter fan. Just keep your distance and enjoy those gory X-ray kills.    … Expand

    One of the best things about the game is the X-ray slow motion kill cam.When you shoot someone sometimes it will show a kill cam,it shows the bone ripping apart inside there body or and organ ripping apart.The gore in this game is fantastic.

    Graphically the game is good and I love the terrain.It has lots of rubble and bullet holes with craters every where you can hear bombs dropping near you.It really sets the mood for the game its a sense of true war.

    Overall Sniper Elite is a great game to get into,I give it a 8/10.

Any sniper game has me in line from the original Sniper Elite on the old XBox to this including the Sniper Ghost Warrior games. Here, the levels were vastly different from each other with some pretty difficult situations. The DLC additions were super and despite the hugely tricky 'shoot that bastard before he gets to the train' level, I've re-played this game quite a few times and still get a big kick out of it. Some things are scripted a bit, but still a fun shootem up. Its not all sniping, either. The movement of the player can sometimes be a little clunky and the machine gun takes some getting used to. If you go three check points in a level and quit, when you return its back to the beginning of the level. Not sure why they did that, as most people do not have a lot of flexability in their time, except for kids. I can see going back and playing a level or two again for fun. I look forward to Sniper Elite III. I hear sand box in Africa, but I doubt it wil be open world. If only it were, and they would open it up to modders, like Skyrim, it would be epic. Sniper Elite v2 may not be everyones cup of tea, but I think the typical person that likes shooters (3rd person while moving, 1st while shooting or looking around) would like this game. Just do not expect to be something its not and then complain. So, if you want to be a real sniper, join the army and practice.

    I like this game personally, it is great, pardon the expression, gun porn. Get the St. Pierre DLC, and your favourite rifle and plunk some guys in the head and feel better about life in general.

However, the game was not bad, just a little more difficult parts of the game, the stealth, it was a bit boring. But as I said that this game was not mediocre, nor fair, but a well-designed game.     The game delivers on it's title...snipe the living S#$! outta people. Does the game have it's issues...well sure. The enemy AI could snipe you back from a mile away on the hardest difficulty but then again that's expected. As far as the narrative is concerned well it is pretty straight forward which I believe was designed that way. Game play is fun and feels good. There is weight to the character and how he moves which is something I like in games. I would have liked some more direction with the explosives. It would have been nice to be able to look at an area and plan out the enemies deaths strategically mixing explosives, stealth, and good ol head shots. As an avid gamer I am happy to state that this game is not a rehash of everything else out there and offers an enjoyable experience to those willing to try it.… Expand

In V2, you can just relax and shoot everybody coming at you without a sweat, especially since they're not very smart and just line up in front of your rifle most of the time. The second biggest problem with this game is the AI, that have X-Ray vision and bionic hearing. It's very hard to sneak around, which should basically be the whole point of this game. Lastly, there is no sense of story whatsoever: you just get teleported to what seems like random locations and are asked to assassinate people, which again is something that was done better in the original as well. Those frustrations aside, the game is still enjoyable as a sniping game. It's fun to plant traps and lure enemies in them. The ambience is somewhat okay and the difficulty is respectable (without considering that enemies spot you from behind walls). You'd be better off buying this game on sale or renting it on a rainy afternoon. If you liked the original, you will probably be disappointed like I was...… Expand

    game was boring after 2nd mission co-op was the only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 but the game had its own unique visual style i would like to see it perfected in a future installment

    Played this game on this console after I played the pc version and it's not even feeling as the same game.Graphics and physics are both of a different world so it seems...I'm sorry. Hail to the pc!

    Sniper Elite V2 was one of those games I had missed on release due to other commitments and when checking with my website members, I tended to take a negative from it, that the campaign was far too short. Upon trying the game out, at various stages, I thought the end must be just round the corner, yet it wasn't. If played as an all creeping all prone sniper, the game lasts a good 10 hours to reach the final chapter and I loved playing every minute of it. The graphics were acceptably good, most of the pointers were in place. If I had one issue it was likely that either they don't tell you that the D-Pad UP Down works both the binoculars and also the sniper rifle. Either that or I missed it myself, though was paying attention at the start of the game. It was a Youtube Video that showed me the way when I got a little lost on how to blow the first tank up (as I have not played the 1st version of the game, either that or I'm thick). Conclusion: I found it to be a well rounded game. The targetting system seems almost spot-on, the killshots were glorious in most places and I would certainly relish the next installment.     This game has playability you could quite easily complete this game over and over again. Plus with the great Co-op modes this game is spectacular. The X-ray feature is the best feature to be introduced to game for a long time. Plus I'm glad their was no Multilayer competitive game modes as this would have spoiled it.

    Just pure Greatness

    I've been waiting for this game for a long time, ever since the ps2 version. It gave a different type of gameplay then the big two (cod, moh)during that era . The graphics are yesterday but the gameplay is different then the mainstream. So far it is entertaining. It can be quick paced if you want it to be,or slow and methodical. Good for a $30 game not a $60 but I still like it.

This game has a multiplier mode in which I did not fully explore as I don't see how a game of this caliber would have an enticing multiplier experience.     This one is much better than i thought. I love the Kill-cam, shooting someone just in the eye and seeing the bullet get in the detailed skull and left it deformed is very amazing.

    I think this is the best sniper game yet on Xbox. It allows you the flexibility to approach a lot of the game the way you want. Don't get me wrong, it's not sandbox and it does require sniping, but you can do stealth kills, booby traps or just go blast away. Or a mix of all of the above. The xray kill cam is an awesome touch rewarding a lot of your snipes with a graphic showing of allI think this is the best sniper game yet on Xbox.     Killcams- sweet and realistic. ALL organs are there. Balls shots are satisfying, especially on hitler...
    Levels- There are multiple ways to complete levels, but no encouragements to go off the beaten path and explore. Kill tallyl- not bad in single player, awesome in multiplayer. Ai- Turn the AI difficulty up if    Yeah, the graphics are great, not awesome... But does that matter.... hell no.

    While there's been plenty to complain about in Sniper Elite V2, I can't condemn the game overall. There are great 1st- and 3rd-person shooters out there, and this can't be counted among them, but in the sniping subgenre, V2 is basically peerless and should be respected as such among its audience.

    It's a shame that the AI behaves so irrationally and the levels are so small. With a little bit more ambition Sniper Elite V2 could have been a real gem. [June 2012]

    Sniper Elite V2 is a fantastic game and is definitely something different from the usual shooter we have come to know and love. While the close combat can be frustrating at times, the sniping is brilliant, and there's nothing better than getting that kill cam right between the eyes of an enemy. If you're looking for something fresh to play this is a must buy.
