Sea Life Safari's on-rails adventuring is about as exciting as scuba diving in your own bathtub.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKA soothing distraction. [Issue#34, p.116]
-
There's no doubting that Sea Life Safari is a relaxing and calming experience, some may say mind numbing. It's difficult to see where the claimed “unlimited replayability” enters the picture.
-
This is clearly a game designed for light-hearted communal family play, with everyone chipping in with suggestions of what to photograph. And, on those terms, Sea Life Safari is a sweet, amusing and enjoyable little experience.
-
A determined sea explorer can easily capture the bounty of the depths on film in an afternoon. Still, I enjoyed what I played and would definitely consider plopping down some cash for downloadable expansions (cave diving, please!).
-
Paying 800 points for this game nets you a pretty dry experience.
-
Although Sea Life Safari is clearly geared toward the younger crowds it is a family friendly title that all ages can enjoy.
-
Yes, it doesn’t have the depth of Pokemon snap, but it has charm, and it is a lot of fun to boot. Lots of secret areas, special pictures lots of things to see make this game great.
-
Sea Life Safari is just plain short. After 3 hours of play, I had access to all of the levels, had captured every species of fish in my log book, and had unlocked every Achievement except the one for finding all of the golden shells in the game.
-
Not a game, more a visual toy to keep your wee ones amused but without returning to the same tired old grumble about Xbox Live Arcade titles, 800 points is too high a price for the Xbox equivalent of an interactive screensaver.
-
At 800 gamer points ($10.00) the game is way overpriced for its few fleeting moments of fun.
-
I was surprised by the addictiveness of Sealife Safari.
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKA fun concept, but the lack of depth turns it into a snorkelling trip rather than an undersea odyssey. [Aug 2008, p.95]
-
If the premise of taking photos of fish on rails sounds good to you, then you won't be disappointed — and if it doesn't, then move along because there's nothing to see here.
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UKA thoroughly average change of pace. [Sept 2008, p.97]
-
A pleasant surprise.
-
There's so little to the game that it's hard to imagine it holding anyone's interest for long.
-
Games Master UKSimple, soothing. [Sept 2008, p.84]
-
The most innovative feature is that different creatures may appear depending on what time you dive.
-
My 4-year-old said the worst part of the game was "having to turn it off," which probably tells you all you need to know! [July 2008, p.64]
-
This is one of those occasions where having your movement "on rails" actually helps extend the gameplay.
-
Sea Life Safari could have been a decent offering for children, but it falls short in far too many areas -- it's not educational, the photo analysis is inaccurate and it's not very fun.
